Cobra Kai Seasons 1-5 FanFix (Spoilers)

Enjoyed your edits to these! Any plans to finish it tho? I just finished the finale of the show and although it was very satisfying, a lot of the stuff from season 6 and even season 5 just felt drawn out and ridiculously over the top. Granted I don’t know if that can be fixed in an edit tho.

Thanks!

I came back last year and finished both Season 2 and 3 after sitting on them for 2 years lol. But I do plan to finish the remaining seasons this year. I’ve mapped out all my changes for 4 and 5, so they shouldn’t take too long.

I had started my workprints for the first 5 episodes of Season 6 last year… one of the big changes I wanted to make was removing the really cheesey cave trip that Kreese goes on, but the knife ended up becoming super important later of course. So I ended up having to scrap those workprints, and decided to just wait until the full thing was out to continue work on the project.

I was also really holding out hope for a Blu ray release of the remaining seasons, so I could use some of the deleted seasons like I did in Season 3. But it looks like we just aren’t getting them at this point.

Not too sure when you checked out the Google drive, but at the end of last year I put the completed versions of Seasons 2 & 3 instead of my workprint versions. I also reverted one or two cuts I made to Season 1 that I wasn’t satisfied with.

The Prequel Radical Redux Ideas Thread

While AI’s progression can be quite scary at times, I can’t say I’m not excited to eventually see entirely new scenes created with it. The thought of being able to completely recreate the novel version of Revenge of the Sith alone would be an absolute dream come true, let alone seeing any EU novel brought to the big screen.

So having all the main characters be men instead of women is “stepping out of gender politics”?

To be fair, Disney can’t write a single good female character to save their life. The only characters that have had any staying power are all male characters: Cassian, Din, and Grogu.

The only female character I’d say that’s even decent from Disney so far is maybe animated Hera? But she just sucks now, along with every other character that’s been carried over to live action.

This gender thing was never an issue before Disney took over. There were absolutely amazing female characters in the EU and the Lucas Saga. Disney and the people they hire to write and create these shows and movies just suck.

What Do YOU Think Star Wars Should Do Next?

I agree Skybatman.

I’m hopeful if they keep damaging the brand over and over again like they are, eventually it will get to the point they have to sell it because there’s no return anymore. So long as Disney’s name is attached to it, no ones showing up. This would be the absolute best outcome for the brand.

The fact they keep doubling down on terrible ideas, tells me they are gonna do just that.

I’m also, of the opinion that most of the recent stuff isn’t even salvageable through “editing”. Most of the content is so empty to begin with that there is not much to enjoy after all the tight cutting anyway.

As someone who’s done edits of the shows, I couldn’t agree more.

At least the Prequels can be fixed with minor editing, but I can not say the same for any of the Disney content. The Prequels had a good story that was smothered with bad children’s humor, some bad dialogue, etc. All things that can be fixed with a few cuts. There’s no amount of fanediting that can fix the “first draft” level writing of these shows.

Kenobi: Trials Of The Master - Fanedit by PixelJoker95

I think this show has next to nothing worth salvaging. But I’m just interested in seeing some of the new material he created for it. Like Obi-Wan discovering Anakin is alive while at the cantina, just the way it was in the far, far, superior Kenobi novel.

Some of these scenes could make for an awesome extended ending to Revenge of the Sith, which is probably something I’ll throw together for myself after PixelJoker finishes his edit.

sad that anyone agrees with Anjohan, it’s just empty rhetoric

I find it sad that you don’t agree with that. But like Bede said, I also find it pointless to argue cause I can already tell you we are on completely opposing sides, and would never find any sort of common ground.

Thanks for testing that, Ady. I’ve added a different take which I think sounds better. I’ve tried putting the unmodified line in a rough test, and I definitely see what you mean, it’s missing that robotic quality despite it sounding like JEJ:

As you’ve made clear enough, you don’t feel it necessary to change this. The only reason I’m posting about it again is because I’m sure this will go in an alternative audio track project made by Octorox (or somebody else) at some point. What will likely end up happening is just replacing “Obi-Wan” with “Your mother” in the audio track to minimize any noticeable loss of that robotic quality between the sentences themselves . But all posts I make about this topic from now on will go in Octo’s miscellaneous projects thread, instead.

That test is perfect! I consider this an essential change for the perfect ROTJ edit, so I’ll definitely be on the look out for Octorox’s alternative audio when this project is finally done. 😃

the prequels don’t play a role

But hasn’t he changed things to conform to the sequels? Seems dumb to then throw the prequels to the wayside. I haven’t followed every detail of Revisted, so if Adywan stated this, I must have missed it.

Adywan, or anybody making an edit of ROTJ, is free to use these:

If for whatever reason these two particular takes of the line aren’t up to snuff I’ll add more.

I honestly think this is an essential change for any ROTJ edit.

When it comes to film and tv media, my stance has been known - although heavily misunderstood by many. I’d argue it’s even been forcefully misunderstood the second time around.

It’s okay Anjohan. I 100% agree with your points and I’m sure there are plenty that also do, but choose to just stay silent to avoid the headache’s it is sure to cause. I come here for the fanediting portion of the community and rarely care to jump to these posts, knowing they are gonna go down the political route with the stupid crap these directors and actors constantly say before these movies come out…

But if they want to push their movies this way, that’s fine, cause I ain’t watching them, and couldn’t careless about them. I’ll just stick to the EU at this point. Hell I’d rather read Crystal Star again over watching one more second of Rey on screen.

So with that I’d say it ain’t even worth arguing anymore. Disney will continue to nosedive and I couldn’t have hoped for a better outcome for them.
