The Force Awakens - The Starlight Project

NeverarGreat, the new scene is great!

I don’t know how you pulled it off, but just the addition of the voices during Rey learning the Jedi mind trick makes it way more tolerable to me.

Her learning that so quick without even knowing of the technique or having any training what-so-ever, was one of the biggest scenes that pulled me completely out of the movie.

I didn’t think anything could save that scene for me.
Bravo, good sir!

Gee, thanks y’all.

I’m not getting anything done right now on account of every waking moment being taken up with either work or moving into a permanent residence (yay homeownership!), but by the end of the month this move will be done and the edit will continue!

Thanks for the update! Congrats on the house and good luck with the move.

THE LAST JEDI (REMANIED) - « NEVER SEEN BEFORE » CUT with NEW VFX

Because it’s a shit-ton of work for something that really doesn’t matter or change the movie either way…?

To each their own. I found it distracting, so I wouldn’t mind seeing it changed. There’s already so many edits for the film, I wouldn’t mind seeing more minimal aesthetic changes such as that.

I’m interested in seeing a new take on this. For me, the Clean Cut was the ideal supplement to the original (unbiased opinion… lol) but there are definitely some alternate ideas bouncing around that I would love to see… Holdo’s hair being changed to brown is one and Kylo training is another… I was recently sent an AWESOME clip of Kylo ‘finishing his training’ and I’ve yet to see anyone implement this idea into an edit:

https://youtu.be/YWayIOy4UQU

so good! I’d love to see guys give this a shot

Holdo’s hair being changed would be essential to the perfect edit of the movie lol. I’m surprised I haven’t seen anyone fully go all in on doing it for a full edit.

holy Hell.

Almost every comment is like this lol. It’s truly baffling.

Who could have guessed that the guy who made countless videos on why Brie Larson, Disney, and Kathy Kennedy are the devil made a bad edit.

I mean I would agree that those three things are terrible lol. But maybe he should have spend more time actually WORKING on the thing that is bringing him his “fame”. Almost everything in the edit is stuff we already saw him make videos on over the last year. I’m curious as to what he’s even been working on this whole time leading up to release.

He obviously just wanted to drag it on, so that he could rack up more Youtube revenue and Patreon donations.

Just from looking at the comments on Youtube, I can tell that almost every one of them thinks that Topher Grace is the only one to ever edit the prequel trilogy.

These people are absolutely clueless to there being any sort of fan-editing community. Probably for the best though. Too much attention would only bring a shut down from Disney.

I got the same vibe reading the comments… it’s the ONLY explanation for them thinking this guy’s edit is like the second coming. really crazy…they feel like he’s doing God’s work… like people thanking him for all he has done… lol nuts.

Almost every edit he did, I’ve seen done way better here. The only thing I think his edit has going for it, is the Ackbar scene. But even then it is pretty sloppy.

Your Last Jedi edit is still my favorite of all the ones I’ve checked out on this site, and I honestly think rearranging everything to make something like this work, would bring the edit even closer to perfect. I’d love to see you attempt another go at your edit, since it just got better and better with every updated version you put out.

JEDIT: Also taking Rey out of the fight is an absolute plus for me. A lot of her scenes are horribly choreographed, and obviously the disappearing vibroblade being removed is ALWAYS a plus.

Been working the past few days on the Starkiller Firing scene, including shuffling the sequence and timing of a few shots, changing the firing shot so that the strong sunlight is no longer visible, and finally adding a new establishing shot to better transition from Rey/Kylo to the Starkiller cue.

SC.38 - Forceghostrecon's Cut
Time

The updated version was much better! You fixed pretty much everything I had an issue with from the first edit.
One thing I think needs to be fixed (that carries over between both edits) is the lighting in the room at the end of the fight.
When it jumps from them fighting in the hall, to the corridor (which you took out), to the room with the open door, the lighting is too different and is noticeable. I don’t know if changing the lighting would be able to help that, or maybe try rearranging a scene from what Luke and co are doing in between it.
Also the biggest glaring issue (which is on FXitinPost’s part), is Obi-Wan’s cloak. It isn’t that bad until the scene change from Obi-Wan at 3:15 to then back at him at 3:20.
Don’t know if there’s much that can be done about that, since instead of going the extra mile on superimposing Alec Guinness’s head, they decided to cover up most his head with a massive hood.

Other than those two things I think it’s near perfect. Good job!

SC.38 - Forceghostrecon's Cut

Looks amazing honestly! I knew it’d work in the movie if you just removed the corridor scene. My only gripe is the scene of Obi Wan going around the corner before he confronts Vader. It’s really janky the way he looks when moving, also the camera movement is awkward. I think if you just cut to Vader walking, pulling out his saber, then back to Obi Wan at 1:17 it would look better.

Vader vs. Kenobi Reimagined [A New Hope / "Scene 38 Reimagined"] – Release
Time

I think some of it could easily fit into A New Hope. Definitely not all of it, but could easily cherry-pick a few shots to extend/spice up the fight. Would love to see some people at least attempt it.

JEDIT: Everything from 1:12-2:43 and 4:54-5:14 are just fine. They need some touch up here and there though.

The Last Jedi - Clean cut edition

I appreciate all the positive feedback - I’m glad everyone seems to enjoy the cut!!

The gripe about the HD is because it was created and rendered in Camtasia (I’m making the move to Premiere) but the output is wonky in Camtasia - it creates huge unmanageable files, so I actually used handbrake to reduce the file size to make it manageable.

Nonetheless, I’m happy to hear people saying it made the movie more enjoyable to watch!

If you ever plan to do a release of it as HD for a final version it would be my absolute go to edit of the movie for sure! You pretty much made every cut I wanted. Especially love how you handle the saber toss, by just completely getting rid of it and having Rey notice the door shutting. That was masterful.

American Greatness, really?

It’s true, ideology triumphs over art but this ideology critic do the same.
Rembember ideology has many facettes und members.

ForceGhost delivers a superb fancut, turns a not watchable film into something less annoying.
Thank you very much for that.
Unfortunately he can’t reshoot this mess (like PT-Editors can’t reshoot the PT), so for me it’s overall still a bad movie.
Now I’m looking what DigModi will achieved with this crab.

I agree this is a suberb cut. My issue would be that it isn’t in HD. All the cuts are absolutely perfect though. Also I’m pretty positive that Digmod said he wasn’t doing his Legacy Of The Jedi edit anymore. He commented on it over on his Fanedit.org forum for his edit.
