Episode II: Attack of the Ridiculousness ***NEW 14 MONTH ANNIVERSARY DVD NOW AVAILABLE***
Time

Finally something more to look forward to! I loved TRM but I am a bit worried about this one. The movie is so goddamn stupid that it would take one hell of a Frink to make it at least watchable. It is pretty ridiculous on its own, but in the worst way possible. Anyway, I absolutely love the Saturday Night Fever suggestion. Here is some of mine.

Anakin should deliver some lines by Tommy Wiseau, the acting is performance and I believe lines such as "So anyway, how's your sexlife?" or "They're using me and I'm the fool." should fit in nicely ;)

Yoda needs to jump around a lot.

Anakin and Obi-Wan cause a bunch of accidents while chasing the bounty hunter, Cobra 11 style.

Bunch of dinosaurs walk in front of the camera during the picnic scene.

Replace random shots with green screen footage or animations from the DVDs.

Give Jango Fett Tom Seleck's moustache. In fact give Boba one too, for continuity and sith.

Obi-Wan should haggle for drugs.

The assasin droid cuts a hole in the window and opens fire while the Jedi are still bickering in the next room.

Aaaaand... Ric Olie should narrate the whole thing.

Okay, some of those will probably need to wait for AOTRSE.

Some very bold ideas in there, looking forward for some more.

How does Anakin Lars become Anakin Skywalker in your vision?

the idea was because of his reputation as a pilot and a jedi, many began to refer to him as "the skywalker"

Brilliant, that is pretty much the idea I am going for in my rewrites that may or may not be published one day :)

Aalenfae's PREQUEL TRILOGY (Heavily delayed - computer exploded)
Time

The new clip looks pretty nice. A good way to cut off some dead meat. The only complaint I have is that Anakin and co. seem to be changing locations qute a bit. One second they are in the great observation room (the one where they usually hold prisoners), then they are suddenly at the elevator, then we get some of Grievous and they are suddenly in the pilot's seats. Not to mention that both Grievous and the Federation folks have a reason to abandon ship, but why not leave the battle-droids behind so they can cause some damage to the Jedi?

Perhaps if Mace doesn't say nice things like, "you'll have earned my trust," but instead seems cold after receiving this information from Anakin might strengthen this perception.  If some other Samuel L. Jackson quote could be found that included something like, "I'll take care of this myself," it might help as well.

This would work like a charm...

Siths on the plane.

What you don't realize is that corporations run our society now

I've been telling you to get off your ass and change that.

If I protest against the corporations, none, they will kill me when it's convenient for them.

LOL

I'm sure Churchill was laughed at back in 1938 when he warned people about the Germans (sorry, but I'm bringing up Godwin's law), but he was proven right years later.

Well, then thanks for telling us, I am sure you will be burried beside kings one day too.

I'm going to repost this, because people apparently read only the first and last sentences of my comments:

Here's what at stake: we have a man who has the power to order the federal government not to preserve their own copies of his films. Anyone who questions his destruction of the OOT is told to get a life, even though no other filmmaker tampers his movies like GL has and withhold the originals (the reason he is where is right now) from the public. He has groomed his children to ensure the disintegration of the original films for many years after his own death. He continues to show poor taste in creative decisions in whatever movie he is currently releasing or rereleasing, even tarnishing the careers of more talented persons (Crystal skull the prime example). Don't get pissed off when he updates the OT yet again for home video in 2018, 2025, 2032, 2039, etc.

To imagine I almost didn't read your post for the first time... and even now, I find so much more subtext and meaning in there.... Thank you for reposting.

Idea & Info: Star Wars Deleted Scenes - Reincorporated?

I'm frankly sick of hearing the "footage won't match the quality" excuse for not attempting it (newsflash: it NEVER will). That's never stopped any other fan edit that incorporates additional footage, heck that's what they did with the first X-Men movie on the official DVD. But if you must blend it, downgrading the rest is a great solution.

Why are you so sure the quality of the deleted scenes can't match the rest of the movie? Most of those can be cleaned up and color corrected and we have a lot of tallented people for such a task on this site. I am just saying that one particular scene cannot satisfyingly match the rest not because its picture quality (which is actually pretty good) but simply because it is a different shot.

This issue stopped me personally from attempting an extended edit of ANH, simply because I feel that this is the one scene that needs to be reincluded to make some of the rest work.

Of course if you are aiming for a old movie look, perhaps using GOUT as the main source, then it may still work, but that's simply not the kind of project I was interested in.

just to interject with the red leader footage debate. you may find that the red leader scene that we see in the special edition is actually a spliced scene. the cut between is when a guy walks across the camera, and it is obvious that the two shots are completely different. something similar could be achieved using the same method.

I know that but this cut was actually just cutting out a line of dialogue, so it cuts to later in that shot. However, the shot present on the BD is actually a slightly different angle, so I really don't know how this could be added. This really sucks because I really wanted to see this particular scene restored in its entirety. It would certainly be better then the terrible cut in the SE and considering character development, it is actually really nice to have in the film.

Has anybody successfully made use of this ROTJ AVCHD.ISO file in Ubuntu or linux of some kind?

Every iso mounting program I've tried so far either doesn't agree with the file or shows nothing inside.

The file is 7.9 GB so I'm pretty sure its ready to go.

Just can't seem to make any use of it (mind you, I'm not even trying to burn it to a disc, just would be happy playing it on the computer at least for now)

This always works for me:

OR... the creator could have put some effort to try and make the prequels look like they actually take place BEFORE the OT. Of course that would require some creative writing and directing, perhaps even a bit of effort, probably more than that idea-stealing and lying narcisist is capale of.

And that's about everything nice I have to say about that man.

Oh and he made some nice songs.

Wait, that was that other guy.

My brother became a Star Wars fan when he was about 9. He loved the OT and was quite okay with TPM. When he saw AOTC about a year later, he lost interest in SW for a long while, because he thought the movie was a piece of crap. And yet AOTC was the one with the richest wisuals to date. So no, I have faith in future generations.

And since I have nothing nice to say about GL, I will now leave this thread (for a while at least).
