I can't say I enjoyed any of the prequels as a whole, and when I first saw them I tried to ignore it, convincing myself ... "It ain't so bad!", but I'd just be lying to myself if I continued. I can pick and choose parts I like or dislike, or parts that I just think are badly acted, poorly written, or the cheesy, romantisized scenes. It just keeps me from enjoying them as whole. It keeps me from saying I like each of the Star Wars prequels. I've never done that with the first three films, because there was nothing to pick apart, nothing that made me cringe and say, "George ...why?" It's different for everyone, but if I was to say I liked the prequels just as much as I like the orginals, that would go against every grain in body to decipher good film making as opposed to bad.

Maybe younger people like them more than the older fans. I didn't really discover them until I was like 13, which would of been the early 90's, and I probably watched them 500 times through my teenage years. It's hard to pull yourself apart from that nostalgia aspect. They also represent a period in time that was special to many.

But, as Han Solo would say, "Hey, it's me!"

Hey, I'm 13, (14 on Sunday...YAY!) and I HATE the prequels. I think there are lots of people who feel the same in my age group, though it's really the people who are beyond they're years and can seperate good filmmaking from CGI effects.

And I agree with that part about not lying about liking the prequels. I could never say it. I tried to like them. In fact, three years ago, I did. But then I grew up. I started watching the OT. Then I got a set of bootlegs and fell in love with the nostalgic and perfect OOT. Now, I watch them all the time (OOT) and look upon the prequels with disgust. I know why kids like them, and I'm fine with kids liking them, but George should have realized that maybe you can sacrifice that kid demographic so that all will enjoy it in later years. He did that with ESB, and it works.

And your right about that nostalgic aspect. The films of today just aren't...great. They're good, and fun, and very entertaining, but no classics, nothing really rememberable. Only things I can compare with Star Wars are the LOTR trilogy, which are just as good and the best piece of filmmaking in 15 years. I also love the Pirates of the Carribean films. They are great fun, just non-stop action, like the OOT. But the 70's and 80's...that must have been a great time to be a moviegoer. Star Wars, Back to the Future, and numerous other classics.

Good young man... (or young woman?)

STAR WARS: EP IV 2004 REVISITED ADYWAN *1080p HD VERSION NOW IN PRODUCTION

1: The dice: This is one thing that has never bothered me, in fact i quite like the fact that Han has dice hanging up. Maybe its cuz i grewup in the '70's but i want to keep them in. In fact i was thinking about adding them all the other shots that they have disappeared.

2: Hologram: Actually this scene is already in the pipeline, but slightly extended, and with a different character as the hologram...need i say more

3: Death Star schematics: You've hit it pretty close to what i will be doing here. The plans will be enhanced and will now be a hologram instead of the plain projection. It should in better with the rest of the saga cuz any plans in the other films are holograms.

4: Ramp: Yeh, not much i can do with that... or can i....

5 & 6: Rebel Battle room: If I can pull it off then then there will be better schematics and holograms, similar to the hologram overview in the battle of geonosis in AOTC

7 & 9: Death Star surface model: Yeh, that does look pretty crappy and kinda amateurish comparted to the rest of the effects. I'll see what i can do.

8 & 10: Explosions: these will be enhanced and, maybe in a couple of cases, will be newly composited explosion effects

11: Bad blue screen: Already fixed

12: R2 hit: It has been enhanced, but i'm still tweaking it

13: Hero's reunite: Not too sure about this one. Maybe adding some more background noise of celebrations, but not too sure if it needs any music. I think its pretty much better not to have any music after the Death Star explodes and that way the Throne room theme becomes more memorable when it kicks in.

And of course, a friggin' medal for chewie already. Although I don't konw how you would make it look like Leia is giving it to him.

She can always give it to him when off camera as R2 rolls in

14: Chewie: yes, Chewie WILL be getting his medal. It only took 30 years, but he will now finally have one.

I'll be posting a few more screenshots in the next few days of a few things that have been fixed or tweaked and these shots will have the new colour correction applied because that part of the edit is a few shots away from being complete.

Chewie getting a medal?

BRILLIANT!!!

*wipes away a tear*

it's been too long... thank you.

LOL we have to read between the lines here, I think.

They fought and suffered because Vader wanted Luke. They would have 'won' I suppose if they sacraficed themselves for Luke. And they did actually... Han, Lando, Chewie, Leia all knew that it was a trap for luke when Lando came in and said that Vader was after someone named Skywalker.

So luke just leaping ass first into vader's trap would kinda be a problem for them if we consider how Leia and han shouldn't want Luke to somehow wind up in their situation.

That's what I took from it anyway.

This person added Qui-Gon into the end of Return of the Jedi as a force ghost.

yeah I remember downloading that clip last year some time. Don't give lucas ideas though.

heh though it's kinda nice to see quigon a force ghost. He should have been one in Rots in some form instead of just a crap audio taken and filterred in Attack of the clones that sounds like like a muppet or some shit.

Good grief I wouldn't waste a second on Gomer normally. his shtick is to boast about lucas' genius on every star wars forum a "billion times" as some idiot put it when they were trying to make me seem like I'm still posting at TFN which I stopped not only because I was banned (that can't stop me) but because it's just a waste of life arguing how much better the PT could have been.

CO I'm glad you have your head on straight. Basically people who love the OT just don't feel the need to lower their standards to Lucas' level to buy his new toy commercials. That's all it is for me.

It really would have been a better trilogy if Lucas stepped back and cared enough to do better with the actors than the fx, and I wanted it to be and people like gomer of course always make it seem like there are those who never wanted the PT to even exist. Couldn't be more wrong. I just didn't want it to be crap.

All GL had to do was let someone else handle the writing and directing for at least the second and third films. I'll give him Phantom since that story is the least necessary of the PT and could have been dropped so we'd really get into the juicy part of the story in episode 2 and 3. 2's basically like phantom but with less jar jar thankfully, but of course it has those awful soap opera scenes.

Once again all GL had to do was admit he sucks at romances and just hand over the camera to someone else just for those scenes and it might have been better. And don't be so gullible to your kids and give Sam motherfucking Jackson and prominent role because he's sam motherfucking jackson. It's too damn distracting.

Anyway I don't understand how someone who seriously enjoyed the OT's quality could look at the PT and not feel dissapointed by the seriously stupid crap that was allowed to be highlighted (GL looks at story boards and highlights what he wants in the movie vs what he doesn't. He highlighted jar jar all the time...) for those films. It's even worse because it'd be so simple to fix up the bad ideas to make the movies better, and make us care about these boring group of people besides Ewan and Ian who are the best things in all three (a shame ewan wasn't given much to do in the first one).

No one, not you gomer, not lucas himself will convince me Yoda riding Chewie was a good idea. The OT was above this crap (well until the SE)

So JEJ said it best after seeing how far star wars had fallen by the time the PT was over. You know the quote.

Now wait a sec are you sure you're right? Luke basically used his telekinetic force power to guide his proton torpedoes into the death star didn't he? I always thought the whole jedi telekinetic power always was part of their bag of tricks. Vader uses it on that guy to apply pressure on his throat so he couldn't breathe I think...

Oh and yeah the PT definitely exaggerrates what the Jedi are capable of. But we're talking about the trilogy that introduced the midichlorian crap so whatever.

I haven't posted on tfn in a looooooooooooong time (I was banned some time last year) so what the fuck are you talking about?

Oh you edited. You're just trying some trollish bull shit.

I'm saying you've been a "basher" of the PT for quite a while. If you "throw the PT in the garbage"... why continue to talk about it years later?

How else am I going to tell people I threw those shitty movies in the garbage for the one billionth time?

*fixed

First time actually, but project whatever false crap you want onto my posts. That just makes you look like an ass.

And why do you say 'years' when the PT just ended last year? Anything for the agenda....

You assume too much. I'm not Lucas' bitch like someone here loves to be known as.

Why waste life on Gomer. The guy's been sucking on Lucas' chins for a loooooong time and just wants to come here and stir shit up. Just forget the PT exists and you'll be fine. It is what it is, George Lucas' poorly written Fx tests. He even had Anakin fighting Greedo in Phantom menace in a deleted scene. that's the kind of thought process that went into the making of this trilogy. The man has changed and doesn't take this shit seriously anymore. so why should I take those films seriously. *shrugs*

*throws PT films in garbage*

Feel free to keep posting about them on every SW message board you can find though!

Why would I do that?
