Can you imagine Han fighting Luke, that is what the duel in ROTS should have felt like.

I was too, but only because of how I felt about them from the OT. Was this the same for you?

The pT honestly does nothing to convince me Obi and annie were Good friends, padme, only the sincerity in Alec Guinness' words could do that... In fact, it's only from obi-wan's side that their friendship is at all believable.

It had to have been the bad acting during their supposed "best friend ever" scenes. (Points finger at Hayden, wherever he is.)B ecause I just wasn't feeling any of it, no where near as strongly as the "I hate you!" craziness was. But once again, from an actor in Obi-wan's Jedi robes, the emotional connection is made crystal clear through body language, intonation, and exactly what he says, "You were like a brother, Anakin. I loved you" I believe you Obi, since you're so cool, but I really wish I could have witnessed this brotherly love.

Luke and Han could muster up an sort-of old chum relationship that really came through because of MH's boyish spirit mixing up with the mature, manly stature that Harrison ford personifies to the last letter.(Plus they keep saving each other's lives which lucas tried to squeeze into the PT through RotS after fumbling the ball by simply mentioning all the life-saving good friendship type stuff... ) If only...

I was drinking some mountain dew while watching Anakin cry about turning evil and then later burning, it's his story, that's how it ends, but after finishing my dew, I felt more for Obi-wan and how screwed he and his kind were. I wish he were the chosen one instead.

Superb they are. On that same note, here are some clips I made from this edit, which include my absolute favorite fixes DE has made. If you're a lurker and wondering why you should want this set, I have a proposal. Put in the 2004 dvds, and skip to the part where luke's training on the falcon.

Watch that scene side by side with these clips:
You don't believe in the force, do you...

How am I supposed to fight?

My jaw dropped after seeing this. I once had to 'force' myself to blink during the frame jumps so it wouldn't stand out as much or at all. Now I don't have to. Thanks DE.

Has anyone now second guessed the prequels
Time
Yeah, they maintain some sort of standards that need to be met. Like Pixar movies. Many people have high expecations for them because of what quality they've shown in the past, and there's nothing wrong with that. If I or anyone expects more from lucas because he's delivered ten fold on it in the past, then, years later, doesn't with his jar jar infested prequels, we won't lynch his majesty, but rant and complain adnauseum. Personally, I'd admire Lucas even more than I did upon first viewing of his classic work if the new movies didn't trip and bumble all over themselves like the three stooges.

I showed the original trilogy to my older sister and she was absolutely captivated by the creativity, characters, the mystery and revelations throughout all three. I show her the new trilogy, she fell asleep during episode 1, so I skipped episode 2 since it was even more of a sleeping pill IMO, and we watched episode 3 (er... don't ask how please). She said, "This is stupid."

Honestly... I'd rather she had at least said, "eh, it's ok." Then I remembered Yoda's tearful goodbye to Chewbacca and replied, "yeah, this is stupid."

EDIT: Oh she enjoyed the Clone War cartoon though. I chuckle sometimes at how a story done in three and twelve minute intervals is more enjoyable than one that's approximately 6 hours, featuring work by some of the BEST talent in the industry. Lol what's up with that?

Hi there! If I were to put an image of Qui-Gon in the Mustafar scene, he would not talk. He would shimmer in the background maybe, but he would not talk to Anakin. More likely than actually putting his ghost there would be to have Anakin cry out for Qui-Gon’s help as he burns. Qui-Gon doesn’t answer as Anakin screams in pain and calls for Qui-Gon. I can do this due to the dubbing. This would bring up a bunch of interesting Biblical parallels that I don’t want to discuss now Good idea, though. Oh, and by the way- I HATE midichlorians with a passion and they will not be included in my saga.

Thanks for the reply, TM . That's an interesting idea you have too; perhaps it could not only parallel the scene in ESB, but also what takes place moments before in which Obi-wan turns his back on his fallen apprentice. I'm not sure about which biblical parallels you might be referring to besides the beginning of Genesis: the whole "First Sin" thing with God turning his own back on his creation. (Haven't gone through a bible since I was a lad) Well, if it's on the same track anyway, that's be cool, to have Quigon not respond similarly to how Obi-wan doesn't respond to Luke's crys for help after his duel in ESB. I love Parallels!!!

And I'm right there with you. Midichlorians can kiss my Wookie.

...and goodamnit, all this could easily be avoided if he'd just release the OOT on DVD. Then no one would give a rats ass what he did with the movies. People could still question his actions but there would be no reason for a backlash or him to fear experimenting. This is basically the entire meaning behind this site...a simple request to get the O-OT in a high quality format release so that he can continue doing what he wants and no one but the curious would need to worry...and if they did it would be needless.

It's frustrating isn't it. He'll release the 'original revised vision' OT again and again, but one release of the '25% of what I really wanted' OT is too farfetched a proposal. I'm simply not buying them (and don't even own the 2004 release). But of course many millions will throw their money at them to see what new changes may have been made or whatever, then laud the good changes (updated fx)and rightfully complain about the stupid ones (Greedo shoots first). And on and on until the end of time...

"Will this never end?"

I have all three movies too, well one's fullscreen so it's really only 2 + 1/2 but i paid the same price. I'd love to get my hands on the latest one released, POA Did ADM somehow fit the little marauder's map detail, essential to the book, into the third movie? That's the only prob I have with any of them. It's not even in the deleted scenes so I'm wondering why they left such an important detail out and replaced it with that time-consuming artsy stuff, which was cool but not as important.

I can't figure out this PM system. But I still have my paypal reciept here dated July 1, 2005. I paid for it with my brother's debit card. Nothing illegal her, he just let me use it to spend on my birthday gift (he's lazy). Here, I'll just paste everything except my full name and address.

I wish he did. Look what he did to boba fett in the new ESB. It's terrible...

I don't know, maybe getting a good enough voice actor would have been swell, but then again, lucas probably wouldn't have done any directing so the scene would come off as lifeless as most everything has been in the PT.

I don't really understand how to fix the whole ghostification ability myself. That's just something not even Lucas could wrap his mind around it seems.

One thing I was thinking about one day though was to possibly have Annie see quigon's ghost while he's dying on mustafar. It'll of course parallel luke in a similar situation, seeing Obi-wan's ghost in the clouds on Hoth, more of those repeated events that lucas says he's aiming for I guess. he'll say "Your midichlorians are evil now." or something like that.

Just putting it out there...

My reply to this wonderful discussion that's never happened before is that I hope ILM remembers that they're not just Industrial Cgi Light and Cgi Magic all the time. They've done some really impressive things with Yoda in RotS, but they're still having trouble with human doubles coming off too weightless or inhuman. Anything that's not a human, they've done almost perfect with in my opinion. So do what's necessary to create the illusion, not just put a cgi band-aid on it for convience -sake.

Oh and, still not buying this. Keep releasing new versions of cgi jabba and yoda for the rest of your life, Lucas. I don't care.

I just watched this great dvd again sidebyside with OCP's Classic edition. That was fun.

Now I have to say the only thing that doesn't meet my favor with this gift from heaven is the exclusion of the SE 'biggs meeting luke' scene, but the inclusion of the "blast it, biggs where are you?" during the death star fight. I don't see how he could be asking biggs for help if he's not there. Dropping in "Wedge" like in the OCP version would have settled that little issue.

And now it's time to continue watching this loop of luke igniting his saber. I. Can't. Believe. It....
