what made Jango so special?
Time
That Playstation 2 game was pretty fun and I felt had a better story and more lively characters than AotCrap. Jango was a little more interesting and Temurra Morrison (prob not spelled right...) did a good job with the voice acting, which makes his phoned-in SE 2.0 performance that much more unbearable because he really can do some at least half-decent voice work when given the chance to craft it properly.

Idea: for an edit of Batman Begins
Time
It's possible but very hard to do considering how you'd have to insert a reason for gordon gaining fifty pounds, batman lossing 2ft in height (grr.. still love ya keaton), changing eye color, etc... the list just keeps piling up. It'd be a lot of work just to see what'd be like.

What id be interested in is a more year-one accurate version, if that's possible. Insert anything deleted (especially scarecrow stuff). Make the wayne's death more cinematic, you know, really drawn out for full dramatic effect instead of a quick *pop* *Pop* mom's dead, dad tells son one of the movie's themes, then dies unconvincingly- eh, needless to say, it didn't work for me. Give bruce's mom a character maybe, cut out Robin, the little cute kid that gave it a sort-of rip-off of hellboy feel... slice out scarecrow's shaming by joey. Little things like that I'd do if I could.

***The "Darth Editous" Episode IV DVD Info and Feedback Thread*** - a partially "de-specialed" DVD
Time
Rather than let it rot on my computer way back at home while I'm here at school, I'd love to have it up on torrent (seeding for a long time) too, with DE's permission of course. I've never made one before though.

Either that or PM me for a copy and I'll run it on down to the post office not far from where I reside. For free. This weekend. I mean, literally run. Since it's so close, I wouldn't have to drive.

p.s. and Denrynj, I thought "i" was the only one who did the blinking thing... I find it absolutely difficult to believe GL sat down, watched the film looking for things to correct: film print, entire dogfight sequences, pretty much any space ship, leia's lipstick etc. and overlooked what DE and I'm sure so many of us have noticed. I'm starting to believe he never did actually watch the original film when he was making his 'se' changes. They even went so far as to change the original set design of the hanger bay for the SE, but simple little bloopers and botched fx shots went untouched.

Understandably, the more of the original film that makes it into the new releases, the better. But watching the movie is insane, jumping from great to idiotic (ie greedo shoots first) and back and forth hurts the whole experience. eh, I'm rambling. Great work, DE. I'm looking forward to anything else your planning to do with your 'real' special editions (what we should have seen in 97).

Episode II: Shroud of the Dark Side (the TM edit) (Released)
Time
*tiny Bump*

This project gets more and more interesting with every new page I read, especially with the idea of adding Neeson dialogue from his other movies. Hey, now that the batman begins dvd is out, maybe some of the alternate takes or behind the scenes/interviews could be used; maybe there's a little library of Neeson dialogue out there that's not just from his movie roles, but events, interviews, narrations- the guy is busy.... I. wonder. if. there's a neeson fansite that's archived any of them like this one hehe, just throwing it out there incase it's not already been done.

Anyway, I'm really excited to see the end result!!! aahh! And it's bound to better than the original, especially for such an extensive fan-edit, no... fan-improvement. Amazing work, trooperman!

Jedi To Jesus Free Download
Time
Amen. Jesus looks a little like obiwan from AotC.

oh and it's like they want more passion of the christs movies. I thought passion was brilliant visually and effective emotionally, though a little sparse on story...

There are plenty of religious films out there aren't there? Ten commandments, a whole bunch of jesus movies, some mary movies, loads of biblical movies out there I'm sure... and more to come. So the super holy book's call to more christian filmmakers doesn't seem so dire to me, at least not enough to say tv gets you high. It does, but only certain shows like teletubbies and that one with the talking bison, sesame street, all those shows that are like a sweet high, in elmo's world with talking/moving furniture and mr. noodle doing something stupid.

Yeah in sith the droids (and jedi) are made to look like fumbling fools, but throughout the pt, two droidekas always kicked more jedi ass than any clone ever could. The jedi always know to run from a droideka or they'll get turned into orang3 goop. I think the clones took over because they could easily surprise their jedi commanders; and that's it. "faith in your friends" is a jedi's greatest weakness afterall... I don't think it was because the clones were better than droids. Droids had shields and more hands and were much easier to make. Either palpatine is stupid or that death star that took 20 years to make took priority over the legions of droids he could have conquered the entire galaxy with.

I HAVE to see your edit of T3.

I don't hate the t3, but I still think it sucks, in the sense that it's sort-of a vaccume for the franchise, pulling the other two movies down with it.

Technically the film is amazing, but from a story point, it's messing things up.
For example:
What happened to the "The future is not set. There is no fate but what we make..." a prevalent theme in both the first films ??? Along with Sarah realizing that she can face the future with a sense of hope instead of dread for once since she's blown up cyberdine and destroyed the terminator stuff... Instead the terminator says that judgement day is "inevitable"? Then why did I watch the first two movies now that all those character's hopes for the future were a waste.

*puts on T2-3D glasses*

T2 makes it clear that the computer thing from skynet sent both t 1000 and t 101 back at the same time as a last resort after conner won the war (sarah says this in the narration for t2); I'm guessing the prototype, 1000, was the backup plan. Conner, I guess, shuts down the cyberdine computer and notices that it sent back two terminators to 1984 and 1994 to terminate him so he sends back his father and the t101 because he knows they can protect him. So now in t3 conner's finally terminated after the war is won? The lone warrior (I'll get back to this) who taught people to fight against the machines and saved the human race from extinction suddenly has an off day or whatever, and gets kacked by a t101 after both he and his mother survived their assaults for years. Crap.

And what's with kate brewster? Oh come on. Who the heck decided at the board meeting that conners needed a wife. Reese said "one man" and he meant "one" He didn't say "John and his wife taught us to fight." It's always been about john's destiny as a great military leader and I believe the ending to t3 would have been more powerful if john had to face the bleak future he dreaded since childhood alone. I can only assume kate took Linda hamilton's place in the script because of john's line about her being like his mom. Kate's such a non-compelling part of the story and really could have been left out; what a holy magically magical coinicidence it is that she's the daughter of the guy who turned on skynet. come on....

And the absurdness. campy self-aware quality "I hate machines" lol? ... And why didn't barbie's liquid metal just separate from the skeleton to chase john like the t1000? It's no secret that even when the liquid metal is in thousands of pieces, it can crawl back together and form into its old self again.
I don't know what to think; this movie's so frustrating good at points so i can't hate it totally. I'd love to see what's been done to make it better.

If George had only changed Special effects for the SE and DVD, would people have complained as much?
Time
"It's worse."

What gets priority in lucas' mind.

Remember the little sorta commentary interview part of the SE boxed set? just before the movies start, lucas, burtt and some guy are jabbering on about some fascinating things like removing matte lines, cleaning up the old print, but OH! Wait! there's a preiview of a shot from Return of the jedi. It's the rancor fight. And they point out exactly what a matte line is with big bright arrows! They must have fixed that shot. I can't wait to see how it came out.

No they didn't. It's exactly the same, matte lines and all. Yet we get new jabba the hutts every other release and a scream or two for luke, right?

Of course they've fixed the shots now so the black matte (I hope that's what they're called ) lines are gone once and for all. However, Vader still gestures out of sync in ANH. Stormtrooper head-bonk, lightsaber off-sync (esb), Jumpy cuts between frames, ALL are still there, and I'm so happy to discover (thanks to darth editous) that they could have been fixed with a little digital manipulation. What's worserer is the damage done to the fx that didn't need any upgrade in quality (the pink-saber, and blades with no-core.)

And absolutely, Bungle. Hayden, (serously ask me and I'll tell you Jake Lloyd is the superior actor), Christensen's Annie Skywalker cameo can't be topped as the worst addition to the classic trilogy. Not only does this completely remove original elements, but also radically changes the story so it makes no sense. Anakin did not die as a remarkably dumb 20-something guy with only one hand and a silly papercut next to his right eye. He died a noble, wise, and mature old man who finally broke his pact with the devil for his son's love. Now the brief but powerful emotional connection we make to the old anakin inside the vader suit and the completely cleansed soul standing next to his former masters is Poof, gone, replaced by some sinister-looking fellow Luke has never seen before. Which brings up the idea that Anakin's age is perserved when he traveled from dark to light therefore trapping his good soul AWAY from all temporal effects, but still this 'goodself' was able to triumph over the bad self despite being COMPLETELY dormant for however many years it was. I don't understand how that could work.

Depends on whatever affect they have on the story, (which includes the level of distraction from said story), to me. Some are completely ridiculous mistakes made by one of the world's best fx companies. Other's really help make the movies perfect. So I agree.

Really all that needs to be done is release the originals for a decent price on dvd or show them on tv uncut in HD so someone can record it and... er...uh. breed it, make it grow... heh heh. Where I work, we're selling new ET dvds and I noticed that preview pictures on the back were from the special edition version. Now I haven't watched it, but I'll stilll assume the dvd isn't the original theatrical release, and that's cool. Since I own the theatrical version on dvd already, I can choose which one to watch, shotguns, or walkie-talkie guns. I have a c h o i c e. And that's a good feeling...

You know something... I will forever look back on the PT and think: Damn those had some excellent trailers. Anyone else view them as the best part. Of course it's no secret that most trailers out now are misleading in terms of what the final product actually is. (They're supposed to be PREVIEWS, not music videos...) Shouldn't it have been the other way around? Shouldn't the movie have felt more like star wars than the short preview? It hurts to think about this. (ep 3 of course being closest one to the target) I'll never forget how I felt after seeing the trailers for episodes 1,2,3 and then having all that built up anticipation/hope ripped tp tiny pieces, stamped on, and burned in a furnace.

Lol (sigh...)

Well here's my story if anyone cares to read it. While many were debating back and forth whether Jar Jar was a good character or destroyed tpm or was a complete waste of many talented artists times, back and forth creating this schism of jar jar lovers and haters, I was one of the, if not THE biggest jar jar haters of all time. That's why RotS gets some extra positive points from me. It is the prequel that FINALLY got the message. Jar Jar sucks. end of story.

Other than that, it's not the end I would have wanted. Characters like Dooku just being thrown away... one big boss fight after another like a video game, grievous (nuff said), midichlorians. It's just a mess. But at least jar jar's been put in his rightful place alongside other extras.

Thank the maker. I think that's the biggest reason I enjoyed anything about episode 3. It may sound petty to some, because there's a lot ot like about episode 3 besides the lack of jar jar, but that's just how I see it after YEARS of wanting a practically jar jar-free episode just like it was in the OT. He really is THAT terrible a character to me.

Darth Vader birth scene, good or bad choice?
Time
I can't imagine any pt without some birth of vader thing. The only thing missing from RotS was a bacta tank and some explanation for the iron lung suit. It fits perfectly beside the unmasking at the end of the good trilogy.

We get nothing, vacuum-sealed chosen one to go and that's it. They can give him a new hand and later give his son one with fake flesh, but poor Vader has to walk around forever with that armor on. what a shame because the script writer didn't know what he was doing. what a shame.

Oh and I just figured out what a Mr. Bungle is... lol.

Why Sebastian is better..

because

anakin

died

when he

was

old

and

half machine.

That's how it was back in 83. If Lucas wanted us to see his youthful bastard idiot self restored, he would have taped and composited into the shot, some guy having a hotdog or something during their break from work unaware of the camera. That's prettymuch how he films actors like Hayden for scenes like this...
