Must actually use pirate English in posts.
Darth Pirate.
Must actually use pirate English in posts.
Darth Pirate would have been a suitable username.
He's got the chin.
I'm down.
Getting a bit cathartic in here.
Man, I rarely say anything and I get an ignore? Pish posh.
which is a holy day
What a boring forum this must be for them.
Also my first time being ignored in awhile. But it doesn't count as an ignore because socks.

"DuckDuck Go" because I never actually use the search bar, I just use the address bar to search, it just has the default text in it all the time.
In fact, I just removed it from my browser for that reason.

What do you want to see or not want to see in the future?
You know, I'm actually just glad to know that from now on, everything will have to go through some real scrutiny in order to get put out there.
Hopefully that scrutiny means no more stupid stories that break continuity, no more forceful retconning to make everything jive, hopefully less emphasis on the Prequels.
I'm just glad for a real, united Star Wars canon.

Surely, it must have been eaten by now. Oh, you mean a clever plot device. ;)
No no, I meant a literal MacGuffin.
Delicious.
I'm hoping we're just seeing some kind of search for a MacGuffin left behind by Ben.
We had decent reasons to visit it before: Han's unfinished business with Jabba in Jedi and his need for rescue, and though it shouldn't have been his home planet, Anakin's unfinished business with his mother.
Hopefully there's just a continuation there, and I think a race for something Ben left behind is a great idea if we absolutely must go back.

Hey I have a question about the single player mode on the PC version of Call of Duty 4 modern warfare that I can't find an answer to anywhere else on the internet. My dad's birthday is coming up and I think this would be the perfect gift because he likes playing shooters on his PC but he doesn't have a highspeed connection, does COD4 require one to play single player? I have googled it but some sites say it does and some sites say it doesn't,does anyone here know for sure?
Thanks for your help.
You should be just fine with the original Modern Warfare as far as the singleplayer campaign is concerned.

Absolutely! And also there are packs for Majora's Mask as well so if you want to experience it again without playing the same game you can try that. Also it works with Master Quest!
I'd love to know where I could find these texture packs!
http://textures.emulation64.com/index.php?id=downloads
There's a few of them. If you want to use an ocarina of time pack (other than the cell shaded ones) PM me, because the ones that use "realistic" graphics are the community pack and phantom7's pack, but they are both missing several things but most of the missing elements can be found in one or the other packs but not both, plus one pack may have glitches that the other pack doesn't have, etc. I made a hybrid version of these two packs that I used myself that I would love to share with you. (I've never made it public as it's not my work rather a combination of other people's work)
The BlueDart majora's pack is pretty sexy though.
Awesome, belated thanks. Those packs are gorgeous!
I was hoping he was back for good. I miss Ziggy. =(

Very interesting. A Tusken Raider camp in the ruins of an old homestead? I see some vaporators.
My first thought as well. Very Tusken-looking.

Of course, the fact that none of the stormtroopers with spoken lines have Jango's voice or accent doesn't matter in the slightest.
The Stormy who bangs his head has no lines of dialogue. It's possible he was a Jango clone, even though the Stormies with dialogue were not.
I don't understand how head banging is a genetic trait...

It's actually not a terrible list, but The Dark Knight at #3 is laughable, and as much as I like Inception, it doesn't belong anywhere near this list.
These were my thoughts.
Empire voted top film of all time by a new poll.
Very interesting to see the films that are not at the tops of these lists. Really reflects the changing of the generational guard. Nice to see many of "our" classics up there.

If they wiped the post-RotJ EU clean just so they could retell a major story from said EU, it would piss off pretty much everyone. It would straight up disappoint the people who never liked those books and were hoping for something truly original. Meanwhile, it would be like adding insult to injury for the fans that were still holding on to the now "old" continuity.
This is my rationalization and my hope. They have to nail it with this, they can't just rehash EU stuff right off the bat.

I hate that the EU turned the "Academy" mentioned in Star Wars into an Imperial Academy. The dialog doesn't support that idea at all.
Here's a slightly truncated portion of the cut Biggs scene as it appeared in the script. I've highlighted the relevant parts:
LUKE: Look who's talking. Now that you've been around those giant starships you're beginning to sound like my uncle. You've gotten soft in the city...
BIGGS: I've missed you kid.
LUKE: Well, things haven't been the same since you left, Biggs. It's been so... quiet.
Biggs looks around then leans close to Luke.
BIGGS: Luke, I didn't come back just to say good-bye... I shouldn't tell you this, but you're the only one I can trust... and if I don't come back, I want somebody to know.
Luke's eyes are wide with Biggs' seriousness and loyalty.
LUKE: What are you talking about?
BIGGS: I made some friends at the Academy. (he whispers) ...when our frigate goes to one of the central systems, we're going to jump ship and join the Alliance...
Luke, amazed and stunned, is almost speechless.
LUKE: Join the Rebellion?! Are you kidding! How?
BIGGS: Quiet down will ya! You got a mouth bigger than a meteor crater!
LUKE: I'm sorry. I'm quiet. (he whispers) Listen how quiet I am. You can barely hear me...
Biggs shakes his head angrily and then continues.
BIGGS: My friend has a friend on Bestine who might help us make contact.
LUKE: You're crazy! You could wander around forever trying to find them.
BIGGS: I know it's a long shot, but if I don't find them I'll do what I can on my own... It's what we always talked about. Luke, I'm not going to wait for the Empire to draft me into service. The Rebellion is spreading and I want to be on the right side -- the side I believe in.
...................................................................................................................
LUKE: I wish I was going... Are you going to be around long?
BIGGS: No, I'm leaving in the morning...
LUKE: Then I guess I won't see you.
BIGGS: Maybe someday... I'll keep a lookout.
LUKE: Well, I'll be at the Academy next season... after that who knows. I won't be drafted into the Imperial Starfleet that's for sure... Take care of yourself, you'll always be the best friend I've got.
So from this scene we learn that Biggs has been away in the big city (Mos Eisley?) at the Academy. An earlier portion I left out is that he received his commission and is the first mate aboard a ship. He fears being drafted into the Empire so he plans to jump ship and head to the planet Bestine where he hopes to find a Rebel contact. Now, if this was an Imperial Academy why would he be afraid of being drafted into the Empire if he'd already joined it?
So what did the EU take away from all of this? That Biggs left Tatooine to join the Imperial Academy on Prefsbelt IV. And that Bestine is a small town on Tatooine. *face palm*
Yeah, growing up, even without having seen the deleted scenes, I always figured the Academy was a civilian thing that the Empire drafted from.
Had it been an Imperial Academy, I would have thought that they would have referred to it as such.
The paranoid side of me wants to believe that the Academy was a dummy organization set up by the Empire to suck unwitting recruits into the Imperial fleet. ;-)
Well from what Biggs says, that's almost the case. He makes it seem inevitable that he'll be drafted if he doesn't jump ship.
Since it seems like the Empire likes to pull from them, it's likely that it offers something similar to military training (also considering the Rand Ecliptic is a frigate which is a military class), which makes it likely that academies are set up by local governments as police or militia forces for local system security or something similar.
