I almost never see movies 2 and a half hours and longer. It’s the main reason why I skipped Civil War.
The thing about Civil War is I didn’t realize how long it was. I was enjoying myself the whole time. I never had that moment where you drop out of the movie and have a small existential crisis as you realize you’ve been watching this thing for hours.
That only works if the forum owners (Jay in this case) want to regulate such things.

Not trying to defend 9/11 jokes but some of the best comedy shows and films going were about the second world war and 60,000,000 lost their lives in that.
Comedy should be judged on it’s ability to make us laugh not about what it’s about.
Dealing with a difficult subject requires a bit of sensitivity but if sixty million deaths can be the background for really funny comedy anything can.
Just maybe in more skilled hands.

Nedry enacts his plan. Ahh modems. Back when you couldn’t use the internet and make a call at the same time. That ruse would never work these days. We see a bit more character development (Wu has a larger role here) and the assembling of the lobby skeletons. We get to see Chekhov’s (or in this case, Muldoon’s) Gun, too.
There’s also a lot more detail on Nedry’s plans and the origin of the issue for the mainland. I won’t spoil that though, suffice to say it’s very different!
The rest stop is an odd idea. Kinda slows the movie down.
Needless to say, I’m excited to see how the plot differences play out! Things are about to get spicy now.

Noise Layer sounds like a nice ambient band to me. It’s not brutal enough to be metal. Maybe if it was Corpse Layer. Think of the double, triple, even quadruple meanings there!
