Conan The Barbarian 1982 US Theatrical Edition & BONUS! *RELEASED*
Time

The TeamBlu edition of Conan is not on Myspleen right now. Obtaining an invite won’t help you in your quest I’m afraid. For whatever reason this release has been the most elusive of all of TeamBlu’s work. I’ve only ever seen it once. I passed on it at the time and currently it along with Nurse 2D are the only releases I do not own.

Book Of The Dead II DVD (Evil Dead II TV Version) (Released)
Time

See No Evil said:

It’s worth saying that I’m a massive fan of the trilogy, and this project was never intended to rip anyone involved in the movie off. I wanted my DVD to be a companion to bought retail releases, not a ‘free’ bootleg replacement. In that spirit, any sharing of this DVD is being kept strictly offline for physical trades only.

Considering the number of times this film has seen official release and the number of times people have been asked to purchase and re-purchase this and the other evil dead titles I don’t see how you sharing this would possibly impact anyone… especially when most folks these days are either a) going to want quality HD transfers or b) will settle for whatever version is streaming online. You releasing a full featured DVD edition isn’t likely to garner much attention any longer.

With that said, I understand how the pay to play game works and how only by sharing “rarez” a person can then themselves get access to other unreleased content. The project sounds quite fantastic and is a testament to being patient and vigilant in the hunt to locate things.

Since most were of the folded variety, the majority were priced between $8 and $10. I plan on stopping back in a week or two and possibly picking up a few when I can park near the store. I’ll check at that time and let you know condition and cost. I had considered going back this week, but the Arrow Sale took a much bigger part of my budget than I intended so I need to wait until next payday.

This is completely unrelated to the current projects, but I thought I’d share that today over my lunch break I decided to walk to a near by antique store and poke around. I was there scouting for Beer signs for my dad’s shop for his birthday/christmas. I have been to this particular store a few times in the past, but today I stumbled across a room I had missed during my previous visits. Inside were a ton of old 80’s movie posters, lobby cards, and other related stuff. Two of the posters were for Team Blu Projects. Sheena, and Private School. These were the original folded posters buried there for who know how long. Since they were folded I didn’t open them up to fully inspect them, but included in the protective packaging were photos of the poster prior to storage. Both looked to be in pretty solid condition. I didn’t purchase anything today (Prices ranged from $8 - $25) since I had to walk back to work… but I will likely go back in the near future with my vehicle and pick up several that I saw there.

I don’t think much of Cinematik either 😦.

I would prefer MySpleen (if blurg is no longer an option).

The Spleen and BluRG would be my picks as well. BluRG seems like the obvious choice as most of us that are interested in these releases are already members, they have a solid community that won’t immediately take down your projects, and there are a lot of solid members there with quick connections. Given that you’re looking for donations for projects again, I don’t know why you couldn’t ask for Donations to help fund a permanent seedbox there. I would assume that with your announced project slate, you could find enough people willing to pay to keep the box up for a while.

The Return of The Living Dead "Original" audio project. (Released)

I will have to re upload it, I deleted it a long time ago after all the interest had died down, also I may revisit this and see if I can tweak it even better, I have learned so much in the audio side of things over the past year or so, I will let you know when I dig the files up off my external and re upload.

I know I’m coming to this party a few years late, but if there’s any hope of this seeing the light of day again, I’d be very eager to get my hands on it. I’d happily help test out any new mixes, if the need were to arise.

Unfortunately TeamBlu and Dark_Jedi have all but disappeared from everywhere they used to frequent. So this project is effectively dead. With that said, Scream Factory is releasing their own version of the film this Summer so theirs a good chance the original audio could be restored for that release. The UK also has it’s own version… http://www.amazon.co.uk/Return-Living-Dead-Blu-ray-y/dp/B00GGNQTGY/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1456792372&sr=8-1&keywords=Return+of+the+living+dead That includes the original audio as well. The film is region free but the extras are in PAL so depending on your capabilities you could get the best release of the film with a great documentary, or just a great version of the film alone.

Info Wanted: Exclusives to Rental Versions? Which releases & how-often?
Time

There were often plenty of times where Theatrical Versions were exclusive to Rental editions while standard retail releases had only the Directors or uncut version of a film. The version that always jumps to mind first for me is Saw VII (Saw the Final Chapter). I had initially purchased the film used from Blockbuster and it wasn’t until a few years later that I realized I had a cut of the film that was never sold through standard retail channels.

So my Canon printer just crapped out on me about an hour ago midway through printing a BD-R disc and so I’m now in the market for a new printer and am open to suggestions. At this point I’m likely going with the Canon MG7720 but would like to hear what others use if you are disc print capable (Which I would assume/hope most are in this thread).

EDIT: So I ended up going with a Canon Pixma MG7720 printer. It’s currently on sale and I didn’t want to go printerless for more than a few days. Thus far it seems to work well. I’m annoyed I have around $50 in ink I can’t return on my old printer and that of course doesn’t work with this new model, but I don’t really have many options with this. I’ve printed one custom cover so far that looked great, so hopefully this printer lasts longer than the 2 years 11 months my last Canon lasted. (A MG5320.

I’ve read all the thoughts in the Master thread and seen the discussions and plans for the future, but that still doesn’t change how I feel about the new look right now or my initial gut reaction when it was unveiled and I made that post upon it’s first viewing. Most of us are on this forum for special projects or to discuss certain aspects of film preservation, not to hammer out what we like/dislike about the new design of the website and thus most members probably won’t take the time to post comments in the thread regarding the new forums anyways. I can appreciate the need for change and the growing pains that come with it, however even you have to admit that in it’s current condition the design is pretty abysmal compared with most any other forums around the net. With that said it obviously hasn’t been so bad as to make me stop visiting, and my post was made in passing inside a thread where the majority of the sites members likely won’t even see it, as opposed to starting a whole new thread to complain so I really don’t see the harm in my comments. At the end of the day I’m going to go where the community goes. If people are content and stick around, so will I. If members leave and decide to set up shop elsewhere, then who knows what the future holds.

I posted this a while back, and then the site went to crap.

Happy Halloween

OK, I see now. When that was originally posted I thought it was just a teaser for the upcoming release. I will pay closer attention in the future!

It was just a teaser. No official announcement went up when the Film became available. I had just been feverishly watching for it since the announcement and caught it shortly after it became available. After skimming through bits of it to check for Disc functionality I came and posted my comments. This site was down however when the files became available so that’s a big part as to why nothing was ever officially mentioned.

On Another note… I Really REALLY Hate the new forum design.

Just Wanted to Say that “The Gate” looks absolutely amazing! I was able to grab it earlier today and have only skimmed through a few bits and pieces thus far, but the overall presentation is yet another Home run! Everything from the Menu design, to the artwork, to the included special features, and the film itself are just top notch. This has been a release I’ve hoped to see on Blu ray for a Long time from Lionsgate, and yet Team Blu has not only fulfilled that hope but arguably made any subsequent release irrelevant. Thanks so much once again guys, all of your work across the board is so appreciated! I anxiously look forward to what the future holds!

This is a BD25, the only BD50 projects coming soon that are BD50's are Night of The Living Dead 1968 SE and UE and The Black Hole SE, the other 3 are BD25's.

Excellent, then I am all ready to go!  I also was coming back to post that I love the reveal!  Add's one more layer to the TeamBlu presentation.  Much better than the usual methods of "Coming soon" or "Now Available".

Not that anyone cares, but I'm hoping to start reviewing more of the Team blu releases in December or early 2016.  We've had several great releases this year so I have my work cut out for me, but hopefully I can knock a few out in the coming months.

I always like reading your reviews, you put alot of effort into the presentation, i look forward to future ones.

On a side note, i am not a expert on blu-ray structure but i wonder if it would be possible to add the nfo and artwork on the disc in future, i always keep them on my pc but would be nice to know i have a backup on the disc too, just an idea.

I can't wait for NOTLD68, it will kick the ass of any official release :-)

Thanks for the kind words!  As for your question, you can actually burn whatever you want to the same BD-R as long as it's outside of the BDMV and Certificate folders.  I found this out when trying to burn some DOCSAP releases last year.  Cover art, soundtracks, Bonus Web content, all of it can be added as long as the BDMV and Certificate folders are left alone.  Of course none of it will be visible unless you use a pc drive, but for what you're asking this will work just fine.
