to be honest, I'm not entirely sold on the creature design we've seen so far, they look a bit too 'Farscape -y' its a big galaxy but a few familiar species wouldn't hurt
YES! I've said the exact same thing to others and was shrugged off.
I thought someone had. I have an idea for an original one, we'll see if it happens...

Might one request an Asa Butterfield avatar with some Sith-ish look to him?

Because of their youth. They have a fresh outlook and a reverence for the material.
Look at the contemporary films of the likes of Spielberg and Scott. As they've gotten older they've lost touch with what made their earlier films so spectacular.
I don't know who made this, but I like the cut of their jib:

Well I had a go at it. Hard to tell what it is at this scale though. Let me know if you think of something else.

The Avatar Doctor™ accepts no liability for vague orders:

So far i have zero interest in any of these upcoming Anthology movies.
Rogue One is looking to be amazing. They've assembled a rogues gallery of veterans of gritty war films. Gareth Edwards is gunning to put the WAR back in Star Wars.

Well this is set just before the start of Star Wars and we see Vader fresh on Leia's heels chasing after the plans, so I'd say it'd be more appropriate to see him in this context than most others.

People keep saying Rebels has McQuarrie sabers. While a lot of the shows design is inspired by McQuarrie, the sabers and other effects like the way ships are shot are very consciously inspired directly from the OT:

I don't know but the BB we saw was remarkably expressive. It had incredibly fine head movement, was amazingly emotive and completely mobile.
There would be zero need for a puppet if they had that on set.
But it is still a puppet. It's got people controlling it.
Point is, it's not manually puppeted with a stick like that "rumor" stated.
Yeah, I'm quite pleased with the creative team if not the subject matter. Miller and Lord are a brilliant duo and I love Solo but I really don't want to see another actor in live action take on the role. If this were an animated feature that'd be another matter....
Duracell while I have your attention, if you happen to PC game at all I thought I should mention The Vanishing of Ethan Carter.
It's like stepping into a Lynch film. Utterly captivating, bizarre and wondrous.

That post was pretty convincing until the end there. I've seen BB in person, he is no puppet on a stick.
I agree wholly with Aluminum, couldn't have put it better myself.
Sounds promising but the proof is in the pudding. Marvel so far has completely floundered with their Star Wars efforts, save for the one series not written by a Marvel regular.
