I don’t know where you usually source your images from but I find TMDB a good source for high resolution images in both their poster and backdrop sections. And failing that if I don’t want to go in and take screencaps myself sites like Fancaps can be useful. Star Wars Screencaps is also a great resource though not for anything recent. They seem to have stopped updating.
To bring in a little more controversy (since apparently my posts rile people up for entertainment value and generate performative “who cares” posts from people who clearly care), Luke is the “Ghost of Kyiv” from early 2022.

Just wanted to congratulate you on this edit. It’s quite possibly the most seamless fanedit I’ve ever watched and the value added to the film is tremendous. It took what felt like a big budget fan film and turned it into a proper entry in the franchise. It’s no exaggeration when I say this cut of the film is what should have been released in theaters.
The only place I wish it had gone further would have been to completely cut out the Offspring. It just looks too much like an Engineer and I’d personally like to completely forget PROMETHEUS ever happened. But that’s just a personal bias of mine. As I said, this was an amazing edit. Thank you!

The question is why are you trying to upconvert VHS recordings. If you’re not a fan of Despecialized because they use the Special Editions as a base and are more of a purist. What’s wrong with Project 4K where they’ve spent years collecting, scanning and cleaning original prints of the entire trilogy in 4K resolution? And while I’m not privy to the running costs of that project, I suspect it’s far south of your project budget of 200k for digitizing VHS tapes?

You’d probably get better results using an algorithm specifically trained on animation data. The anime community has been doing a lot of work in that regard.

Fan films are hitting unbelievable new heights these days!
Anyone undertaking ‘a weekly re-watch’ for season 1 of Andor - to lead-in to the season 2 premiere - should likely start it next week (starting 28th January).
I’ll be starting my rewatch on March 25th with three episodes a week to match the release schedule for season 2.

TNG Klingons were heavily inspired by John M. Ford’s The Final Reflection. It introduced Klingon Honor and their political structure.
Highly recommend giving it a read as it’s considered one of the best Trek novels ever written.
