The pointy bit at the top of the hilt might be throwing you off.
The pointy bit at the top of the hilt might be throwing you off.
Technically three. =P
But yeah, I've been HIGHLY suspicious ever since they released this footage. They say it's Tatooine but if you watch that Star Destroyer in the background it crashes to the surface exactly like the one from the teaser trailer.
The more I look at that photo the more I think the guy with the mustache is Biggs. I could see them wanting to expand on his character to heighten the impact of his loss in Star Wars.
I'm cautiously excited about this. Trevorrow has the right amount of enthusiasm but Jurassic World had some strange gaps and elements from previous drafts that made it into the final film that stuck out like sore thumbs.

My big question is how closely will this lead up to the original film (basically how prequelly will this be)?
What they told us at Star Wars Celebration was that this is the first two paragraphs from the opening crawl:
It is a period of civil war.
Rebel spaceships, striking
from a hidden base, have won
their first victory against
the evil Galactic Empire.
During the battle, rebel
spies managed to steal secret
plans to the Empire's
ultimate weapon, the DEATH
STAR, an armored space
station with enough power to
destroy an entire planet.
Gareth Edwards said he wanted to put the WARS back in Star Wars. So the crew he's hired are all veterans of award winning gritty war films.
Here's the full panel with Gareth and Kathleen Kennedy and here's the teaser they showed us.
You have no idea how psyched I am for this film.
Though it's not from a lack of trying. The Marvel team has been begging for permission to resurrect Jaxxon.

I always thought Goofy was the bigger draw in the original cartoons....

Since we're on the topic, I might as well pull out the visual evidence from the last discussion:

I’m really not into the Darkhorse recolour/cut/paste job and much prefer the original newspaper serial format.
While I too prefer them in their original strip format. It should be noted that they actually got Al Williamson to come back and reformat it for them. He was involved at every level of the process: drawing new transitional pages and expanding panels. He even threatened to quit if they didn’t follow his color guide to the letter. So it’s something to keep in mind when considering the Dark Horse reprints.
Though it goes without saying that the same cannot be said for the initial Manning run.

I also think it's pretty amazing that they predicted Luke's black outfit several years before ROTJ. I doubt that it's anything but a coincidence, but it's still pretty interesting.
Actually, he's quite well known for following the comics. He's even been spotted purchasing the new Marvel run. There's also an established precedent of him borrowing from the comics. Pretty heavily in the case of the PT. As for the OT, there was an early Marvel story simply titled THE EMPIRE STRIKES! that was published well before the release of Empire. So I wouldn't be surprised if he borrowed that or had the Marvel depiction of young Obi-wan on his mind while working on ROTJ.

I'd rather see spinoffs of what happened after ROTJ and before TFA, instead of pre-ANH.
Yes! To unamochilla2 you listen!
But what I'd really like to see are films set during the Rebellion. Lots of potential for great war films. Which is why I'm really psyched for Rogue One.
Turns out the character's name is Teedo not Teebo. Oh and his mount is called a Luggabeast.
There were at least two Asian pilots at the battle of Endor.
Someone disagreed with me before but I still maintain that Hulu has all of the extant Classic Who. At least from the Fourth Doctor on and this is Hulu Plus I'm referring to. Every arc I've checked has been accounted for.
Teebo? There's already a well established Teebo!

I already gave you Kylo Ren. Stop robbing from long neglected cartoons!
The most beautiful color grading I've seen on a modern film would have to be The Homesman. Beautiful, naturalistic and vibrant color for a very sad film.
I may be shying away from spoilers but ain't nothing going to keep me away from the trailer.
I think they went overboard with Threepio's arm. If it had just been his hand or a finger or a shoulder or something it would have been an interesting new quirk.
But the entire arm is a big distraction. If it was a smaller part it would make sense that they never got around to replacing the temporary spare but that arm just screams replace me.
I don't know about that. The events of Rogue One take place just before and lead directly into Star Wars. So its basically within a day or two before the start of the original film.
Yeah those are definitely from the Rogue One shoot. Awesome. =D
Yeah, I've been concerned about savestarwars.com for a while now. =/
I enjoyed about a half to 2/3rds of Chappie and then the whole thing fell apart. Left a bad taste in my mouth.
Trailers added for:
Maze Runner: The Scorch Trials
Time Lapse (Pretend this forum supports strikethrough)
Honorable mention goes to:

While they look sleek at first glance, an iota of scrutiny reveals a failure to stick to any real theme. Yoda for AOTC just makes no sense when the rest are villains.
Generic Stormtrooper instead of Boba Fett? Heck, if they wanted to stick to big bads they could have used Tarkin for SW and then Vader for ESB.
Ultimately, lazy floating head designs are always a fail.
Bonus points for dropping the episode numbers. But points docked for just slapping STAR WARS on each with the film's title underneath. Each cover should have had the film's title as a logo:
Most people no but Star Wars does have an usually high number of MUST-OWN-THEM-ALL fans.
