General Star Wars Random Thoughts Thread
Time

I’ve been to three or four now. I’d say it’s worth it. Even before Disney took over and there was nothing happening it was worth it. BUT NOW, with new Star Wars always on the horizon? Celebration is the best. Always dropping exclusive announcements/first looks. There’ll no doubt be a special teaser for TLJ that won’t be released to the public. Probably one for Han Solo as well. As well as ample opportunity to meet various cast and crew that have worked on the films/shows. There are always lots of panels going on. Too many to see all of the ones that you might want to. I’m actually quite upset I’m not able to go this year.

That said there are some downsides. A lot of times they’ll underestimate the popularity of something and book it to a smaller room. Which means missing out unless you get into line early. There are a lot of lines. Some people will line up over night to get into certain things. I also heard something about introducing stupid event wristbands this year? Sounds like it’ll be a mess.

But even with that, I still say it’s worth it. It’s always fun.

Sheryl Lee Narrates ‘Secret Diary of Laura Palmer’ For ‘Twin Peaks’ Audiobook

The diary chronicles Laura’s life from age 12 to her death at 17 and provides a harrowing backstory to the event that set the entire series in motion. In intimate diary entries, Laura goes from a happy and naïve tween to a tormented soul posing behind the phony smile of homecoming queen. Plagued by visions of a creepy man with long hair—a demonic presence she comes to know as “BOB”—Laura falls into a world of drug addiction, sexual promiscuity, and prostitution to escape. But as she’s swallowed deeper and deeper into the abyss, Laura is forced to question the reality of who and what BOB really is.

With hidden Easter eggs, glimpses at the origins of principal characters, and clues to the identity of her eventual killer, The Secret Diary of Laura Palmer is required listening for diehard fans of the original show, and essential background for the 2017 revival.

The Marvel Cinematic Universe

Er, The Guardians of the Galaxy is very much James Gunn’s baby. He’s not going to let it be compromised by executive meddling.

This, like the footage used in the Rogue One trailers is all the marketing department’s idea. They know that audiences loved Groot and so they’re emphasizing his character.

They also think the general audience is stupid, so of course they slapped baby Groot on there. “This poster doesnt have any pictures of the characters. How else are those dolts going to know what movie this is for?!?”

All that to say, you’re making a mountain out of a mole hill. 😛

oh and here’s The Extended Superbowl Trailer for anyone that missed it!
