I saw that presentation at Celebration. It looked great.

As luck would have it, Harrison Ford himself answered this very question earlier today.
Well aren't you a real pair of xenophobes. He's clearly the same species as Krelman!

I got to see that at a limited run re-release in theaters a few months ago. It picks up a little right after you quit but you got the gist of the film. =P

The thing is is that if a superhero movie just doesn't click for me, I'm not going to give any of its sequels a chance. I need satisfactory characterization right off the bat, otherwise that's all she'll write.
There's your problem right there. The first set of films were to establish the characters. The post-Avengers aka Phase 2 films have all been about character growth and dealing with the aftermath of the Battle of New York. Iron Man 3 has Tony Stark dealing with PTSD, Thor 2 is about the relationship between he and his brother and Cap2 is about Steve Rogers trying to find his place in the world.

I feel like Agents of SHIELD is wasted potential and I'd much rather see something focused on Agent Carter, Howard Stark and the formation of SHIELD.
You're in luck on that regard. They're in talks to create just that show.
As for AoS, as was said earlier in the thread it started off pretty wonky but it has definitely found its footing now.
Twister111 was pretty on the money earlier. As evidenced here:
How far into the planning of Agents of SHIELD did you know what would happen in Captain America: The Winter Soldier?
Maurissa Tancharoen: From the very beginning. We had the order to do a series about SHIELD and, literally, a day or two after that they said, “Oh, by the way, there’s a movie coming up that will affect your show.”
Jed Whedon: “Here, read this script.”
Tancharoen: “Read this script, and you’ll see what we’re talking about.”
Was there ever a discussion of whether or not you guys would have to play by those rules, or was it always a foregone conclusion?
Whedon: The great thing about the Marvel Universe is that it’s one universe. So, that’s the thing that makes it exciting. And that’s the opportunity we were given. And so this was obviously something we would have to incorporate. Right away, we saw both the challenges it posed and the opportunities it would bring.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Given the size and sweep of this change, is there anything about the show as we know it that’s sacred? Is there anything immune to the fallout?
Whedon: It’ll still be 43 minutes long.
Tancharoen: On Tuesdays at 8.
Whedon: "Nothing is sacred" is an important thing, so there’s jeopardy at all times.
Tancharoen: It’s safe to say that there will be a shift.
Judging from your post Johnny, it seems like you might not have seen The Winter Soldier yet. I would highly recommend it.
The video game adaptation of the first Amazing Spider-man had the real Rhino as a villain. I'm really curious how they're going to retcon that in the next game.
Seems like they're going to keep all of Spidey's villains based on advanced Oscorp tech.
Speaking of those misguided early attempts. Here's a fun little video that takes a look at a handful of them.

I think my favorite part of the universe isn't even the super hero movies. I know a lot of people felt let down by it but I am really enjoying Agents of Shield. In superhero movies before I always wondered how the big events effected people without powers and now I have got a whole show that if focused on just that and the latest plot arc that ties in with CATWS(A movie I hope to see tomorrow)has been great. What is more I like all the characters and it has been the most enjoyable show I have been able to watch this season.
I would have recommended seeing The Winter Soldier first before this last episode but yeah Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. is great. I have to admit, I gave up on it early on as they hadn't hit the right tone yet but I did always intend to go back. After seeing The Winter Soldier I had to see the impact that was going to have on the show. I was not disappointed. I was also delighted to find out the season isn't even over yet!

So what do you think of what’s come so far and where it’s going?
Does anyone keep up with STO? These updates seem to be getting pretty epic.
Princess Leia was a major inspirational figure for the Alliance. When she's addressed as Princess it's a reminder that she's the last royalty of world destroyed by the Empire.
I knew you'd love it! =P

Yeah I never understood the whole THX-1138 is lost thing. I saw the original a number of years ago and it certainly wasn't on VHS or laserdisc.
Where was it? I have a VHS version I recorded off of TCM (haven't watched it), maybe they'd show it again in HD?
Don't recall, as I said it was years ago. But probably the same source that this guy used.
I just know you guys will love this concept art for this newly revealed cancelled Darth Maul game!

That's a shame. Regardless, I'm holding out for the extended BD release that they usually do around Christmastime.
Yeah, I really don't understand why anyone would buy the two pack they just released. A year from now they'll have the whole Hobbit trilogy available.
I really love this movie as well as the one before it; much more than the LotR trilogy.

What about C Bear and Jamal?

In all seriousness, though it was an interesting technique. It's reminiscent of voice acting work--VAs aren't in the same room, delivering their character's lines to each other. They deliver them to the sound booth, and then the director tells them how wrong they did it, and makes them do it again, but this time angrier. Then the best takes are edited together, ba-da-bing. It's part of the expectation among voice actors, but not for live film actors because it's an entirely different set of skills (not unlike the difference between film and stage, or stage and opera).
All of the best productions make sure to have their cast record at the same time. Ask any voice actor and they'll tell you group sessions are the best. It's a shame they're the exception and not the norm.

Nobody 'forgot' about the Force. As presented in the original film, it is clear we are supposed to think that it was never widely known in the first place, and that the people who have heard of it probably always thought it was mythical rubbish anyway.
Exactly my point.
You could have said that in the first place, as I agree with that completely. =P
The Gunfighters was one of the worst things I've ever sat through. This is coming from someone who enjoys watching the Star Wars Holiday Special! Their accents are TERRIBLE and THAT STUPID SONG NEVER STOPS!!!!! Not to mention they couldn't even be bothered to be historically accurate. So much for being somewhat educational.
The Keys of Marinus was a bit of a drag. I'd recommend something like The Chase or The Tenth Planet over it.
The Daleks' Master Plan was pretty epic from what I recall.
I see someone who has forgotten about the Force.

I don't know if you can pin that one on the EU.
HAN: Hokey religions and ancient weapons are no match for a good
blaster at your side, kid.
LUKE: You don't believe in the Force, do you?
HAN: Kid, I've flown from one side of this galaxy to the other. I've
seen a lot of strange stuff, but I've never seen anything to make me
believe there's one all-powerful force controlling everything. There's
no mystical energy field that controls my destiny.
Ben smiles quietly
HAN: It's all a lot of simple tricks and nonsense.
