The Marvel Cinematic Universe
Time

This is just SPECTACULAR news.Though I do have some reservations.

Im not particularly excited that Pascal is still attached to the franchise. She hasn't exactly been a great steward for it the past 13 years. The Sinister Six fiasco being the biggest disappointment.

Secondly, I really don't like this reshuffling of Phase 3 to make room for a Spidey flick. Specifically what this means for the Inhumans now that they've officially been introduced in AoS.

Lastly, I wonder what affect this is going to have on Black Panther. I'd hate to see him completely overshadowed.

Still, it'll be great to see Spidey mixing it up with the rest of the gang.

You really need to read the original graphic novels. I don't know how they managed to stay fairly faithful but at the same time sap all of the entertainment out of those stories.

What killed Dark Knight Returns is they failed to put any of the emphasis or emotion into their delivery of the lines. Just awful execution.

If they're going to bring in another planet-destroying superweapon, then it should be scaled down, something relatively small and maneuverable -- a rocket with a cannon strapped to it, you could say --  not another moon-sized space station.

Pretty much exactly what I was thinking.  I'd rather it be a space gun than another Death Star.

 Like The Tarkin?

 Or The Sun Crusher?

Chris Weitz Joins Gareth Edwards’ ‘Star Wars’ Standalone Pic as Writer

Chris Weitz has come on board to pen Gareth Edwards’ “Star Wars” standalone movie for Disney and Lucasfilm.

He replaces Gary Whitta, who wrote the first draft of the script. Weitz’s involvement shouldn’t delay the start of production for the film, which is set for release on Dec. 16, 2016. Weitz was nominated for an Oscar for his work on the “About a Boy” adapted screenplay.

The film will be some sort of origin tale for a classic “Star Wars” character, with Boba Fett and Han Solo rumored to be possible routes, but more details of the story are unknown.

Edwards has been meeting with women, including Rooney Mara and Felicity Jones, for one of the female roles.

A new Indiana Jones?
Time

Everyone seems to forget Indiana has been played by others before. By at least four other actors in live action productions.

I thought Sean Patrick Flanery played a great Indy.

I have no qualms about casting a new Indiana Jones, I see it as about the same as casting a new James Bond.

What I wouldn't care for is a remake or reboot.
