I said this on the FB copy and want to see if I'm just crazy: am I the only person who thinks the X-Wing should be starting to slip into the swamp as R2 to turning to watch it? 1. Why would he turn to look if he didn't suspect something and 2 I think it goes from perfectly still and all the way out of the water to the last part of it sinking rather quickly.

I completely agree. Ady, what do you think?

Also, in the shot directly following the part where Luke fails to raise the X-Wing, Yoda closes his eyes in disappointment. When he closes his eyes, his right eye closes much quicker than his left. Is this going to be left in, or will you fix that?

As I said before, amazing work ady. I hate to deviate from the recent clip, but I have a quick question about the Battle of Hoth. I remember seeing ady saying something about shooting/adding ground troops to the battle. Does anyone know if he means adding Snowtroopers to the shots or adding more Rebel Soldiers, or both?

Just Rebels, if I'm not mistaken.

Hey Ady, that was an amazing clip, but I noticed that on the Stardestroyer that releases Needa's shuttle (great work on the new shuttle, by the way!), the two "prongs" - the two curved sticks on the underside of the SD - flicker a bit around the 5:19 mark on the YouTube video.

Also, the Yoda enhancements are absolutely fantastic, but have you ever considered doing some occassional minor movements on Yoda's brow? Maybe a slightly raised or furrowed brow would give him a bit more expression in some quick moments? I think a slightly raised brow would look great for the "That is why you fail" line. Because the mouth movements and blinks are pretty much perfect, but a bit more brow movement would totally sell the lifelike-ness of Yoda.

That's it, I'm leaving! First I try to butter up to you guys and you say I'm weak. Then I stand by my principles and you tell me I'm an idiot. I done talking to you guys. I'll tell you how I really think. There is nothing wrong with my posts. You guys are being picky a-holes. I didn't realize originaltrilogy is a gated community of snobs. I'm communicating through Adywan exclusively for now on.

Goodbye forever

PS: Don't bother private messaging me because I will never read it!

Calling you weak was a joke by Histeria. And no one called you an idiot, I said that your suggestion was idiotic, because you haven't supported it by any sound reasoning whatsoever. But if you wanna leave, godspeed to ya.

I don't take back my comment about Vader saying "No Luke, I am your father." I really do want Adywan to make Darth Vader say it that way. I was actually surprised the way you guys took that one. I thought you guys would be in agreement with me on that. I don't even think Adywan took that one seriously. But I suppose it's better to correct misquotes than to correct the movie to misquotes ;-).

Wow dude. That has to be the most idiotic reasoning for the most idiotic suggestion for this edit. So you're suggesting that Ady change the line because some schoolchildren misquoted it? What is wrong with you?

Adywan, I think you should just give up on this Wampa. It's taking too long and you don't even know if this is going to work? I thought the one in the movie sufficed. I think you should have just edited using that.

Wow, you're so whiny and impatient. If Ady went through all that trouble do you really think he's gonna just drop it?

I never liked Han's "I know" line after Leia says "I love you" either. I think George Lucas was right having Han say "I love you too." "I know" is too cheesy. I heard the line was filmed, do you have access to that line Adywan? Perhaps you could replace it with that?

By the way, if you believed what I just said, you just got punk'd.

Haha, nice try recovering from the suggestion you gave earlier. Don't worry, we all forgave you for that... mostly.

R.I.P. Irvin Kershner, thank you so much for The Empire Strikes Back. :'(

I got about ten minutes into the commentary for Star Wars before Lucas said something ridiculously untrue and I stopped.  It never occurred to me to listen to the other commentary tracks.  Now I'll have to.  For Kersh.

Out of curiosity, what was it that Lucas said?

I'm just curious, has there been any moment in the film that hasn't been argued about in this thread?

Hmm, that's a good question, I actually had to think a while about it. I don't recall anyone arguing about the part in the movie where Zev Senesca finds Han and Luke in the snow.

What if the X-wings don't make a lot of wind when taking off?  Come to think of it, most of the ships in Star Wars take off without much external disturbance.

you are totally right, that's why I also talked about a slight tremblor, or something. There's something in that scene that makes me feel like if something was missing. the same feeling some scenes involving lightgames in Close encounters of the third kind give me.

Mithrandir, you can't just add a "tremblor" as you call it without reshooting the scene with a breeze blowing. Besides, the scene is just fine as it already is.

Greetings,

I thought a first post in this thread was only appropriate as I was introduced to this site through the Fanedit Forums after creating an edit of one of the Prequels.

And I bring a gift...the removal of two droids from the elevator scene in Episode 3 (this is just a fun little edit):

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=n_m-oXTz9cI

Take care!

That's much better! My only suggestion is to cut some more of Obi-Wan's lines, specifically such lines as "Always on the move" (it's a strange line, you should just show him sighing as Anakin gets out of the elevator) and "Oh, it's you" (its obvious that he recognizes him when he shuts off his lightsaber, he doesn't need to say it).

I don't want to harp on it, but do you have a response to this?

Hey Ady, rewatching the trailer again, I noticed that in the shot where Leia, Lando, and Chewie run along the Bespin balcony, R2 seems to be stuck in the hallway, and you can see his back leg stop for a moment and move back and forth as if stuck. Also, in that same scene, the R2 element slightly "bleeds" onto the wall that is in front of him, which is noticeable because the wall's edge stops being straight when R2 passes behind it:

Also, is the blurriness of the running characters in this scene fixed? I know you've said a while ago that the ILM elements botched the superimposed character elements in the SE, but the blurry outlines they have in the ESB:R trailer are not very convincing; it looks like Leia, Lando and Chewie were pasted in the scene.

What you saw in the trailer was an early version of this shot before the final rotoscoping . The rotoscoping done in the SE was awful but i couldn't use the GOUT to fix this because it was just too bad quality. The R2 issue with the wall has been fixed. The strange motion you see with R2 as if he is jumping around is due to the fact that they didn't bother stabilizing the footage before rotoscoping him and then they did a very bad job at changing the position where he stops because they had changed the position of the elements from the original. I've stabilized R2 and he turns a lot smoother now

 Awesome! Thanks Ady!

Vader23 said:

On ROTJ you should use stop motion animation with star wars figures to add a better lightsaber fight.Have Luke vs Vader where Luke wins by jamming his lightsaber into Vader's chest.

Have Vader fall to his knees as Luke force grabs Vader's lightsaber and crosses the two lightsabers to Vader's neck (like how Anakin did to Dooku).

Then have the emperor say, kill him and become my new apprentice. Then have Luke turn around and say,no,I am a Jedi. Then have the emperor say,so be it,as the emperor pulls out his own lightsaber and then we get to see Luke vs the emperor where Luke uses two lightsabers to fight him.

Then the emperor uses force lightning to knock the lightsabers out of Luke's hands and zaps Luke with a bolt of lightning as well.

When Luke is lying on the ground have the emperor walk over and is about to strike the Jedi down with his lightsaber, until it is blocked with another red lightsaber.

As the emperor turns and sees Vader blocking the blade. Then we get to see Vader vs the emperor (red vs red).

No. Just no.
