Hi Sluggo!
What format is the clip in? If you PM it to me I’d be happy to take a look.

Hi Sluggo!
What format is the clip in? If you PM it to me I’d be happy to take a look.
Oh, okay.
Don’t get why them being women is relevant at all though.
It’s relevant to the history of the trope, as it’s typically women dying to advance the man plot/character arc. Val died so Woody could… punch Han I guess? And L3 died so they could cannibalize her for parts.
I think you’ve missed the point of both deaths by a wide mark, but I’ll let someone else explain. It’s too tiring.
Have a nice day Mala.
To that point, they also killed off Woody.
This movie was fantastic and I’m going to do my best to ignore some of the posts in here because if I thought like some of these posts think I’d live in a much less fun and much more dull world.
8/10 for now, hard to fully rate the day after with just one viewing. The stakes are also very low so it’s hard to rate in context of every other SW film, which all have much higher stakes.
The only thing I’d change is Maul, which is extraordinarily stupid. There are tons of people who only watch the movies, so I’m sure they’re either thinking “who the hell is that?” or “why is the dead sith from TPM not dead?” And I haven’t seen any CW episodes past the first season, so although I know he’s not dead, it’s just from a few comments here and I have no idea how he survived…nor do I care. It’s dumb.
Luckily it seems it would be super easy to cut him out of the film. You can keep the dialogue and the initial shot of him, just cut out the close up where he reveals himself. So she’s just working for someone mysterious, and not the bad guy from TPM that is dead in my canon.
Of course that’s not going to work if they make the sequel I want, dammit.
One other thing, my wife pointed out that they should have let Woody live, show him going to Tatooine, and start a Cantina. And I love this idea. In ANH Han throws him some credits and apologizes for the mess. 😃
And one other other thing, Kathleen is one of the best things to ever happen to Star Wars.
It means everything you said was obvious. Ric Olie = Captain Obvious.
I was just mentioning the connotation in my country. It was obvious it had nothing to do with yours.
Solo was great, but I have no idea how to rank it amongst the others.
no positive comments.
Mine too! And my college. Ugh.
That’s silly too.
C’mon the Redmen!
Most of us don’t use that term in the US anymore lol.
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/St._John's_Red_Storm
Prior to the 1994–95 school year, the university’s nickname was the St. John’s Redmen, which referenced the red uniforms worn by its teams in competition. The name was interpreted as a Native American reference in the 1960s, and the university did have a mascot (adorned in Native American dress), which eventually led to the team’s name change to the Red Storm. The change happened at a time when there was mounting pressure on colleges and universities to adopt names more sensitive to Native American culture.
I don’t think Liverpool players are going to be no longer be referred to as Redmen (the colour of the kit they’ve worn for over 100 years) by their fans due to an interpretation in the US on an insensitive term referring to Native Americans used in a completely different context.

And the award for most silly and over the top ban goes to…
I can’t wait for the official explanation. Id go so far as to say I officially think this the the stupidest fucking thing I’ve ever seen the administration/moderation do in this increasingly joyless forum that (coincidentally I’m sure) gets even more joyless whenever the founder is around, but I’d hate to find myself also banned for daring to disagree. After all the thing calipso said and got banned for is much more respectful than what that would be if I said that.
Maybe have a word with the joyless people who derailed the thread?
The idea that my questioning the relevance of a thread makes me joyless is pretty silly.
And give me some examples of the people that Obama “associated with” that were even remotely as dangerous as criminals like Alex Jones and Roy Moore? I’d be shocked if you could name one that’s even in the same league as those guys. J
This.
Maybe both parties used to be equally bad and I just agreed with the ideas on one side, but the Republican party has gone completely off the deep end and if you don’t see it I don’t know what to tell you.
So the movie was worth more previously but has lost value over time?
Thread needs more feedback loops.
Both sides are definitely full of it. I think one side is significantly fuller of it but I might just be full of it myself.
Any further posts on the subject will be deleted and temp bans will be issued.
I don’t know what either of you guys expected.
I hope you both come back after your bans though, since I like both you guys. And this really isn’t a hill worth dying on.
(On DS9 S3E21 “The Die is Cast”)
I’ve been reading Garak’s interactions with Bashir as being, in a Cardassian way, rather flirtatious. I assume nothing comes of this later in the show, but that feels like such a missed opportunity. O well.
'90s Trek wasn’t quite ready for sausage fests. Taco parties, on the other hand. . . .
I’m way late to this post…
Come on man.
Why can’t I stop clicking this?
I rank that post second.
I can’t decide if I love or hate that pun.
I’ve moved away from the idea that fan edits can ever actually replace the films sufficiently (except Frinks).
Hey thanks!
C’mon the Redmen!

This is fantastic.
