Opening text would have to be altered to mention that Luke has returned to Dagobah to continue his training.
After opening text, we pan down to Darth Vaders Super Stardestroyer near the uncompleted Death Star
Cut to Darth Vader in his mediation chamber talking to Luke telepathically through the force urging him to join him on the darkside.
cut to the deleted scene of Luke in the cave working on his new light saber. Edit the exterior of the cave to resemble Dagobah. Luke shakes the voice in his head and continues working and then igniting his saber.
Cut back to the Super Stardestroyer and we see Vader's shuttle leave for the Death Star (why was he leaving from a standard Stardestroyer originally?) continue to the original opening scene with Vader and Jerrod.
After that, cut to Yoda's hut on Dagobah for Yoda's death scene. After Luke says "So I am a Jedi." Cut Yoda's line about having to face Vader again and just cut to him saying "When gone am I, the last of the Jedi will you be." This way we get the idea that Luke has continued and now finished his training with Yoda. Yoda dies, the conversation with Obi-Wan is had and then cut to the Emperors arrival on the Death Star. That scene plays out like normal and then cut to the droids on Tattooine and continue from there.
This would give the beginning of the film a more menacing tone with Vader still haunting Luke and more of a build up to the action at Jabba's palace. Agree? Disagree?
I'm actually really digging that idea. The lightsaber building scene is also a great way to introduce the "new" Luke.
Ok, I'll redo the crawl. I won't have it done right away, but I'll definitely use the original star field.
If I have time, I'll get it done tomorrow, sound good?

Just a simple little program called "Star Wars TSG" (Google it, it's free). The only problem is that it's only compatible with Macs. It's a pretty good program, if your a Mac person I'd suggest trying it out.

Probably because I'm one of the youngest users here, the whole "Greedo Shooting First" has never really irked me that much, but I still don't care for it. The first time I really remember seeing the films was the DVD release of the Special Editions, so when I saw the changes, I always thought they were present in the original films. (The closest to the original films I've ever seen is adywan's edit) But even when seeing the DVDs, I think that was back in 2004, so I was like 9, the thing that I didn't like was the Hayden/Sebastian switch. I knew Hayden wasn't suppose to be there because back then I had these action figures of all the ghosts sitting on the Endor bridge, including the Sebastian Anakin. So I never understood why Hayden was there....
So I'm actually curious to see what "wacky" changes Lucas does to these films on the Blu-Ray, because in my opinion, you can't really screw-up as bad as the Hayden/Sebastian thing, but you never know with Ol' George-y!
