Even in the prequels, Boba Fett is not a clone
Time

Vaderisnothayden, I think people really don't mind that you think otherwise. Different points of view are always welcome. But if a lot of folks seems "angry" about your posts, well, it must be for something... I think it is the way you answer. You don't discuss, you usualy just tell your arguments (most of them starting by "No,...) . That is only half of a discussion.

I was watching AOTC again in almost 5 years... ugh!

...and it's also a very confusing film. I mean, it basilcally boils down to the Republic using an enemy army of clones to fight the sepratists, which made the clone army in the first place. Plus, isn't it interesting that Plapatine is fighting against himself during the Clone wars? I think Hayden is the least of our problems in this movie.

To me Palpatine is using the old politician trick to "divide and rule". He created the separatists to fight the republic, then when he doesn't need them by the end of ROTS, he send Vader to kill them.

But yeah, AOTC was "kind of fun" to watch on the big screen, IMO. But it is easily the worst SW movie.

Star Wars Time
Time

One thing that always bugs me about time in Star Wars was.... what is the reference?

I mean if we are talking about years, months and days... we assume that it refers to OUR earth standard. It's okay to talk with this reference between fans for an easy understanding. But it's silly to think about time in the whole Star Wars galaxy with our earth as reference.

So my question is: does the SW galaxy has a time reference? Something every sectors, or planets can refer?

Ah, you are right, TMBTM. Owen's dislike of Jedi, Obi-Wan, etc., was clearly explained in that single abstract gesture.

The scene was ridiculous anyway. This young married couple are out enjoying their favorite past time of starting up at the sky while standing in their backyard, and suddenly out of the darkened desert a strange cloaked and hooded figure riding a retarded looking animal emerges. Instead of the gruff farmer man grabbing his rife and going to see what this cloaked figure wants, he sends his petite and delicate looking little wife to check it out while he continues to stare at the setting suns. The young woman approaches the cloaked and shadowy stranger, and he hands her a bundle of something. Oh! It's a little baby! Mommy was wrong! Babies don't come from storks! They come from shady looking men in cloaks mounted upon stupid looking beast of burden! She turns her back to the shadowy man and runs back to her husband. "Owen, Owen, look! All our efforts in trying various positions has finally paid off! I knew I wasn't barren!" "Beru, what are you talking about? Who was that dangerous looking figure who wandered in from the desert? What's that bundle you're holding?" "Oh... I have no idea who he was... But look! He brought us a baby!" "Oh, that's nice dear. Raise him as soon as you can, I am thinking of letting go of a few of our hired hands and need all the extra help I can get. My word Beru! This sunset is beautiful!"

Mmm, maybe Obi-wan gave them a "phone call" before, don't you think? ;)

But as I said you don't need that approach to get around Luke getting out in time, you just have him leave earlier.

Does no one like my idea of not showing him leave at all?  Have Leia's revelation that she feels that Luke is alive be both a reveal of her untrained Force ability and a revelation to the audience that Luke made it off.  So we'd see Luke mourning his father and next time burning the remains, not: mourning his father, flying a shuttle out of an exploding hanger bay at the last second, burning the remains.

Or if you really wanted, instead of the Falcon flying in front of the DS explosion, have it be Luke's shuttle.

I either need to figure out how to do some editing with the programs I have, or ask someone else to mock it up for me...

I think it's a good idea to not see Luke leaving the Death Star. It's a good exemple of "less is more".

here :)

Still i like the sky has a bit more blue to popup

-Angel

Unlike most other times, I have to disagree with you Angel. In adywan's shot, the mountain and blue in the upper right balance the concentrated dark shape of Luke and the tauntaun in the bottom right. Add too much blue sky, and it overpowers the image. It's the first thing you see. Whereas, in ady's shot, the eye naturally hits on the dark splotch in the bottom right first, and then moves smoothly to the background where a large mountain gives the scene a dramatic sense of scale.

Oh yeah. This is a Lord of the Rings shot... The scope Star Wars deserves.

And to me the real blue sky should only appears the day AFTER luke is saved. It's a kind of bad weather before it, and the night starts to fall soon.

EDIT: first I thought the picture on the right was a Vaderios moke up, but it is from the original ESB, right? God, I can't say that I am a fan anymore...!

I love the achievement Axia!'

And TMBTM, I think that maybe Ady can tweak everyone's facial expressions using his "cantina" technique to give them more solemness.

Mmm, it could work. Even if it sounds a bit "Lucasish" to play with facial expressions of real actors.

I still  think we need an explicite reference to Lando after his death. If not it would look a bit like a "plot hole". That's why I came up with the statue idea. It's "quite easy" to do (I think!), not much screen time,  and dialogue free.

About Lando's death planned by Adywan.

In some way the death of Lando, and so the destruction of the Falcon, not only will bring Lando character full circle (betrayal / then die for his friends) but it will also bring some kind of character development to Han Solo. It would be like the smuggler's life he always knew died that day.

I say go kill Lando and destroy the Falcon!

But we need some shots of people reacting to his death. It can't just be "Lando is dead. Okay, now forget about that, let's have a party". SO may I suggest something. If Adywan keep the final shots from the celebration across the galaxy, I'd very much like to see a statue of Lando being raised on Bespin. Kind of mirror the Emperor's statue fall.

Padme's Episode I hair styles
Time

Vaderisnothayden, while I totaly respect your feeling about the costume of the PT, and I understand some of your arguments, I wanted to say that you can perfectely stand by your opinion without quoting every others arguments and saying that you don't agree. It's kind of boring to read, an easy way to contradict arguments out of context, and tend to make you look like you'll always answer by the negative, even when others arguments are pretty valid. And before you say "pretty valid to you!" let me just say that it is obvious that, in a forum like this one, everyone is talking for himself. The real point of a discussion here is not show the others how wrong they are, nor even to just express ourself (who really cares about what "I" think after all?), it's to discover new opinions.

I never felt that the costumes of the PT could be such a big problem to someone. And I found interesting what you said, even if I don't feel the same. I just don't feel that you're much interested in other opinion than yours. Maybe I could be wrong, if so I apologize. It's just the way I feel when I read your posts. Sorry to sound too preachy! And for my bad english.

The Prequel Radical Redux Ideas Thread
Time

The one thing that is really bugging me with ROTS is zombie Moff Tarkin (is there a way of making him look more like Peter Cushing?)

Maybe using one or two shots of Cushing earlier movies.

But  we don't know this character yet by the time of episode 3, I don't think that it's an important change to replace him with a younger Cushing. Would be nice though.

Idea: The Turning Star Wars Into A Television Show Fun Thread.
Time
Maybe we could do a series with no real sens of continuity, like a Star Wars consecution project with no end. Just put a text settings the time where the action takes place at the begining, then make your 20 or 40 minutes Star Wars episode with any Star Wars footage you want. That way anyone could do an episode of this show when he wants. Of course we'd loose the serial aspect and the cliffhangers. But it would be nice to see all the new little stories that editors can bring with the same material (à la EU). But maybe that would be another project.
