TMBTM's "The War of the Stars"; a Star Wars "grindhouse" cut (Released)
Time

This fanedit is now available on VIMEO as a single video (and better quality than the two parts video previously uploaded there). Check my blog for more info (link on the post above)
My silent Star Wars fanedits also were re-uploaded in slightly better quality (their VIMEO links remains the same). And I’ll re-upload TWOTS part II next week, too.

What 'a Star Wars Story' / anthology / spinoff film would you like to see?

I think I needed to see Episodes 7-8-9 being made but I don’t need to see the anthology movies. Until they prove me to be amazing I just see them as bonus. Although I must say that the idea of Rogue One is pretty smart to start those movies. I really want to see this one. But a Han Solo movie? Yeah, I’d like to see Anthony Ingruber in the role, but that’s it. A Boba Fett movie? Not interested much. A Obi-Wan movie? Why not but I’m not all sweaty about it either. I think I’m more interested by a strong idea or concept than picking up a character and make a story around him, that’s why Rogue One is fine by me.
I think a movie about the birth of the Rebellion would be interesting but I suppose it’s alredy kind of covered by the series Rebels. So I would go way back in time, before Yoda’s birth an tell the story of the first Jedi temple… although this story could possibly be told to us by Luke Skywalker in Episode 8.

Episodes 2 and 3 Reinterpreted (Obi-wan's Affair)

Meh.

If I’m going to reinterpret the prequels to make them “way more watchable”, I’ll just run with the idea that they’re in-universe schlockumentaries made by some Uwe Boll-esque hack (let’s call him Uwe Uwe Bollinks) who never read an actual history text in his life.

Haha, I think of the PT as “Canonical legend”.
Meaning that it is “canon” in the sens that the later movies can refer to events happening during the PT, but if there are some continuity problems, then, well, it’s because the events told are too old and blurry in the past now, and the director of the movies could not possibly get everything right. A bit like anachronisms that can be found in peplums.

Star Wars Saga: Silent Film Edition (Released)

Looking forward to a TFA installment. Please say it will happen.

Hey, why not. It’s just that I can’t remember exactly the plugins I used in the 6 first edits to get that old movie look. But maybe I can find it back.
(A third War of the Stars could also be possible but I’d prefer to wait at least until Episode 8 to be sure of the goal and how to do it)

So who is this Smoke then? Someone new or a mask concealing someone very old?

Not sure if anyone has said this, but:

If you play the Darth Plagues (spelling?) opera song (I cannot remember what is called) and Snoke’s music from TFA, it’s almost the same. Not sure if this is coincidence, but it’s interesting, to state the least.

AND Kylo Ren refers to Snoke as being “wise”…
(and in Episode III Palpatine called him “Darth Plagueis the Wise”)

there’s still at least 4 new memorable themes that come to my mind: Kylo Ren/First Order, Rey, Resistance March, and Jedi Steps, all of which I really enjoy.

And that’s just as many memorable themes as I can list from from Empire: Imperial march, asteroid field, battle of Hoth, Yoda. And apart from the Emperor’s theme, what memorable music is in Jedi (and don’t say Jedi rocks 😉), what have the prequels other than duel of the fates, the trade federation march, love across the stars and battle of heroes?

THIS.
First time I saw the movie no major themes jumped at me, that’s true, but after listening to the score just 2 or three times and watching the movie a second time, everything is revealed to my hears. Kylo Ren/First Order, Rey, Resistance March, and Jedi Steps ARE the major themes indeed, and very good ones (although the resistance march is weaker compared to the Imperial march, of course, and even the Trade Federation march).
Anyway, Star Wars always have the majority of the music that just follows the action superbly without stealing the show AND some major themes that pops at key moments. I don’t think TFA is any different. It’s just that I think Williams was told to use some old themes from the OT more than in the PT. And rightfully so. TFA is an “homage deluxe” to the OT, so there are cool new themes, but they indeed are diluted in all the great themes we already know. Even the superb Jedi Steps at the very end can’t resist of being followed directly by the Force theme. It’s not fair for Jedi Steps. But it does not means this new music is not splendid.

The Force Awakens 3D vs. 2D
Time

I’m gonna see The Force Awakens in 2D. I don’t support 3D if it the movie was shot in 2D and then converted to 3D in Post-Production.

Even if the director WANTS to use 3D convertion? For example I heard Nolan saying that if he ever releases a movie in 3D it will probably be a convertion because he thinks he will have a better control on the effects he wants.

How you pictured Anakin pre-PT
Time

I don't think I ever pictured Anakin as a teenager or even a very young adult. I always pictured him as 35 yo dude, at least, maybe even 40, who was trained by Obi-Wan Kenobi and always was a friend to him for years and years until something happens and THAT's when the movie start...

But I guess I always was wrong because Obi-Wan says that he hoped he could have trained Anakin as well as Yoda and he failed. So I guess Anakin always was quite young dude in Lucas's mind when he turns to the dark side. But it's not how I pictured him for some reasons.

Idea & Info: Star Wars Deleted Scenes - Reincorporated?
Time

Thanks for your work Team Negative 1. Looks great. I don't understand what the problem is with people asking if there will be a release and if those scenes will be put back in the movies etc. Of course once the work is done it will be for people to see, what would be the point if not? And if some want to have them back in the movies they are welcomed to make a fanedit.

Personally I'd love to see the extended footage of the ROTJ space battle, esp. the new pilots. With a little creativity and some colorizing, it could really be awesome. New CGI effects for the ships would be great, but I realize that's stretching it a bit... ;) (dreaming of Y-Wings making strafing runs on that Star Destroyer like in the story boards)

I put them back in The War of the Stars II, The Future in Motion fanedit.. But this is a fanedit that plays with the story, it's not really ROTJ. But if you want to have a look at what this could look once those deleted scenes are reincoporated then WOTS II is a thing to watch I guess. (did not colorized the B&W pilot. I tried, but got bored. I colorized the B&W Dagobah scenes from ESB though.)

The deleted scenes are not cleaned. They are just color corrected to match the GOUT.

I'll put WOTS I on vimeo this week, and probably WOTS II next week. So, if vimeo allows those videos to stay online, then people could easily watch almost all the deleted scenes back in the three movies (at least those versions of the three movies..)

(you can also find the DVD versions at fanedit.info)
