This would require fx work beyond what I’m capable of of, however, in my edit I intend to have Anakin remain on Tatooine until the end of the film. This would be acheived through edits, rotoscoping Anakin out of the Maul/ Qui-Gon confrontation and replacing Qui-Gon with Obi-Wan when Anakin leaves his mother (this scene would now serve as part of the closing montage of the movie. Thoughts?

I also like this clip Snooker posted a while back with a new intro for Anakin:

I really like this idea of Anakin racing twice and loosing the first time.
I was watching it again today and thought about what might happen next…so I threw this together:

This is a great mock-up, I’m not a huge fan of the slow-mo, but other than that great work!

The Emperor should be a hologram when declaring the Republic is now an Empire. I like the idea from the original ANH adaptation (I think), about the Emperor locking himself way from the masses. It would also show the Senate how “dangerous” the Jedi are. I feel he shouldn’t be seen in the flesh again after the Jedi attack, except when with Anakin/Vader.

It would be cool to see Star Destroyers added to the skies on Coruscant, really emphasising the miliary presence.

I’d love to see a mock up of the Jedi Temple with greenery and vines growing over it.

I’ve always liked the idea of Dooku being just a rogue Jedi, because it makes Dooku a more complex character. I think a big issue with that though is that it would contradict Dooku’s portrayal in the Clone Wars, for those who enjoy the show.

I kinda wish there was a way to have Dooku aligned with Sidious, but imply that maybe Dooku has joined the Sith with the intention of trying to destroy it from within. Like, maybe that was his motivation for joining Sidious initially and he thought he would be strong enough to resist the temptations of the dark side, but as the war goes on, we see Dooku becoming more and more cruel.

Some of the new canon material, like the recent Master and Apprentice novel, implies that Dooku believed he might be the Chosen One, so this would kind go along with that idea. In this way, Dooku’s conversation with Obi-Wan about wanting to destroy the Sith would actually be true.
Maybe if you were to cut/alter the portion of their conversation about the Trade Federation being betrayed by “the dark lord” and coming to Dooku for help, and maybe replace it with something that one could piece together about him finding the dark lord and joining him.

Maybe when he almost kills Obi-Wan, you could have Dooku say “I’m sorry, Obi-Wan”.

And then in Revenge of the Sith, right before Anakin kills him, maybe Dooku could start trying to say something, like wait/stop/no/he is-, some variation of that.

I kind of like the idea of Dooku joining the dark side in the belief that it was a necessary evil, but being corrupted along the way. And it wouldn’t blatantly contradict the Clone Wars, because you could still keep his red lightsaber and him working with Sidious.

This above is more or less how I intend to represent Dooku in my edit (though he won’t be a Sith). He’s aware of Palpatine, and his machinations, obviously certain things will have to be inferred due to the material available. I thought by adding Dooku to the Senate scene in TPM it draws a link between him and Palpatine, and the fact that he turns and walks away will show his disillusionment with the Senate.

He would be wielding a blue sabre in my edit.

On another note, I always felt Obi-Wan should be wielding Qui-Gon’s green blade at the start of Attack of the Clones.

I saw a while back that someone on these boards added Count Dooku to the funeral pyre scene in TPM. Could someone possibly mock-up Dooku being present during the Queen’s plea to the Senate, then when she proposes the Vote of No Confidence in the Chancellor, Dooku walks away. I’m hoping to include this is in my 3-1 prequel fan edit “The Fallen.”

THE FALLEN : a 3-in-1 non-linear edit of the Prequel Trilogy
Time

I have an idea for a 3-1 nonlinear edit of the prequels, which begins with Anakin and Obi-Wan dueling, and the audience later learns that Vader is Anakin. In a way, it’s the reverse of the story Obi-Wan tells Luke. I bend the narrative of the three films into one cohessive narrative that doesn’t raise plot points it never answers or resolves. It also wont answer and questions that are later revealed in ROTJ, such as twins, Padme’s fate, etc.

The link below is the Opening of this edit. It’s current title is The Fallen, but I’m debating changing it to The Skywalker. We begin with Anakin and Obi-Wan battling on Mustafar, there’s no standing on floating robots, no force push across the room or saber changing. It’s clean, straight forward, and much more in line with the OT. I’ve also removed all the dialogue.

WIP. Incomplete audio.

Opening shot borrowed from the Battle of Scarif.

The Cut/ Change List So Far. (I will be adding more to this in the coming weeks.)

This edit of the Prequel Trilogy will focus on Obi-Wan and Palpatine, and their battle for Anakin’s soul.

The film will open with Anakin (who we only know as Vader from the crawl) fighting Obi-Wan and losing.

TWENTY YEARS EARLIER:

Obi-Wan and Qui-Gon arriving on the Federation ship.
We first see him pod-racing on Tatooine.
Anakin won’t be a slave.
He will have already one against Subulba when Qui-Gon first encounters them.
Anakin offers them his prize money to repair their ship.
Count Dooku will be present during Queen Amidala’s plea to the Senate. He turns and leaves after the Queen calls for the Vote of No Confidence in Valorum. (Will need help on this one.)
Obi-Wan and Qui-Gons dialogue from the woods on Naboo now takes place on the balcony of the Jedi Temple. "A far wiser man… " etc
Obi-Wan insists he is ready to face the trials so that Anakin can become Qui-Gon’s apprentice. Qui-Gon is surprised by this.
Mid-Chlorians will remain, but I’m going to make them a consistent part of the plot. It’s my intention for them to have a more mystical feel/ explanation.
We visit the Gungan city for the first time when the Queen returns to Naboo.
We don’t see the Queen’s explanation of her the plan.
Obi-Wan doesn’t promise Qui-Gon he’ll train Anakin, he does so of his own accord. Qui-Gon will fade away. (will need help with this.)
After the battle of Naboo, Palpatine commissions the clone army.

TEN YEARS LATER:

Obi-Wan journeys to Kamino to inspect the latest troops.
Senator Amidala having declared her planet a democracy, returns to the Capital to plead a peaceful resolution with the Separatists.
Cut down on as much dialogue and exposition as possible.
The chase through the city is streamlined, cut down on the defying of physics, keeping it more or less in the relm of the OT.
Colour correct Coruscant at night to give it a more Blade Runner feel, darker, dirtier.

That’s cool. Where did you get that opening shot from?

Here’s another random idea. I’ve tried to think of ways to make it clearer that Sidious’ “deformed” face is really his true face that has been corrupted by his powerful connection to the dark side. His “Palpatine” face merely being a mask he wears using Sith alchemy or whatever.

Cheers. The opening shot is from the fan edit Battle of Scarrif, I believe.

I agree there needs to be an indication that Palpatines true face is his ancient face, I was thinking it might be easier to give him yellow eyes during the “ironic isnt it” close up during the opera scene.

I’m toying with an idea, perhaps for a 2 in 1 edit of Clones and Sith. What if the Opera scene with Anakin and Palpatine takes place before Dooku kidnaps Palpatine. The order of events would be;

  • Opera Scene, story of Darth Plaigues.
  • Nightmare (new nightmare scene)
  • Anakin wakes up to the sound of alarms (maybe Artoo going off/ or the voice of Obi-Wan coming over a com-link)
  • Anakin climbs into his starfighter (from leaving for Mustafar), use Artoo and Threepio to establish that the Chancellor has been kidnapped.
  • Padme standing, looking at the burning Senate building (replace Jedi temple). Maybe add flashes of space battle to sky.
  • Obi-Wan and Anakin entering the space battle.

This would require some fx work, but would it be possible to have Obi-Wan swing from the platform and land on the shore, Anakin then follows, but is cut down by Obi-Wan? Those floating platforms are the worst.

Also, Snooker. Great job. That flip never should have been the start of the duel. I would personally remove the choking scene, it’s too jarring (changing of sabers, Anakin no longer holding his). You could also mask the change of setting by cutting to the volcanic eruptions.

The Shmi death scene works really damn well without any soundtrack, with only the sound of the flames as the backdrop.

Here’s part of it:

I can’t figure out how to replace the Death Star motif from the end of ‘burning homestead’. It needs to be replaced, preferably with a slower fade out version. Does that exist?

This is fantastic. Much better than the original in my opinion. Not showing the slaughter, two thumbs up.
