That’s some very nice work. However, I think the only way I would actually want to use it as if it is so subtle that it’s almost hard to notice on the first viewing.

Could you do one where they’re just black? If not, no stress. I hate the return of the helmet. The film wastes valuable screen time showing it be re-formed without any context, besides an f-u to Rian Jonson. The audience can just assume he made a new one or repaired it between films. Currently, years after destroying it, he just decides to get a monkey to fix it?
Also, JJ’s obsession with adding random bits of red to everything infuriates me. 3PO’s arm, the tie fighter, the training remote, Rens helmet.
I have a kind of idea that Ren should re craft the helmet specifically to block out Palpatine’s whisperings. There could be a very fun connection where early in the movie, before Ren discovers Exegol, he’s communing with Vader’s helmet, and he hears these Sith whispers. After he meets Palpatine, during the Mask creation scene, he hears the whispers until they suddenly whimper out as soon as he puts on the mask. He is resisting Palpatine immediately.
I cannot for the life of me find an HD version of the TV spot that has footage of him putting on the mask, so maybe an edited shot from Force Awakens or The Last Jedi might work.

I’ve considered having Artoo accidentally upload prequel era memories to C-3P0, I’m currently trying to figure out how this plays into the narrative. I feel the prequels need to be referenced in this film in a way that his substantial and meaningful; if I can tie this in with Artoo being more integral to the plot, that would be ideal.

Something I would love to see is Leia’s sabre replaced with Luke’s green sabre. I felt Leia’s training was shoehorned into the movie and the reason why she stopped her training made little sense. If Rey faces off against the Emperor with the weapons of Anakin and Luke it ties in better to the saga as a whole.
It endears us to Obi-Wan and shows us how he talks about Anakin when he’s not around. I’m probably going to remove the “he’s arrogant” lines and play up “we’ve never done missions apart” angle.
This is much needed, their relationship in the official cut is handled horribly. Can’t wait for more updates.

It looks great, I take it that it’s to replace the awful shot of Anakin searching for his mother. Looks very OT. Beautiful work. I’m really looking forward to this edit.
How different will this fanedit be?
While bullet points of plot points and specific cuts and changes are useful, I plan on shifting the feel and of this whole movie, so it’s sort of hard to describe. It will be completely different from every edit I’ve seen of this movie.
I would talk further about my specific plans but I don’t want to disappoint anyone if those changes end up not happening, and I would absolutely hate to oversell anything.

Really? I think the desaturated colours make the film look less like a cartoon and make the CGI effects blend better with the live-action. Also looks closer to ANH to me.
Is any on these forums proficient in Deepfake?
I think a great change for the prequels would be to replace Sidious’s face behind the hood with the gnarled face of The Emperor. This would make his change in appearance far less jarring in ROTS. He is simply revealing his true face.
I know there was talk in the forums at one point of replacing Yoda’s face in the prequels with that of the puppet from the OT, I think both these changes will considerably improve the prequels.
Deepfake might also be useful to replace shots of Ewan McGregor from re-shoots, where he’s either put on weight (TPM) or sporting an obviously fake beard and wig (AOTC).
I don’t even care about preserving the Yoda reveal in Empire, it’s just that he’s sooo boring in the prequelsssss.
I think adding Yoda’s laugh to certain exchanges would go along way to making him feel like he did during the OT. For example when Anakin say’s “cold sir.” Yoda could laugh at his misunderstanding.
Maybe Dooku could be seen in the Jedi Council in Episode 1? Of course he wouldn’t have any dialogue but this would help set up Episode 2 a little better

I’m thinking of re-cutting the scene of Obi-Wan and Padme talking on the balcony, ending it early so that it appears the Padme agrees to take Obi-Wan to Anakin. Perhaps ending it on the line, “From himself.” And having Padme bow her head. Then cutting to her cruiser rising from the platform. (I will definitely miss Obi-Wan’s line, “I’m so sorry, but overall I think it strengthens the friendship between Obi-Wan and Padme, and maintains the “Obi-Wan once thought as you do” of it all.”)

I don’t get why you’d cut the robot platforms. That’s one of the best parts.
I cut the platforms because Anakin’s jump looks ludicrous and the design of the droid he lands on is terrible. It also looks plain bad. I would say it’s as bad Mutt fencing between two jeeps in the CGI jungle in KOTCS.

Great work. I’d ditch the line “we have a plan that should immobilise the droid army” and go straight to “we’ll send what pilots we have” using the CU of Anakin to mask the cut. To me, sending fighters to attack the control ship sounds half baked as far as plans go.

Love this. I never had an issue with the designs of the ship PT, however the reads outs and graphic graphics in the ships are just too advanced compared to the OT. Just a thought, given the amount of green glow in that shot I’d consider making the readout green instead of blue.
