The last episode of season 2 was great. Everything else between the death of you-know-who and that sucked. If you want to eliminate characters, try Windom Earle, Annie, Little Nicky, "that woman."

Uh, the documentary I was supporting was:

...a documentary like "The Beginning" that covers a brief making and unmaking of the epic, TPM, from the legendary hype (ie: in 99, the return of Christ was named the #2 most awaited event of the 20th century, second only to the release of Star Wars Episode I), to the eventual backlash, the sharp divide between the fans...

but maybe The Bizzle's idea could be an easter egg?

Any re-edit could not be chronological, as the revelation of Bob's identity is an important plot point that would be ruined by FWWM coming first. I have thought about doing this, using FWWM as flashback material. However, I would probably exclude the entire second season after Bob is revealed.

Sluggo,

there was a marathon theatrical screening of the saga just before the general release of Episode III. It was at the Empire, Leicester Square in London, England. However, the OT prints screened were of the '97 SE.

I don't want to ruffle any feathers, but, let's face it, the PT isn't really worth preserving.

The CGI Yoda in AotC and RotS is far superior to the bad puppet in TPM, so if they replace it, I'll be slightly glad. Or at least I won't care. Which isn't saying much.

This documentary is a really good idea. Anyone in the future, looking back at the existing documentary material would think that the the PT was unanimously acclaimed, satisfying old fans and winning new - which is clearly far from the truth. Someone should make this.

To those who don't like big sigs:

hit the "customize" tab, scroll down to:

If you are on a slow connection, choose the Standard Graphics mode to decrease download times.
(Standard mode will remove all graphics, such as emotion icons and [img] tags, from the messages. Some functionality icons will remain)

and hit the "standard" button. Then scroll down and hit "Customize". Hey Presto!

Yes, I thought they would be. It's just for back cover pics for my Definitive Collection disc (RowMan's compilation) - I thought it would be nice to have stills from the actual booklet, rather than exporting frames from the DVD.

I wondered if there was a pre-DefCol UK PAL set (equivalent to the Japanese Special Collection) - but if there was, it may have the same problems as the French set, as that was pressed in the UK?

Citizen,

you talked in the Dark/Sega thread and your own feedback thread about maybe doing a new transfer from the Japanese Special Collection set, as you dislike the temporal smoothing applied to later sets. Given that you're based in the UK and have had great results with your PAL transfer, wouldn't it make sense to look into a pre-Definitive Collection PAL set like this one?

Above perfect quality - wow, that sounds really unique.

But seriously, folks... hiphats, I would assume that you'd want to make your Godfather disc widescreen. As far as I know, the extra "Saga" material has only ever been released in pan & scan. Besides this, like so many extended and/or director's cut versions, I think the (ahem) original theatrical (ahem) version is actually better.

P.S. Does anyone else dislike the term "fullscreen"?

You can now see Dark Jedi screencaps on Moth3r's comparison page, but I'm not sure which of his transfers they're from (he's done three that I know of: DefCol, Faces & Special Collection).
