ep 2 and 3 speculations
Time
After I saw ep1 i thought that anakin would return at the beginning of the movie for his mother. He'd already be a jedi knight and all. I thought that he would leave the jedi order over some sort of dispute, possibly involving Padme. He and his mother would settle in with Owen and Beru. Padme would end up with him. But, the clone wars would break out and they both would have to leave. the wars would spill into tantoonie and his mother would be killed in some kind of skirmish. Anakin would go darkside and waste several of the mandeloreans. something like that anyway. I just wanted something that would focus on his inner conflict which doen't get enough play time in my opinion.

Movies you enjoy even though you know they're bad
Time
I enjoyed "Explorers" and "Batman Forever". Those two were bad movie but not in the same vain. Explorers was good up until the ending but I enjoyed it anyways. Batman Forever was just campy period. "Alien Ressurection" was pretty bad but i enjoyed that one. "AVP" was also pretty bad, got the extended cut when it came out on DVD. Enjoy that one. There's others but the list would be too long.

I'm trying to get a list together of the movies that came out in wide release in 1997. That was the year I graduated HS. Big year for me. Movie have changed alot since then. Just off the top of my head, I know that was the year of Titanic and The SW special editions. That was also the year JP2 came out along with Batman and Robin. People were saying "Death to Clooney!" on batman boards for a while after that one.

Highlander
Time
Idon't know about some of you guys but whenever I read some of the things y'all write about movie i can't help but wonder if i'm just an idiot for liking certain films. Can somebody please explain to me what exactly, using empirical evidence quantifies a good film? It seems like I like alot of films on here that other's just plain don't. It's hard to articulate right now. I will say this though, I thought the first highlander was alright. It wasn't the greatest in the world by any means but it was alright. the second one just seemed so cheesy to me. It looked like the entire thing was done on soundstages. The third one was okay at best. I only watched endgame to see the nudity and that was the only reason. Watched some of the series it was okay at best. never even heard of raven.

A More Elegant Weapon, a More Civilized Age
Time
I've actually fought using practise swords. It's tough! It really is about footwork. I was practising with a ninja/akido style. the oriental styles are an extention of the martial arts styles of each culture. The Kung Fu style is very flash and some moves in the chinese style are also. The japenesse style is the most no-nonsense of the styles I know of. The samarii had a very solid approach to swordfights, which was why they were able to disarm and kill a man in one or two moves. The sword fighting you see in the last samarii is actually a mix of chinese and japanesse swordfigting techiques.
I liked Episode I's fights because they were about footwork. Of course they were you had a real fighter doing it. Another good example of sword fighting is seven samarii. great flik. great fights

The truth about remakes...
Time
I do tend to agree with greencept on this subject. remakes only work in very, very rare instances. Often times, remakes that go in an unexplored direction can work, but I think that's dependant on a persons taste. For instance, I like the direction that the Spielberg WoW went while some of you on this board would disagree. In truth, I've never seen the original film nor did I watch the show. I am currently reading the book and the book feels like the remake. Maybe that's cause i only saw the remake, I don't know.

The Sad State Of Star Wars
Time
yeah, me too. The thing is, I don't know any more SW fans now than i did back then with the excpetion of these boards.

And I like the EU to a point. I like the inner dialogue and that sorta thing. I only go for the older stuff though, and the stuff that comes after the OOT in terms of the EU books. I don't get into the comics and the Role-playing game can be fun.
