MY COMPUTER HAS A FIRST NAME. IT'S...
Time
I'm using mail that came with my G4 i-book. it works okay for me. Once I get out of the church tough, I'm going to have to get a different program. I also was given some really powerful software along with my i-book. For starters, I have photoshop 7, Adobe Creative Suite which has Photoshop, In-design, and Illustrator CS. I also have Final Cut Express 2 which by the time I leave will be upgraded to Final Cut Pro 4. I am thinking about buying FCP4 once I leave the internship. I'm also looking at getting a G5 with Cineawave HD installed. That basically means I'll have a HD editor will HD component input/outputs!! No more Firewire! nothing but the absolute best from here on out! Oh, and I'm also thinking about Adobe After Effects too!

It seems to me that Lucas is trying to set some sort of record dealing with "number of different versions of a film or films" . Too bad that those films happened to be a very big part of film history.... Actually, I agree with those of you who have said they wouldn't buy the Sept. '04 release. I have been suckered into buying some pretty stupid movies in my day (TPM, AOTC), and quite frankly, I'm tired of being jerked around by some former artist whos only goal is to suck up as much money as he can with a product that he couldn't do over again correctly if he tried.

Since I have my one mac now, a G4 i-book!, I can now edit all the crap out that I don't like. I have the original THX triology before the SE and I have the SE both full-screen and Wide-screen. Stupid, stupid, stupid.... If you ask me, the best film Lucas ever did was American Graffittii and that film is out on DVD right now. The First trilogy was good, but let's admit it, Lucas was not the only person creating the material for those films like he is for the PT. And we can all see that the people who helped him on the OT really made a difference.

I can wait for the '07 super release of the two trilogies and that will be it. no more star wars, no more PT, no more OT, no more anything that relates to this thing. Time to move on. If i don't like certain things on the super version, I'll cut the movie myself on my own editting machine. If you can't trust someone else(Lucas) do do it right, do it yourself. That'll be the end of star wars. It will no longer be timeless. It will not last much longer than 10 years after '07. too many people have been let down and disapointed by Lucas and his attitude toward his own work.

And if I get curious about this upcoming release, I can got to Blockbuster spend 7 dollars and see if it's really what its hyped up to be. The time that I am being given is far too valuable to be wasted on star wars or any other fantastical story. I've got films of my own to put together and I don't have time to just sit around and do nothing. I know that some of this may be hard for some of you to swallow, heck it would have been hard for me to swallow a couple of years ago. But people change. They see things differently and turn away fro the past.

hey all! how's everything? Just came back home to visit for the weekend. The apartment is fine and work is enjoyable! Just need to step up the pace. As far as who I think should win:

Best Picture: ROTK

Best Actor: Bill Murray

Best Director: ROTK

Best Cinematography: Master and Commander

Best Art Direction: ROTK

Best Editing: Master and Commander

The rest I'm still thinking about.

Lord of the Rings...what's the deal?
Time
Amon Hem made for such a cinema style battle IMHO. It showed more than the book let on. Whereas they did put more into Helm's Deep than was there, but it just wasn't like Amon Hem. Shelob's Lair could have also had the same effect that Amon Hem had, but for some reason they didn't really do it justice. Return of the King seemed to be more about spectical now that I think about it. Even some of the stuff with Frodo and Sam was too BIG.

I can't wait to see the EE and hopefully see the Aftermath of Isengard scene done right.

Worst Movies of 2003
Time
There were some real stinkers this year. Two of which were comic films. Gotta get hollywood out of comic films.

1. Daredevil-- Is it just me or does anyone else think that FM should have been involved in this project? Bennifer should not have even been casted as Murdock. Heck he shouldn't even have been considered for the part. Now Matt Damon would have worked. Poor everything in this film. That's including the radar sense effect. If your going to do it that way, you need to understand that everything makes a sound especially in NYC. So he'd be able to see in radar better than we can visually.

2. Hulk-- This film was really dumb. It was a waste of good talent and the editting was downright distracting.

3. BadBoys2-- Just plain stupid. A waste of my eight bucks. It was directed by Micheal Bane, need I say more?

4. Feddy vs. Jason-- Stupid film. Only thing that worked for me was the way they got them both together.

Didn't see Lara Croft or Paycheck. I'm gonna stay waway from both if you don't mind. Ditto for Legally Blonde 2

RSS is right, The MAC rules by far. I just wish that more games were MAC friendly. Up at my old College, they had a MAC that ran Media 100. That is a professional Editor that is about 5 years old now. They just put the latest version of Adobe photoshop and Aftereffects on that machine and it's been running smoothly. No problems. But when they put the new version of Premiere on the PC's, they had to tool with it for two to three hours before it worked. And they just bought new systems last year!

THE LORD OF THE RINGS: Return of the King (spoilers)

What... A.... MOVIE!!!!

For the first ten to twenty minutes, I had my mouth hung wide open. I had to tell myself to close my mouth so I wouldn't drool on myself.

I can definately see this film getting a huge recognition for Oscar. It's pretty obvious that Fran Walsh and Philippa Boyen getting Best Adapted Screenplay awards!

I personally am very eager to see the EE of this Movie. The EE of TTT redeemed much of the film IMHO, but this one's just gonna make it that much better!

I can't wait for them to do the Chronicles of Narnia. And i expect them to do it the right way as well! No belittling material because it's Christian Allegory.

A 2 disc DVD for each movie

I wholeheartedly agree with J109(is that right). George would not be where he is if people like us had not given of our time and hard-earned dollars. We chose to commit ourselves to this story. Now it would be in good character if he would commit the story to us. We've given you nearly 30 years George! It's high time you gave us something back out of sheer gratitude.

Also for those on this forum, I will not post here after December 27th. Because I will be in Grand Rapids with NO INTERNET.

I agree with Bossk on this one. I can think of alot of different guys who could have done alot more with that character. I haven't seen the film yet but I plan to tomorrow. I have to get my sister her Bday present. She wants the Silimarilion. I have a copy, but I'm going to be leaving home soon and she wants her own book. I leave for Grand Rapids in Three weeks! Should be cool. Still gotta learn to take quicker showers, do the laudrey, and cook my meals instead of going out to eat all the time.

By the way Bossk, Happy Bday dude! Your only four years older than I am! I was just wondering, how long have you and your wife been married? And how old were you when you got out of the house?

As for actors that could have played Cruise's Character, Sean Bean, Vigo Mortessan, Ewan McGregor, or maybe on a long shot Brad Pitt.

Edward Norton could have pulled it off too.
