Thanks!š
Thanks!š
While not a deepfake, i thought Iād include my attempt at a slightly younger Palpatine. I doctored a single frame in photoshop, applied it to surface mesh in davinci resolve 18, and then applied a bit of face refinement on top of that.
Remember Palpatinesā¦umā¦aging discrepancy in ATOC?
I may have found a way to fix it:
A few thoughts after watching JEDI NO MORE
I just wanna say up front: I appreciate any edit that really tries to push itself in terms of new ideas and restructuring of the movie.
One of the main things that intrigued me about this edit was the restructuring. I had heard the idea of putting Geonosis at the beginning of the movie before but didnāt know if there was a edit out there that was successful at achieving it.
Was the edit successful in doing so?
I think itāll work for some. Sadly, it didnāt for me. I guess I would say thereās not enough connective tissue from scene to scene to make the build up work. Maybe I just know the material so well I canāt separate itā¦I donāt knowā¦
However, Obi-Wans intro scene is him talking to R4 about the unusual concentration of trade federation ships there are. Anakin and Padmes first scene is their little ācolumns of steamā talk as they fly down to Geonosis. These are not strong introductions for our main characters. For me, that just doesnāt work.
With all of that being said, there were things I did like. Including but not limited to:
-repurposing shots of the geonosians to now spy on Obi-Wan.
-new dialogue for Obi-Wan message to the Jedi
-Anakin saves Padme in the droid factory instead of R2
-altered dialogue for certain scenes such as the Obi/Mace/Yoda walking down the overtly CGI Jedi hallways scene (lipsync isnāt quite there but still fun)
-I like Anakin at the senate hearing
-I like the additional senate scene with Jar Jar using footage from TPM, AOTC+deleted scene
-analysis droid deleted scene on Kamino with new dialogue
-Anakin becomes a Jedi Knight
I know a lot of thought and work went into this edit. It shows. I appreciate that.
And maybe Iām the only one who doesnāt care for the restructured bits.
Everyone else should check it out!
JEDDIT: i like some of these ideas i may just borrow one or two of them. š
It would be great if some of snookers ideas could come to fruitionā¦
Return of the Jedi:
I would love to check this out! Sounds like some really interesting changes!
Yeah, it IS my thread, isnāt it? š Thanks DMC.
Yeah, i definitely check the site several times a day too!
Iām curious: does anyone know if thereās an edit of AOTC that removes the nightclub scene?
Thatās what Iāve done here:
I just wanna say: I love originaltrilogy.com
Iāve been a member since 2006!
I check in on several threads but Iām just not actively posting.
When compared to every other thread, my posts are never lengthy. I prefer posting my thoughts in video form as opposed to taking the time to write it all out. Iāve always struggled with putting words to my thought process anyways.
I just feel kinda funny bumping my thread every time I release another youtube video. As you can tell by my channel, Iāve been releasing more videosā¦trying to grow the channel.
Is it annoying when I post here? I try to keep it to a minimumā¦
Well, either way, thanks to everyone who checks in on this thread!
I just felt I needed to address some of these thoughts Iāve had here.
Thanks again!
These are all quite fun to watch!
Very nice! This sort of visual manipulation still fascinates me. Did you use EbSynth? Or something like the puppet tool in AE?
Now, just change her hair and clothes and all will be good! š
Oh interesting! Thatās not something I anticipated- well, obviously I didnāt, or I wouldāve addressed it! š
Unfortunately, I canāt really extend the shot of Padme and Typhoā¦the traffic in the background wouldnāt end up looking right.
However, I did originally wonder about Jar Jarās subtitles getting in the way of the scene. Iām now wondering if I recorded Jar Jar speaking the lines in English (and removed the subtitles) if that would take away the confusionā¦?
And, heck, I may attempt putting a shot of Zam back inā¦if I can make it work to my taste. š
Thank you so much for the feedback!
Change Greedoās subtitles to state that heās a good guy and he and Han are actually friends. Trim shots of Han unholstering his gun and shooting, but add new insert shot of a drink getting knocked over. After Han throws some coins to Wuher and says āSorry about the mess,ā dub in a new Greedo line and subtitle saying āThank you for covering that Han, I owe you for next time.ā
Oh my god, I want to see this! LOL
Hereās something Iāve wanted to attempt for a long time.
Itās unfinished, but thatās because I was hoping for feedback before continuing work on it.
Iām offended by this thread.

Grand Master_ Luke Flywalker said:
I remember years ago someone mocking up a hologram of Grievous in AotC, I think in place of Death Star. The concept was pretty lame, tbh, but the execution was good iirc, effects-wise.
This was actually my concept. Haha.
I recall someone coming on the forum not long after I started getting involved here, around summer 2015, offering to do some effects work, and it was just a suggestion I through out there. Thought it would be a fun way to set up Grievous, since the Death Star doesnāt really play a role in ROTS besides on of the final shots of the film.
Looking back now, Iād rather keep the Death Star, but give the graphics that classic look with the dish at the equator.
Could you send me that clip?
Yeah, Iād love to see it too!
Iām shocked at what a difference that makes! Nicely done!
Thanks, DMC! Iām blushing! š
Thanks for the kind words everyone- even though the edit is a mess! š
I hadnāt touched this edit in months.
Didnāt wanna see it ever again.
Was just sick of it.
Then the other dayā¦
And, hell, since Iām advertising, in case you missed my video ā$6000 Star Wars Cantina Scene?!!ā:
This sounds great! Could I also get a link, please?
Yes, Iām GIFTING you another video! Sing along, everybody!
Happy Holidays, everyone!
David S Pumpkins.
J.J. Abrams being interviewed while making TFA:
āIs Snoke like a Sith? What is he?ā
āHis own thing!ā
āAnd the Knights of Ren areā¦?ā
āPart of it!ā
I. Love. That.
I thought Iād post a link to my new dumb (but topical) video.
For those that would like a link, I have a WIP version uploaded now!
PM me! š
Minor bump⦠Just realised I had forgotten to mention this earlier in regards to your Palpatineās office video, but I do really enjoy getting to hear fan-editors break down problematic scenes and explain their reasons for changes etc⦠I dunno, I guess especially with the prequels, learning someone elseās take on things that donāt work and how to address it really helps me approach my own attempts to edit with a different mindset.
So by all means, if youāre planning on doing more videos like this, Iād very much be interested! š
Probably part of the reason Iāve always been a sucker for the behind the scenes content of films more so than the actual film is just because I love learning about the hidden creative process and mentality behind things that isnāt always so obvious onscreen.
Your commentary on how you felt watching all of this unfold in cinemas is great as well! š
Iāve always loved reading members of this siteās stories about experiencing the prequels for the first time and I still continue to get a laugh out of it. š
I totally forgot to respond to this! Thank you so much for the kind words Chase Adams! I certainly enjoyed making the Palpatines Office video because I did finally get to put some thoughts out there that Iād had for years! Iām glad it has been of at least some benefit to you!
I am considering doing some sort of commentary track for the workprintā¦so I can put more of my thoughts out there as well as explain some of my unfinished ideas youāll end up seeing. š
