No I don’t even remember what it was.

I know it’s been a while with a legit update. However, I think I’ve cracked the kissing scene in AOTC.
With the new Anakin dialogue, I’ve removed all creepiness and made the kiss itself feel more natural. New music too…sorry but no John Williams score for this scene…it just didn’t work for what I was going for.

It probably depends on the software you’re using. I used to use some software (can’t remember which anymore) that had that as an option…and it wasn’t really hidden away somewhere on a sub menu…it was a very prominent feature. But I haven’t burned a DVD in years…

I was trying to think of what else could be done. The only thing I came up with was to contact people who’ve had star wars websites over the years and see if they might have them or know of someone who might.

I actually checked with the staff at theforce.net and they didn’t know of anyone. I sent a message to t-bone but haven’t heard back yet.

The TROS trailer footage of Rey and Leia embracing looks like slightly altered footage from TFA, right? Quickly looking at image comparisons online, it looks like they’ve kept Leia’s head but have replaced her body entirely so she’s wearing a different outfit. Her hair style is the same as TFA.

Adywan, is this something you might consider using in your edit?

You might notice I typically don’t chime in when it comes to crawl discussion. I’m not much of a writer…plus I don’t have this movie memorized like I do the OT and the PT…so I can’t say with great confidence what will or won’t be affected by crawl changes.

That being said, this current idea for the crawl and your logic seems to make sense! I like it! 😛

This is not something that ever occurred to me.

If one wanted to try and remedy this “problem” in ANH, how about Luke using the lightsaber (instead of the blaster) to do some damage to the controls that extend the bridge?

I do think AOTC could’ve been quite a bit better had they an additional editor working on it. It was just Lucas and Burtt. I have no proof of this, but I think Paul Martin Smith, editor of TPM, had a larger impact on that film than we may know. I know there are those who feel TPM is the worst…BUT in terms of editing, I feel like TPM is miles above AOTC and ROTS.

ACTUALLY, this brings up something I’ve had in a back of my mind for a while:
There is no one resource for this subject. Anyone that intends to make a radical fan edit has to do this sort of thing from scratch…searching youtube and other lesser known websites to find a small snippet of dialogue or sound effect (or filmed element) to maybe possibly insert into their edit.

It would be really helpful (aka cool) if someone (not me) started to put together a version of each OT (and even PT) film and wherever possible and applicable, insert dialogue and/or sound effects only tracks.
Of course these could be added to once more resources were either found OR if someone began to tackle recreating elements.
ALSO something else that could be apart of these editions is the inclusion of certain shots that have been rotoscoped (or somehow altered) by our lovely fan editors as possible resources.

Just throwing that idea out there for anyone who might want to tackle it. It’s not like it would be a big project! 😛

No matter the context, if anyone uses the words “episode one” in my mind I always add “The Phantom Menace”.
