I especially love the new grade of Palps!
I especially love the new grade of Palps!
Yes!!!
Hey guys, I wanted to let you know I’m seriously considering taking down my videos on youtube due to the whole COPPA thing. I’m not taking any chances, ya know?
Just giving you a heads up in case you wanted to download any of my vids.
I may upload them somewhere else…or I might not. 😛
I’m curious, in ESB, the rank badges of the imperial officers being placed on the correct side: do those look any different/better?
Agreed.
Star Wars R-Rated:

JEDIT: Just finished watching it…I actually found it kind of disappointing.
I have a possible suggestion to make in terms of line re-dubbing. There are voice cloning programs out there (that I’ve been very unsuccessful and downloading due to software requirements) that might do the trick, despite the voice cloning results may sound more robotic and not as natural in the tone of voice.
OK wow I feel stupid. I’ve been waiting for Adobe to release their version of this type of software and didn’t think there are other possibilities out there.
I just came across lyrebird.ai. I don’t think it’ll work for fan editing purposes seeing as how it requires you to record your own voice saying specific phrases they’ve constructed.
There’s Real-Time-Voice-Cloning that apparently one could download from github.com. Seems a bit complicated…buuut potentially it could work at least for certain scenes?
Hell yeah!
It’s good, but the shots feel framed really funny with all that static space.
I did notice that at first, but then, almost instantly, I got use to it. I like the wider shot. This looks great snooker! Can’t wait to see how Jar Jar is completely removed from TPM!
yes this is what im using, in many cases i have to use photoshop to create custom mattes such as this though, still it works for wider shots
Yeah, the Content-aware fill thingy is by no means magic on it’s own. I’ve tried it on a handful of shots…some work pretty well, while others don’t at all. Definitely need to make custom mattes.
Anyone noticed any significant audio changes?
Obi-wan’s dragon call?
Has the ADR or on-set audio been played around with to sound better?
I personally find the hate on Hayden’s Ghost Anakin vs. the Palpatine recast extremely hypocritical and screams of anger filled double standards; trying to rationalize the double standard just digs the hole deeper.
I’m not sure if you’re lumping me in that category. If you are, I don’t think that’s fair.
Here’s the deal: I can get a bit hyperbolic from time to time on these boards.
Ultimately, my opinion is indeed just an opinion. It’s all subjective. It may not make sense why someone hates one change while loving another. It’s just the way it is.
I don’t understand why George Lucas made certain changes to his Star Wars Trilogy, but I don’t actually hate him for it. I poke fun at certain things about his films…but it’s all in good fun.

Good question. I don’t know why I’m tackling this question because I know someone will come along and express it a lot better than me…but here I go:
I don’t necessarily think everyone feels the same way. I also don’t think it’s cut and dry either.
I like the original performance in ESB.
I also appreciate why it was changed - now we have consistency with the same actor portraying the same character in the saga. With that said, I don’t like the altered dialogue nor do I particularly like Ian’s performance. Now Anakin is a different story. It’s not just disrespectful to Mr. Shaw. It alters Anakins redemption.
Prior to this change, Old Anakin simply transformed into force ghost Anakin…with only battle damaged removed. Now, going by visuals alone (this is a movie, after all) Lucas is essentially telling us that Anakin was redeemed and transformed to his pre-Sith days. That was when he was last ‘good’ and not evil.
I think the logic behind the change is probably that Anakin hasn’t done anything good in his life since his Jedi days and therefore the force is sort of “erasing” the Sith days from his life. Hence, he looks young while Obi-Wan and Yoda look old.
Since this change, my thoughts have been: Anakin WAS redeemed as an old man, therefore, he should be an old looking force ghost…for lack of a better way of putting it.Would you like the dialogue if it wasn’t changed yet still performed by Ian, similar to in Adywan’s ESB:R?
Adywan’s is the closest, yes.

I believe that some (but not all?) of the deleted scenes for included on the 2011 box set are available under each movie’s “extras” menu on Disney+
Sooo no additional deleted scenes? such as the extended DS conference room scene with ‘Sith’ being mentioned?
I edit Attack of the Clones because there is good in there, I’ve felt it. I can save it; I can turn it back to the good side. I have to try.
Here here!
Rey looking at R2. I think if you flip the shot of Rey the eyelines won’t work, right?
Ok you probably don’t want to hear this but I just realized that Rey and R2 are both on screen right. One should really be on the left while the other should be on the right. I don’t suppose you have a way to extend the background to right in Rey’s shot do you? 😜
strange carnival in TPM
LOL
For those who’ve never seen any of Angel’s work on his eventual edit:

Go look at his version of the Greedo scene. It looks a m a z i n g !
Agreed.
Although, I find that there are a few “lackluster” explosions in the OT. I think most of them are shots in space. After the initial explosion, the opacity seems to just drop off. It’s by no means terrible. Not like I could do any better! lol
I know I would LOVE those CGI rocks if I could watch this in 3D.
They look to be new scans, at least for ROTJ.
Well crap.
This altered Greedo scene, once again, makes no sense.
First, of all, if Mr. Lucas really wanted to make it clear the Han was shooting in self defense (which it already was clear), why not, instead of altering the shot of the guns ablazin’, why not add the sound of Greedos blaster “powering up” as he says “I’ve been looking forward to this…”? Even add a slight movement to Greedo’s hand and blaster just to make it perfectly clear?
Why are they adding a new explosion which just makes the next cut more jarring? The screen fills up almost entirely with a white-ish smoke - cut to next shot - almost all of the smoke is gone. Agree with above post: is Greedo filled with C-4? Why not fix the entire thing by going the Adywan route: use frame of non-dummy Greedo and add blaster fire with a BIT of smoke? Boom. Done.
Why the extra Greedo dialogue?! It’s not even subtitled! What is he supposed to be saying to Han? How does this enhance the scene? AAAND we all know it’s obviously the PREVIOUS shot just zoomed in-…plus, the removal of the dude walking by on the right. They didn’t even remove the bit of light that is visible to the immediate right of Greedos face that disappears as the dude passes by in front of a light.
Personally I assume they have enough awareness of these things and have done a once over that may also be related to any ways they had already been planning to regrade or otherwise touch up for UHD or even left from the 3D re-releases.
Yeah, I highly doubt Disney was involved in any of the “creative” decisions on the changes here. Man, I really was expecting just the 2011 releases…
Yeah, what other changes are there?
