The legendary "Starkiller Ranch" Thread
Time
I'm liking all of this. I believe I mentioned it before, but if the briefing is being dubbed, a mention here of Padme and the beginnings of the Rebellion would be nice here.

I don't mind the crude graphics on Yavin. It looks the Rebel base look more temporary. Save the good hologram hardware for a permanent base. The thing I would like to see at least once is a hand-held hologram projector. Any Darth Editous-type work would be welcome.

So if we are changing the opening of ROTJ, and the old opening arrival of Jedi being moved to the end of Empire, I'd suggest using the alternate footage of Vader leaving the shuttle. There is a greater immediacy in this shot that was used in the Special Edition. Vader just storms down the ramp and starts harassing Jerjerrod. The old Jedi opening is iconic and dramatic, but it works best for an establishing shot and not as well for a shot at the end of the movie.

'Shadows Of The Empire' soundtrack - help wanted accessing the cd-rom part
Time
Hey I heard a rumour a while ago that there was a fan-made "expanded" version of this soundtrack on the net with extra tracks from some place or another. It had the Fox fanfare on it, a closing credits track with some of the themes blended together like the movies do and a few other items on it. Anyone know anything about this?

Info: More ANH soundmix discussion (remasters & French dub)
Time
Another difference I have noticed is in all (that I am aware of) mixes of ANH, Ben says the line, "If the ship's as fast as he's boasting, we ought to do well". The Special Editions and the official DVD have an alternate take of "If the ship's as fast as his boasting, we ought to do well". Does anyone know if this line was in any previous mix?

Anchorhead, eh. The scene began with Luke jumping out of his landspeeder and running into Tosche Station. The shots had burnt in spots, embedded dirt, a few frames were actually cracked in some spots, and I think I spotted a fingerprint. The footage is a mess. In addition to being rough cut footage, it was also very pixilated due to encoding on the Behind the Magic DVD Rom. I just experimented with painting out the smudges and scratches and re-alligning the broken frames. I wasn't able to save the work, so I gave up on it.

***//BUILDING EMPIRE\\: PAL & NTSC DVD - NEW EDITION NOW ONLINE! ***

Apples and oranges are both delicious.

And they are really not that different. The biggest difference to me is a the way the creators used the footage that was available. ANH has much more available as far as cut scene are concerned. Besides, Deleted Magc deals more with editing techniques, whereas Building Empire focuses on the behind the scenes stuff.

Somebody's sig on this site mentioned hyperspace starlines (or whatever they are called) not being sceen in the prequel trilogy, but being in the Classic trilogy? Any plans to add them anywhere? I believe there is an actual TPM cut scene where they were supposed to be in the film.

I got this quote from the Illustrated Screenplay from T-bone's site.

INT. COCKPIT - SPACE
RIC OLIÉ pulls back on the hyperdrive. OBI-WAN, QUI-GON, and ANAKIN watch.

Qui-Gon
Let's hope this hyperdrive works
and Watto didn't get the last laugh.

The stars streak outside the cockpit window.
