The Clone Wars (2008 animated tv series) - a general discussion thread

Hey those old tv ewoks movies may have been cheaply done but at least the creatures were done with puppets and stop motion and not frickin ugly ass cgi.

Can you imagine if Lucas revisisted the ewok tv movies and added cgi that ruined them or put Jar Jar in there.

I wouldn't put it past him. Jar Jar would go on and on to Mace Towoni about he used to know a Mace Windu. That would be the perfect solution to tie the Ewok adventures to the rest of the saga. *wrings hands together* "Excellent!"

Beautiful images, Adywan, ESB is looking better than new.

I've read the list of changes in page 1 and I have a doubt: Have you noticed that Luke turns his head early to look at the Millennium Falcon taking off in Hoth?:

Greetings.

Regarding this scene, it seems Luke heard the sound of the Falcons engines, then turned in time to see it fly past. With his helmet on, he wouldn't have any periphery vision so the falcon would not have caught his eye unless he heard it first. I don't see this scene as being a blooper. It flows pretty naturally.

This scene might be improved if possible by tracking the path of the falcon for just a little longer. Maybe.

and please put the old celebration song the new one is just ODD.

The SE celebration song is great.

It's so much more a "grand final" music, full of nostalgia (cause it's the end of the whole saga), than the poor original "Ewok birthday party" kiddie song.

I mostly agree with this, except for the nostalgia part as it doesn't really quote any themes already used in the trilogy. I don't know if it would be better or not with those themes.

Adywan says the Real Names will be replacing the Screennames for those who opt to do so. I figured instead of offending those who might feel that tying their real name to their screenname was a violation of privacy, I'd just post the screennames to make sure everyone who wants to be credited is there, and leave the rest to Ady.

Besides, I have the list in three different places so I won't lose it. I really don't want to have to keep three seprate files updated. ;-)

Can we opt for our screen name to appear in quotation marks between our real first and last name? If not, I'll follow Ripplin's lead and just stick with just my screen name.

Probably. That's what I did on the first one.

They made at least four wampas.

A full sized one that carried off Luke for the Norway shoot.

A full sized one that attacked the rebel base (all of these scenes were cut)

A puppet version that is the first one we see that attacks Luke at the start of the movie.

A full sized one for the special edition reshoots.

Looks like the prequels are not aging well.

I for one love the Prequel Trilogy for what it is and have no complaints with it well besides that dreaded character Jar Jar Binks lol. Its not the Original Trilogy nor was it intended to be the Original Trilogy but what it was suppost to be was the back story the story that every Star Wars fan wanted to see for years and it 1999 we got it with The Phantom Menace with the story of Anakin Skywalker. I think people should let this topic rest because the Prequels are great movies and people just need to let it have its legacy in the Star Wars Saga.

You mention that the prequels are not the original trilogy nor were entended to be the original trilogy. I think a lot of people use this argument when discussing the prequels as why they are not great movies (and I strongly stress that they are not great movies).

I can't think of a single reason the prequels could not have been as equals to the original trilogy, or perhaps even better. What with the digital era of film making in full swing, Lucas had no technological limitations and could have put all of his focus into creating an awesome story arc and hiring the best to write, film, act and edit the new trilogy.

He could have not absolutely dropped the ball. But he did.
