Jedi deleted scene?

94 EXT. BUNKER

Han sneaks up behind the remaining Imperial scout, taps him on the shoulder and lets the scout chase him behind the bunker into the arms of the waiting Rebel strike team. Han returns to the front, and taps out a pattern on the bunker door's control panel.  Everyone stands out of sight, police-style, as the door opens.  Han and Leia peek inside. No sign of life. The group enters the bunker silently, leaving one lookout, disguised in the armor of a stripped Imperial Scout, behind.

95 INT. DEATH STAR MAIN DOCKING BAY

Vader's shuttle settles onto the docking bay of the Death Star. Luke and the Dark Lord emerge from the landing ramp with a small escort of stormtroopers, and walk rapidly across the cavernous main bay to the Emperor's tower elevator.

Royal guards awaited them there, flanking the shaft. They open the elevator door. Luke steps forward.

96 INT. DEATH STAR – EMPEROR’S ROOM

The elevator opens. Vader and Luke enter the room alone. They walk across the dark space to stand before the throne, father and son side by side beneath the gaze of the Emperor. Vader bows to his Master.

EMPEROR

Welcome, young Skywalker. I have been expecting you.

ROTJ Liner Notes

Yeah.  I have all three that way.  Plus the Anthology box set, and too many other sets to mention.

It was pretty cool when it came out.  I think I liked it better back when I was more ignorant about all of its faults.  I listen to GoodMusician's version almost exclusively now.  It is teh bomb, as the kids say.

Jedi deleted scene?
Time

This actually was a deleted scene.  It was in the novel and the shooting script.*  It really was just Luke and Vader walking across the hanger.  As they got to the end of the hangar, they passed a handful of Imperial Dignitaries who watched them suspiciously.  The scene continued with Vader and Luke getting off of the elevator in the Emperor's throne room.

Not a big loss.

*At least in my re-creation of the shooting script.  Because the novel matched so many scenes on storyboards and call sheets, I concluded that both the novel and the call sheets are based on the (currently lost) shooting script.  I based my reconstructed shooting script on the novel.  Photos from the set seem to back up the material in the novel that is now missing from the film.  I could go on about this for hours....

Random memories from 1977-83
Time

I remember FINALLY finding a Bossk action figure back in 1981.  My mom picked it up, and I had to mow the lawn two times! before I could open it.  It was a long week.

EDIT:  To explain the Bossk fetish (which I still have):

1. He is a bounty-hunter.  Awesome.

2. He wears an astronaut suit.  Awesome again.

3. He is a freakin lizard-man.  Awesome x 20.

Doesn't get cooler than that.

Just for my own piece of mind. Here are a few points I'd like to make about what I'd like to see/not see...

1 - Implied violence is ALWAYS more frightening than shown. For that reason, we don't need to see the Wampa.

2 - Get rid of the recycled ROTJ Vader Shuttle footage. It was HORRIBLE, and should never been seen (except in ROTJ) again.

3 - The Emperor hologram sequence. While I never saw a problem with the original look or Clive Revil's voice in the first place. I rather enjoyed hearing Ian McDiarmid. However, I thought he looked like total shite. Can you use footage of him from ROTJ, and make it look more "hologram-y". The 2004 ESB DVD had the hologram not looking tranparent enough. Also, PLEASE cut out all the new dialogue that Ian recorded for the 2004 DVD, and leave only the original conversation between Vader & The Emp. the new dialogue makes Vader's reveal to Luke completely redundant to the viewer, and takes away ALL of the emotional tension.

Of course, I'm sure you've thought of all this already.

You must be new here!

Nah, Scotty has been here for years.  He just doesn't post much.  Most of you guys are newer than he is, so be careful where you wave the noob wand, noob!  ;)

The more I think about it, there really is no excuse for Vader to not have his helmet on.  It doesn't matter how long we make the hallway or anything.  How come people can just go in and open the door without knocking or anything like that?

One of the people out in the hall is a guard.

My 2¢ say that the long hallway should be the choice because it is cooler than just having it open up to being just off of the bridge.  While the elevator option works as well, I just don't see it as ominous to a long hall.  Maybe a new shot could be added focusing on Piett's boots as he walks along the corridor before he gets to the door.  I am imagining a shot similiar to the one in ANH of the troopers feet as the troopers and Vader arrive at Leia's cell on the death star.
