all this lightsaber colors are annoying if adywan gets to the prequels, let all the jedi have blue lightsabers except for windu, yoda and dooku, they should have green to reinforce the rarity of such color and what vader says to luke in rotj

Yeah... because no faneditor will ever make the PT into a good or halfway decent set of films... except for Adywan, of course. :/

EDIT: Please note that I am not bashing Adywan - he's an excellent editor and it was through his Revisited edit that brought back my interest in Star Wars (something that I thought had been dead for the last ten years). However, I am just slightly tired and annoyed of coming across people that have this absolute-unyielding belief that unless your name is Adywan, your fanedit/s are worth less than s**t.

I've argued this elsewhere as well.  Ady is absolutely incredible.  I just would like to see others jump in the fray as well.

As far as the lightsabers go, I think I like the idea of the purple saber being set aside for the Jedi who is falling or who is not conforming to the dictates of the council.  Using color to determine rank is to 'Imperial' for me, if you take my meaning.  I want the lightsaber colors to have an 'emotional' or symbolic meaning rather than a military one.

Also, on a side note, I cut Indy saying don't know its just a story to mutt in the diner. I also cut one of the falls from the retracting steps (for some reason our heroes fall twice which was weird). Also, I cut Indy asking "the obelisk is the key?", "what are you doing Ox?", and "what are you looking for Ox?". This (and a few other small changes) make Indy look more involved with the obelisk puzzle.

What SUCKS is that I can't cut him saying "you figured this out in your cell didnt you professor?". Ugh. Couldn't we just have Indy solve a damn puzzle.

AND just a heads up that the Koepp script is available for download at http://mysterymanonfilm.blogspot.com/2009/02/koepps-indy-iv-script.html some good stuff in there taht was cut so I guess I can't JUST blame Lucas and Koepp.

Couldn't we have had Ox figure it out (or atleast some of it) in his cell, but he of course can't communicate it himself, so Indy has to do it also?

Teebo's got a gun.

Stormtroopers on the run.

We all have heard about adding things for the sake of adding things.  I hardly think that ROTJ needs MORE ewoks.  However, if it gives them a better purpose or makes them more fierce, someone should give it a try.

The ewok footage also needs to match the hues, so maybe some color correction is needed to make the two match.

Not when it isn't justified.  Well, not always.  We have our moments.

6) Star Wars on DVD.  Maybe not the way most of us want it, but still...  We have cool documentaries and cut scenes.  That's a plus in my book.

7) Dark Horse's Dark Empire series.  It seems a bit clone-heavy now, but it was awesome to have Star Wars in my shopping bag again.

8) New Star Wars toys.  Sure it took a while for Leia to not look like a chimp, but now the figures look great!  Maybe I should buy one or two.

9) Star Wars Chronicles.  If you don't have the original, you can't call yourself a fan.

10) Behind the Magic CD-ROM.  You have any idea how long I've wanted to see Biggs and Luke and Anchorhead.  This was huge.

That's why I suggested the trap that Chewie sets off be baited with a dead Imperial because it sets up that the Ewoks have already had some experience in this sort of thing and the Rebels just help co-ordinate their already deadly skills (those Walker smashing traps could have been planned before the Rebels turned up).

This isn't a bad idea.  Or idear, as they say in Tennessee.

What would really sell this would be if Threepio could be given dialogue interpreting for the Ewoks indicating they are preparing a final strike against these armored invaders.

Well I hope you stick around this one Sluggo, as there's still a few surprises left in this baby....

I've a few more myself that haven't been covered yet, when I get the time soon.

Oh, I'm not going anywhere.  Ady is totally good about using suggestions when they work for him.  And his project is moving forward.  I love seeing the creativity, ideas and observations that members have about these movies.

One last gripe and then I am done.  No disrespect to our pal Adywan, but he is too well liked, if you take my meaning.  All we see on these threads is "Ady should do this and Ady should do that".  I would love to see some other members on this board step up and learn some of the skills Ady is famous for.  Imagine what could be done if three or four people had his talent.  So it isn't a complaint about Ady, but about pretty much everyone else.  ;)  Not sure why it bugs me, but it does.

Rant over.

Was the X-wing ladder issue ever decided?

Maybe.

But Star Wars and the others are movies.  First and foremost.  As movies, they need to work for the audience before anything else.  This applies to alien creatures speaking English, to spaceships making noise in outer space.  If something isn't watchable, using "it is in a different universe" doesn't apply.  It is a movie made for people to watch and enjoy it.  It is not something that just exists and we are watching it in a telescope trying to understand why it works that way in that galaxy far far away.
