It would be interesting to see a modification to the scene reminiscent of the last Pirates movie.  The sarlaac would be writhing around under the ship and occaisionally reach up and grab a henchman or two from off a skiff at unexpected moments.  Or maybe grab one of the skiffs and try to break it and dump the crew into its mouth...  uh.. hole..  um... eating orafice.. thing.

On a scale of 1-10, how convincing was Hayden as Anakin/Darth Vader?

one line that will always haunt me from that scene is, "I HATE YOU!" just the way he said it, and realizing how close they were. it just sucked.

And this is a fact that cannot be emphasized enough. Those three words (it just sucked) sum up that whole scene, and the entirety of the PT beautifully. ;)

As far as choking Obi-Wan being the last thing on his mind, he is taking the time to yell out "I hate you" in rage while burning to death. Seems like trying to hurting Obi-Wan's feelings would be the last thing on his mind. The darkside is suppose to make you stronger, seems like while Anakin was burning to death, filled with rage of his friends betrayal, filled with fear, knowing that death would soon take him, filled with suffering as his flesh melts off his body and his internal organs begin to cook, this guy ought to have been nearly bursting at the seams with the darkside at this moment.

Surely all that fear, uncertainty, hatred, and suffering built up inside him, he could have lashed out at Obi-Wan with an attempt to physically hurt him, rather than just shouting like a spoiled child who isn't getting his way and wants to make his daddy feel badly by saying he hates him.

That is an interesting point.  Anakin went all ape-s*** when he found out Padme was 'dead'.  If he was really that pissed (and why shouldn't he be, his old best friend was leaving him to die after he cut off his arms and legs.  And Obiwan was with Padme, and all that involved.), Anakin should have used the force to squish Obi-wan like a grape.

Looks awesome, ID.

I vote for keeping Pancho Villa.  I think I want Mutt to have a little potential if he goes on his own adventures.  More importantly, the Pancho reference is something the audience is familiar with and it helps establish this movie in the real world.  It just feels more 'real' with the line intact in a movie that really needs all the reality it can get.

despite all the good arguments made for having fett, i do feel it would be a distracting subplot, and kind of unnecessary, and could be viewed as a fan service (like fett in AOTC). i would only include him if you find that the restructured ROTJ creates a gap that he could fill. i wouldnt go making a gap to put him in.

As you say it's an idea and like some ideas on here it will appeal to some people and not to others.

The proof of the pudding is in the eating and nobody has cooked it yet.

Personally I'd like to see the idea made and if it becomes in my power to do so and nobody else does it I'll do it myself so people can put it in or leave it out or do it differently at their own discretion.

Fett in AOTC is a fan service when he isn't being a bounty hunter (I'm fine with him being hired to kill Padme, the clone template buisness was the fan service as was little boy Boba).

He was definitely a fan service in ANH.

I'd totally watch an alternate version of Jedi (at least once) where Fett sells the plans to the rebels.  That's the fun of these ideas.  I like some ideas, don't others and other folks like what they like.

It really is the double edge sword of the Special Editions.  Once Lucas changed the films, it totally blew any idea about what is canon and what is not away, if you take my meaning.  Once he opened the films for changes, all hell hath broken loose.  Totally agravating on one hand and kind of fun on the other.

Yeah!  it's just a kid's show...

Come to think of it, this has always made me wonder... what exactly did the Empire do to them anyway?  I mean, when we see Stormtroopers, they're usually just firing blaster rifles.  They singe a little bit... but this?  I mean, even Darth Vader walked away from a near lava dip in better condition than this!

If I was to write my own revisionist back story, I'd say that Anakin developed psychological compulsion that he had to burn (or have all his victems burnt) because of some tramatic event he experienced as a young man.  Like a serial killer.

oh, i get you now. i will be adding more action to the single AT-AT falling shot.

Play clever! Like AOTC when the hellfire bombs the AT-TE shit, even the background is really busy the sound isolate the eye to focus on the explosion ;)

Did you mean when the hellfire bombs the AT-TEs hit?  :)
