Hey guys!!! In 2007 I went to Celebration Europe and I meet Robert Watts. He gave me his e-mail address and, the other day i asked him about the lost sandstorm scene and this is what he said: "Regarding the sandstorm sequence, I cannot remember what was in the script for this sequence as it was never in the movie. However attached is a photo taken during the shooting of this sequence. It shows left to right, David Tomblin the assistant director, myself, George Lucas and Richard Marquand the director. You can see how we are dressed, to protect us from the blowing sand. The sequence does not exist so I cannot get you a copy.

You got us a new pic from the cut sandstorm sequence!  You are the man!  As is Watts.   Send him a big thanks from Sluggo.

I noticed that this Treadwell might as well be called Deadwell, It's just sitting in the middle of the hanger not moving or working on anything, doesn't it know there is a war on?:

Not a bad idea.  Maybe a different color than the orange to distinguish it from that was seen everywhere on Tatooine.

To paraphrase Lady Bracknell "the colour is immaterial" I was refering to the fact it was a dead prop.

I don't know if it was meant to be moving but broke down or not but stuck where it is, it does look a bit of a strange place for the droid to power down.

Maybe just adding a bit of movement or removing/replacing it could be a possible solution.

I'm agreeing with you.  I'm just thinking if Ady does go ahead and add a little movement, maybe it could also include a change of the color.

Star Wars reshot opening for the imax special effects documentary clip in low quality
Time

It was done for the IMAX documentary on special effects called Special Effects: Anything Can Happen

I saw it a few times in the Air and Space Museum in Washington DC back in 96 or 97 or so.  It was really cool.  The shot of the Falcon blasting into hyperspace at the end was mindblowing.

It is a shame that this hasn't been released ever.

The imdb article is helpful: http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0117709/

Star Wars Infinities and What it could mean to the Prequels

But my suggestion was to use Infinities to backdoor complete rewrites.  Maybe reuse character names and likenesses if they have to.  And give it to authors that were working in Star Wars prior to the Prequels and had some private concept of what the Clone Wars were and how the Fall of the Jedi/Republic went down, etc. etc...

 I love this idea!

No way in H-E-Double-Hell is it going to happen.  And honestly, unless one of these Infinities ideas gets made into a movie, I don't think I'd be interested.

And on the flip side, what happens if Lucas gives the green light, and then some EU writer or video game programmer exposes the prequels as the joke that they are?  I don't see Lucas being secure enough to show him up as the beloved, flannel-wearing story-teller.

Check out the majority of threads on this website at the moment and you will get some fantastic ideas for this thread.

I like my Star Wars as I saw it in the theatre. Sorry!!

Aren't the majority of threads on this website just preservations of the various versions of the theatrical cut?

Unfortunately, no.

Star Wars Saga on Blu-ray (a joint venture project)
Time
Secondary Picture Track based on Clones Revealed, Sith Revealed, Beginning Star Wars, Building Empire, Returning to Jedi.

I don't know how good those would look compared to the HD versions of the Saga.  If you went the secondary picture track, I'd rather have the 97 SE and the 04 DVD as a secondary track and a color-corrected version with some of the more offesive SE parts removed as the main picture track.

And I like the idea of one trilogy per disc so I can watch my favorite movies all on one disc.

Animated menus would kick butt.

I always wondered did the good in luke and leia come from Padme? Or the love of the foster parents.   I mean their is little good shown in Anakin in the prequels as a confused and horny emo teenager, so i guess Its the foster parents, lol.

I mean good and evil as an hereditary thing rather than a moral choice.

That only works through the prequel lens of revisionist history.  I think I would prefer to say that Luke and Leia got their good qualities from Anakin and their mother even though the execution of the characters was botched.

Wasn't it something like "and you call yourselves human"?

That seems to be more of an expression of moral indignation than emotional turbulence.

Leia possibly had been trained to keep her emotions in check and stay focussed on the task at hand but going by what she does in ESB and ROTJ she often let's that slip and that must have been one hell of an emotional stab to the heart for her.

This line would have been interesting as it would have shortly followed the (then) cut line of "Jabba, you're a wonderful human being."  The contrast of these lines close together is interesting.
