Mix feeling about this one. Yes, I am tired of the constant makeovers of the original versions. But I don't think I'd want George to stop all of Star Wars new ideas and shows because, even though I don't like them, I don't want kids to grow up without new Star Wars items.
I'd be interested in a revamped Clapperboard as well. I think I'd only download stuff from '77 to before 1997, but I'm definitely curious.
That is a pretty cool idea! I've always liked making boxes for my custom DVD's.
Just a bump up for nostalgia's sake. New artwork is always welcome, but don't look for any prizes this time.

Well, thank heavens for more gimmicks. No need to worry about all those old fashioned things, like a good plot, or solid acting.

Honestly, I don't care if Star Wars is viewed as good or bad, popular or unpopular. I like watching the movies, I have a couple of the books left and a handful of toys that look on my DVD shelf. The OT movies are still a lot of fun for me. I just want a great Bluray transfer to watch a few times a year.

I sort of agree with this. I think some things really don't need to be examined in too much detail because they work and the audience does suspend any disbelief. The old issue of noise in space comes to mind. Sure it is not possible, but who really cares?
That said, I think that even though the OT works, doesn't mean it isn't open to critique or critical thinking. These discussions are an interesting look at the evolution of the story. I don't see it as really kvetching.
Just because something works doesn't mean that it can't work better.
