The one that absolutely drives me up the wall is when people preface anything with "quote, unquote"

Beyond perfect.
Hey, I though Words Mean Things. So what does that mean?
Words mean things, though.

usage Farther and further have been used more or less interchangeably throughout most of their history, but currently they are showing signs of diverging.
Further is also used as a sentence modifier <further, the workshop participants were scarcely optimistic — L. B. Mayhew>, but farther is not. A polarizing process appears to be taking place in their adjective use.
Yes; this is true, but I am determined to resist attempts to polarise time-honoured variant spellings.
The rest is all double Dutch to me. :-)
Anyone want to go dutch on some danishes?
I'd say that definitely is the case with the ol' utility belt.

Yikes! Anyone own this?
Yes, I actually do. And I might still have Sesame Street Fever.
Very disco discovery.
I like that one. Nice to see the old McQuarrie paintings in a new project.
19. Cosmetics testing
20. New thanksgiving meal Tur-Ewok-en. A chicken stuffed into a ewok stuffed into a turkey.
21. Pinata?
p.a.t.é (people for the appetizer treatment of ewoks) approves of this thread.
On topic: D. I only fault Lucas for making crummy prequels and only caring about the crummy special editions. For me, the financial part isn't important so I don't bother with the $.
Off topic: I'm surprised some rap artist hasn't used the name Ca$h. Johnnie Ca$h, perhaps.
Less off topic: I don't remember if zombie has talked it about on his site or in the book, but did Paplatine the senator first appear in the Star Wars novelization's prologue? And did Lucas pen that part or was it ADF?
That works for me. Let's do this like Brutis!

That forum used to be hopping. I used to spend all of my time there and then I migrated to haunting Off Topic most of the time.
What happened? Did we all get burned out? Are we in some kind of seventh year sabbatical?
There is plenty of general SW discussion. Most of it is happening in a certain SW Fan Edits thread.
Got teh email as well.
Since you brought it up, I do have a question about trading players. Is this something that has to be approved by the commissioner and what kind of deadlines will we have?
I've actually been looking at getting one of the droids. The only downside I can think of is having everyone I know ask me if I only got it because I am a Star Wars fan.
I really call it "Star Wars", but I don't mind "A New Hope" as that was the title of the movie in 1981 (they added it before Return of the Jedi and therefore the trilogy had been completed). Granted, it was the first bit of re-visionism, but it didn't change the plot of the movie, so I'll let it slide.
I can set the time aside for a weekend evening. Just let me know when.

Just a reminder for league members, the thread for news and advice (and smack) is here:

Sluggo, do you want a puppy or a beating?
I think it is a bit premature to think I'll be getting beatings in this league.

I have to disagree on that one. The Rebel fleet on started to win after Palpatine was killed. Palpatine was probably holding the Imperial fleet together with some kind of battle meditation. Once that was gone the Rebel fleet was able to gain the upper hand.
Timothy Zahn said the same thing in his Heir to the Empire trilogy. I disagree with this. Palpatine's death has little to do with Han blowing up the shield generator on Endor, which is where the battle really turned.
Raiders of the Lost Ark
Great flick
I think I am in love! Where has she been all of my life?
That clip looks amazing! I can't wait to see it with a huge roar of the engine as it passes the camera.
Dark Lord of the Sith, remember?

MagnoliaFan. Now there's a name I haven't heard in a long time... a long time.
This whole thread has a lot of names I haven't heard in a long time.
I agree with all of that. I don't mind new stuff being out. It keeps the brand alive, and as long as the brand is going, there is always the outside chance that I can get the old movies on Bluray someday. I don't really play video games so I've had to take folks word on TFU. And my nephew and brother-in-law really like the Clone Wars cartoons, so that tells me they aren't bad. I just don't like the whole prequel universe that they take place in, so I'm not into them.
To me, it really boils down to the fact that I want good quality product and media out there so it doesn't hurt the brand. If all that gets released is junk (I'm thinking of the Ewok movies and Ewok and Droid cartoons of the late 80's) the masses lose interest and the brand dries up.
