Jim Warbler
Jim Warbler
I just don't think it is a good idea to advertise this site as a bootleg clearinghouse.
And any who has read the credits of ANH: Revisited shouldn't have a problem figuring out who I actually is.
I've always imagined you as Jim Warbler.

I am making it my mission to direct as many people as I can here to inquire about the AVCHD's and NOT settle for yet another rendition on Blu-ray.
The AVCHD's are where it's at. :)
Ugh. No, don't.
I'm thinking about not being Sluggo anymore. I just don't feel "Sluggo"-like lately. I think Warb has the right idea by just using his real name and picture. I picked up the Sluggo nickname in my early 20's and now that I'm in my late 30's, I don't know if I want to be just another cartoon in a cartoon graveyard.

Aside from the fact that there won't be any OOT included, what about the fact that they're bundling the prequels with this set? So, half of the $150+ or whatever you'd be paying will be to purchase the prequels. I think that alone will turn a lot of people off.
$150? Is that right?

Hey there, buddy. You're living your life pretty well so far, and therefore I'm a gonna reward you. You have two choices - I'll give you a proper release of the OOT, or I'll give you (blank) you always wanted. Which will it be?
Maybe an internet forum that I can occasionally chat in without idiotic arguing about Mark Hamill's chin, the supposed armor on a model walking tank that was filmed in the late seventies, or any type of complaint that some fat man in plaid somehow raped their childhood.
Geez, I hate this place sometimes.
*sigh*

Did you really just do that? Your sheer idiocy surprises eve nme.
I'm on a Star Wars internet forum getting scolded by a kid pretending to be a cartoon mouse from the 90's. I need a life.

There you go, if you want a sock free saga you will have to do the hard work yourself.
What if I want a sock-free forum?

It's just been announced that the Blu-Ray box set will be 5.1 DTS-MA audio only, with no Dolby soundtrack

Anyone know what this is from?
Why is he shrinking as he jumps off the boat? Are they in the Bermuda triangle or some space-bending vortex?
Ok, maybe a 1080p will make a decent Blu-ray. Unless they do something to screw it up. I wouldn't be surprised to see some strong DVNR smearing or something else. I think the odds maybe 50-50 that the new blu-rays have the same problems of the 04 DVD's or end up with new problems.
Odds of it actually looking better? I'd give it a 0%.
Since ADF has been cited, I thought I'd back it up with a few quotes from the scripts:
Star Wars 4th draft:
They look for an exterior bridge control while the stormtroopers on the opposite side of the hatch begin making ominous drilling and pounding sounds.
LUKE
They're coming through!
LEIA
The controls must be on the other side.
Luke notices something on his stormtrooper utility belt. He pulls out a thin nylon cable, swings it across the metallic gorge and it wraps itself around an outcropping of pipes. He tugs on the rope to make sure it is secure, then grabs the princess in his arms swings across the treacherous abyss to the corresponding hatchway on the opposite side.
Just as Luke and Leia reach the far side go the canyon, the stormtroopers break through the hatch and begin to fire on the escaping duo. Luke returns the fire before ducking into the tiny sub hallway, closing the hatch behind him.

LUKE
They're coming through!
LEIA
I'm afraid the controls are on the other side!
Luke notices something on his stormtrooper utility belt. He pulls out a thin nylon cable, swings it across the metallic gorge and it wraps itself around an outcropping of pipes. He tugs on the rope to make sure it is secure, then grabs the princess in his arms. Leia looks at Luke, then kisses him quickly on the lips. Luke is very surprised.
LEIA
Just for luck. We're going to need it.
Luke pushes off and they swing across the treacherous abyss to the corresponding hatchway on the opposite side. Just as Luke and Leia reach the far side go the canyon, the stormtroopers break through the hatch and begin to fire on the escaping duo. Luke returns the fire before ducking into the tiny sub hallway, closing the hatch behind him.
Evidence seems to be lacking from the pen of Lucas. No miss here.

I'm gonna take this to General SW discussion and let this thread be reburied.

But also from this it looks like Lucasfilm aren't going to bother to restore the deleted scenes from the OT so god knows how bad the quality will be.
Would you rather them restore the scenes? No doubt Lucas would have a ronto walk infront of Biggs and Luke as they talked of joining the rebellion if LFL did any work on the scenes. If they are just releasing a raw capture, maybe we can do something with them.
hahaha!
Your Mom
All I know is that I am saving up for a blu-ray burner, because I anticipate some good de-specialization/preservation projects to come out.
Woot Woot!
It has been a long time, my friend.
And this was ironic...
Anyone know what is going on here?
