Pieces and even entire reels of 70mm prints have turned up on Ebay over the years, and they were all horribly faded, so this is amazing that someone has a decent print!
If only this "famous collector" was a member of our little group!
Ye gods! What the hell is up with Mark Hamill's hair!? Someone photoshopped an afro on him? O_o
Might these help? You need to register to get the cover images without watermarks though. http://www.lddb.com/laserdisc/1741/ID6764VV/Slipstream http://www.lddb.com/laserdisc/13447/SF047-1653/Slipstream-(1989)
IIRC, the jeep and falling Nazis were a stop motion element. Did they replace that as well?
Anybody recall the rumors ILM had done a lot of CGI tweaks for all 3 films and Spielberg vetoed them? Whether that South Park episode had anything to do with it we may never know! ;)
I have the Criterion set. This is the first time I've heard of Jason having a stereo track. (I recall reading somewhere the original score masters were lost.) Could this be a recent remix?
I do know the Pioneer Special Editions of 7th Voyage of Sinbad and Mysterious Island boast stereo tracks, but the liner notes give no clue to their age. Actually, the music is in stereo, and all dialog and sound effects stay in the center channel.
Has anyone preserved the Harryhausen documentary "Aliens Monsters and Me"?
The 1980 Get Smart movie, "The Nude Bomb" hits DVD next month. There is a lengthy chase scene through the Universal backlot and some tour attractions that no longer exist, including the "Battle of Galactica".
One of the five thousand MTV reality documentary shows followed a die hard SW fan around, trying to bond with his son. The father dresses as a Jedi at cons, his son eventually decides to go as a stormtrooper. Much post-production enhanced drama ensues...
I really don't think SW Legos rise to the level of awful. They offer playset possiblities Hasbro still drags their corporate butts on ever making. They aren't just slapping the Star Wars name on it. And that Lego movie is a lot more entertaining than ROTS. :P
And Legos spark creativity darn it! I made myself an X-Wing for my earlybird Luke complete with droid socket months before the Kenner ship came out. After Battlestar Galactica came along, I rebuilt it into a Viper. :)
Somewhere I've seen photos of a huge custom made Lego Star Destroyer complete with interior. Some guy is probably building a Death Star in his basement as we speak...
It's Bossk. There is a clearer less cropped version of that photo you can see on this page. http://www.starwarz.com/tbone/index.php?categoryid=18&p17_sectionid=10&p17_start=100
I agree. We saw Tatooine way too much in the prequels to jive with the "ass end of space" we saw in the OT. But whatever damage has been done won't get any worse...
Unless Anakin has a fight in the Mos Eisely cantina or Threepio bumps into Owen again. Then my head will explode. ;)
Like we need a legit release of the SWHS anyway. (The fan DVD versions are as good as anything FOX can put out at this point.) Maybe if Family Guy pays homage to it, Lucasfilm will change their tune. ;)
And how can they explain away John Williams scoring music for a scene never filmed? http://www.starwarz.com/tbone/index.php?categoryid=11&p2_articleid=428
An internally detailed prop saber for Luke to assemble apparently does exist... http://www.elstreeprops.com/Lightsabers_/lightsabers_.html
