Info: another 16mm print of SW on eBay
Time
I've seen decent prints get into the $800 range. Even a "flat" (full frame) print went for around $600. Empire and Jedi are more rare, and go well past $100.

As for theories of Lucas buying these prints...I saw the usual suspects bidding on these prints all the time. Their feedback history painted a picture of film collectors with a wide range of interests, and money to burn! ;)

.: The XØ Project - Laserdisc on Steroids :. (SEE FIRST POST FOR UPDATES) (* unfinished project *)

I have come across the website of a broadcast equipment dealer who apparently still sells industrial Pioneer players.
http://www.broadcaststore.com/
I haven't called to ask what their prices are though.

I was lucky enough to score a sealed LD-V4400 a few years ago on ebay, and I think it performs better than my now-busted combo player. It only plays Laserdiscs, and is built like a tank! No fancy features like auto-reverse that can break, so hopefully it will last me twenty years. ;)

Info: Raiders of the Lost Ark: Cliffhanger serial style! on youutbe
Time
I'm not sure how many of those old serials are out on DVD. (I had to special order just to get all of Flash Gordon and Buck Rogers!) I do recall seeing several other serials released on Laserdisc.

I'm really itching to see Secret of the Incas. It's apparently never had a proper video release. Given it's supposed to be a major influence on Raiders, (Charlton Heston even dresses a lot like Indy!) you'd think it would be out there already.

Crystall Skull has GL's fingerprints all over it

I liked it. I'm deeply sorry, and will watch the Holiday Special all the way through in order to do penance. Do I have to burn my OT.com membership card now? ;)

Were there any hidden Star Wars references? (Besides the obvious line spoken by Indy.) There was a nice little reference to the original King Kong near the end...

EDIT: I should have said Mighty Joe Young reference. Darn giant ape movies are too similar!

New 'The Clone Wars' movie trailer
Time
IIRC, the 70's Buck Rogers went through a couple changes in pre-production. It was going to be a miniseries, then they decided to make it a theatrical release. (It did well enough to warrant going ahead with the series.) If you've ever seen the movie, there are a few things too hot for network tv back then!

Sadly, the tamer, two part recut tv version with extra scenes isn't on the DVD set.

The Galactica pilot film was intended to be shown theatrically. (In Sensurround!) That's why there are two versions. Baltar is executed by the Cylons in the movie, yet he's spared in the tv series.

Yes, I was sad to hear about his passing. He always cracked me up in the Mel Brooks films.

Getting back to one of the items in MattMahdi's original post, The skit with Bill Murray singing "Star Wars! Nothing but Star Wars...! is on the SNL Season 3 DVD that's out now. The song ought to be the official anthem for this site! ;)

Carrie Fisher hosting SNL, (in full Leia dress and hairdo) will be in the season 4 set.

i think their are three writers because they are combining several of the tv episodes together to make this movie. Though some material will be exclusive to the movie and an eventual dvd release.

That makes sense.

This way they can make people buy the show twice! Wait, plus the thater ticket. Its a cash cow that Walt Disney could have never imagined.

Walt combined Davy Crockett episodes and put a movie on the big screen in the 50's. And cleaned up to boot! I think there might have been a Zorro movie done that way too. ;)
