Funny how some of the OT deleted scenes on Blu Ray seem to have those same rounded edges to the frame.

George's Original Unaltered Trilogy.
Usually refers to the non-anamorphic "bonus discs" that came out in 2006.
And Moth3r beat me to it by a mile! That's what I get for taking a bathroom break before hitting reply! ;)
That's an interesting question! Were any of the SE FX even eligible for an Academy award nomination at the time?
Yes, I did! Just forgot some of the finer details.
I thought it was interesting to hear him talk about it on the commentary. I doubt George would ever mention it these days. ;)
Spike is running the movies again. Creepy puppet Yoda still lives for now. ;)
If they took a pic a couple frames after this, and the Tie matte blooper was visible on the Falcon, we'd know for sure!
Only if we bought some Packers jerseys. ;)
Egad, not in front of the children!
You're so banned!
One hazard of being famous is if you're having a bad day, it's transcribed into the public record for all time.
Remember the story about Alec Guinness and the kid who happily told him he's seen Star Wars about a hundred times? And that was before everyone had a cell phone camera in their pocket!
On the flip side of the same coin, roasting in a droid costume you can't even really sit down in for hours on end could make anyone really pissy. ;)
Welcome aboard, Marcus!

Dear Lucasfilm:
Eat all the dicks.
My brain has been blown!
Did you ever get your hands on the Jedi fullscreen version DVD?
The evil that is Coily will not die easily. ;)
Is the conversion from PAL to NTSC a long and laborious process?
Came across a THX still on Ebay with an interesting little detail in it.
I guess that would explain a lack of pre-production concept art, which exists even for the likes of the Holiday Special.
I'm surprised there wasn't a throwaway line about Han being off to pay Jabba to explain things.
Those DC comics animation projects exist outside of whatever screwy continuity the books have between reboots anyway, so I don't see why a SW project can't be it's own standalone thing.
Was there any evidence to suggest Splinter made it as far as an actual shooting script?
Didn't know it was available, thanks for finding that!
Now how about the 3D Indiana Jones knockoff "Treasure of the Four Crowns"? ;)
Works for me! Watched it on the big screen. The logo and titles from the DVD blend in very well now. To the casual viewer it will be seamless. :)
Before Japanese imports became available in the late 80's, letterboxed LD's were usually not a viewing option.
I don't miss it either, but it's a part of home video history.
Haven't some SE shots been undone using Pan and Scan sources?
I remember when it was a badge of honor to have watched the HS all the way through and survived.
One good thing did come out of it though.
I had a headache by the time the film was over, but the severed fish head floating out of the screen was cool. I still recall people in the front rows reaching out to try and touch it. ;)

I need to dig out my copy of Shrek 3D, (the theme park one) and see if the red and blue glasses work better on current flat screens. It was usually hit or miss with the 3D broadcasts of the '80's, and less than perfect colors on old analog tube tv sets.
Can we please get back to talking about Star Wars on Blu Ray?
Lucasfilm needs to have something up their sleeve when The Clone Wars eventually wraps up. I don't see the live action series happening any time soon.
I'd pay money to see adaptations of Splinter of the Mind's Eye or the Brian Daley Han Solo books.
Was browsing Video Savant's page, and found out Peter Cushing's very first film appearance, the 1939 version of "The Man in the Iron Mask" is coming out on DVD in February. Mark your calendars.
