I like the idea that Vader's voicebox is malfunctioning in it's first use. I doubt such a device is factory default set to "scary voice" right out of the box? ;)
I once thought it would be fun if someone wrote code that made old, seldom visited websites get covered in digital cobwebs and dust. You'd have to wave your cursor around to clear it away.

Probably been posted before, but this fanmade Anime is just about the best original thing to happen to Star Wars in about two decades...

Ryan, check out the link I posted in the 'Last Movie Seen' thread of the Grindhouse trailer. It's brilliant.
^ No matter how many times I re-read that, I've no idea what you are saying lol
Impressive! Reminds me of Space Battleship Yamato aka Star Blazers, which may have influenced Star Wars. Lucas visited Japan around the time the series aired.

You've lost me..;)
Jar Jar's head on Natalie's body would be truly terrifying...
But will it be available in the original Klingon?
I've thought the Backstroke of the West dub sounds a bit like the Bard...
Just saw the latest tv spot...
The hell?! Perry White is freaking Morpheus? This thing is just a Matrix reboot with an incredibly tight fitting rubber suit? ;)
Alta Vista, the first search engine a lot of us early net surfers ever used in the 90's, will be derezzed next week.

Try to recall what you used to search for back then, in the time before The Borg Google, and give the old girl one last click?
Good thing I didn't use that still from the movie posted earlier in the thread. :P
Yeah, the sight of Natalie Portman in a skimpy outfit has no place in a PG-13 rated film. Especially one where the hero slaughters little kids, gets his other three limbs chopped off, then bursts into flames on camera, while his mentor and friend stands around and watches. ;)
I was in Walgreen's last week, and there was Awake sitting right on top of the DVD blowout bin. I had a good laugh over that.
Your Highness has some choice Natalie Portman dialog, especially in the extras, (just watched the Blu Ray last night) but I'm not sure all the deleted/extended scenes are on the DVD version.
As I've said before, the bathing scene could figure into one of Anakin's dreams/nightmares. ;)

the original German film (which I have seen, don't ask why)
Er, why would we? It's a classic.
Yeah, in these parts you're much more likely to get questioned if you haven't seen it.
In fact, while reading your post I almost wondered if perhaps it was a typo and you meant to say "which I haven't seen, don't ask why".
I forgot about the character of those on this forum for a moment. In my opinion, most people would consider watching Metropolis to be an endurance test, not just a chore. It is rather long and the acting of the time was sometimes painful to watch.
*cough* Moroder version *cough*
That print is long gone, or so they told me.
I transferred both THX LD's for msycamore, plus the truly awful pan and scan version.
I already made inquiries about that print a while back. I was told they no longer have it.
The THX LD is such a dodgy film print and video master to begin with, I'm not sure how much more there is to squeeze out of it. I'm not opposed to trying, but Coily is still going to be stuck in the frame for a good portion of the finale. I'm starting to think I need to sacrifice a goat for decent scope film print to turn up.
I think a preservation of all the 2001 CAV extras is a good idea. The CAV still galleries give my recorder a bit of trouble though. I have the other MGM LD editions with a couple things not on the Criterion.
I was at the Kubrick exhibit in L.A. on the next to last day before it closed. It was so crowded, I didn't watch the video installations in the 2001 section long enough to see if they had any BTS footage not seen elsewhere.
Starting to worry about msycamore a bit...
Not like there's a THX LD preservation thread or anything like that around here. ;)
Wow! You're going to need a climate controlled vault at this rate. ;)
Congrats on winning those. You could probably sell off the other reels in the batch and recoup your costs either way.
As I've said before, Disney has paid billions to get their paws on Star Wars. They have a vested interest in making the best film possible. (And getting something back on their investment.) If the sequel doesn't break box office records, corporate heads will roll, and the whole deal will be considered a colossal failure in the eyes of the investors.
Nobody at the house of mouse wants another John Carter sized debacle.
Not sure how they could do Doomsday without doing the whole Death of Superman storyline though. That's an awful lot to cram into one movie.
Just once during the run of DS9, Brooks should have been seen exiting the holodeck in the guise of Hawk.
Could it be the original theatrical cut?

Difficult to see. Always in motion the future is.
It occurred to me last night he could be at the funeral. He wears black Vulcan attire in The Motion Picture.
In the clip I posted of Jar Jar getting shot, someone suggested that Spock could do it.
I remember that. I can only see evil Spock actually capable of doing the deed though. ;)
