Welcome home!
And yes, horse pills suck. ;)
Welcome home!
And yes, horse pills suck. ;)
Even the Laserdisc doesn't go for that much dough. (Probably the same video master anyway.) Way overpriced for VHS.
I can vouch I was nowhere near the UK at the time. ;)
Thanks for the kind offer. Now, I just have that Warriors auction to fret over. ;)
Jim and Ken Wheat, who wrote and co-directed Ewoks: The Battle For Endor, also co-wrote the screenplay for Pitch Black. Mind blown!
It's all over youtube as well.
Won it, but it wasn't cheap. Not crazy about these things being bundled with unrelated bits. It's nuts to be in competition with someone who probably isn't even after the trailer you want.
If the THX spot can be safely removed from the rest of the reel, I'll sell it off down the line to defray the cost.
If the Henson Creature Shop was working on the sequels, that would make me really happy.
Interesting, if it's remotely true.
In that case, Lon Chaney, Sr. as the Emperor:

This is getting into mean spirited territory. Lay off the Lucas bashing just a tad?
If you're going to have A Fish Called Wanda in there, how about Lancelot's rampage from Holy Grail, or even the killer rabbit? ;)
The tv spot would be one minute or even 30 seconds long. The trailer was three minutes. It might be similar to the trailer, it might not. If the price doesn't go up too much, I think it's worth getting.
Wow, more SW/Who connections!
I can't recall when the Master got more hostile towards the Doctor. I guess reaching the end of your regenerations, then stealing yourself a new body to cheat death makes one more evil and twisted?
In the Pertwee era, I got the impression the Master was like Moriarty to the Doctor's Holmes. There was some mutual respect, but no real malice. In other words, he wasn't going to kill the Doctor unless it served his purposes.
I still think the deadlings should all curse in unision. ;)
Threepio should say something that upsets Padme.
I was seriously expecting you to have the Johnny's laughing as they kill Jedi.
If you don't use the "Goofy holler" for Mace's fall, it could work on Obi Wan's plunge.
Jonathan Harris as Tarkin.

Andre The Giant as Chewbacca. (Lee Majors provided for scale.)

Mime performer Robert Shields as C-3PO. His partner and former wife Lornene Yarnell actually played Dot Matrix in Spaceballs. Their best known characters were a robotic couple who frequently suffered mechanical problems.

Well after that NSync rumor, you have to be careful about such things. ;)
George was on the record against colorization though.
Checked the release dates of the other movies in that auction, and they are all from between 1965-1974. This increases the odds the THX spot is from the original release and not the '78 reissue. The plot thickens!
Oh hell yes. Borrow that Panavision camera used for SW that sold at auction, refurb it, and use vintage lenses while they're at it. ;)
That's a new one to me. Were you logging in from somewhere other than home, like wi-fi in a public place?
Characters and situations should be driven by the needs of the story, not the desire to create as many toy options as possible.
Every character needs their moment in the spotlight. That thing that only they can do to help everyone else out/push the story along. Even ROTJ mostly got this right. This goes hand in hand with don't bring back a character for a glorified cameo if they have no impact on the plot.
Don't take us where we've already been unless there's a damn good reason to go back there. Tatooine has been done to death.
Keep light saber battles realistic, this isn't The Matrix.
Star Wars needs to be fun again. (A word George himself once used to describe the original film.) That doesn't mean it can't be dark in places, but people need to come out of the theater exhilarated and happy, and itching to see it again.
I don't know, the red sith lady is kind of hot. ;)
And what the heck does Marylin Manson have to do with Star Wars?
