What is the Shatner problem you're having?
What is the Shatner problem you're having?
Oh good. You're back.

What's a spambot exactly?
It's gone, I'm sad to see it go.

"Keir Dullea" totally sounds like a name that would exist in the SW Universe.
One of the 2001 spacepods is in TPM, so anything is possible. ;)
Sounds like my recurring dream of being able to shop again in a now long gone store in L.A., that I considered to be Laserdisc heaven.

Thank you Smith Henry. I was waiting to hear something positive about it.
You're replying to a spambot. Notice the grayed out post? They were banned.
Suddenly, it all makes sense!

It's called being diplomatic. ;)
One could argue the Boba that takes Han away in ESB is the real deal. He got his bounty and left Jabba's palace. The "fake" returned some time later and got embroiled in the events of Han's rescue.
And lest we forget, assuming a bounty hunter's identity is already an established concept in the OT.
Since when was CAPS an archival format? I thought CAPS was merely the replacement for ink and paint cels, the finished image being output to film the same way cels once were. I can't even imagine there were hard drives big enough to store the entirety of BATB and Aladdin in their finished form in early 90's.
I could have sworn I read an article someplace around the time the IMAX reissues began, that mentioned the difficulties just resurrecting those original animation files.
Thanks for the support.
I was pissed I missed out on an auction for the 35mm trailer a couple months back. Can't be too many of those around.
You mean like these?

Not sure why the pages aren't linked anymore.
Newspapers delivered over the telephone lines? What will they think of next?

And that is the cutest computer terminal I've ever seen at 1:57!
Anybody else get a pm from a Smith Henry? They're banned now, but I'm curious how many members besides me got a private message.

Nothing quite like getting a new DVD in the mail, and hearing the soothing sound of the disc rattling loose in the case when you pick it up.
Yuck! I hate that so much!!! :-(
Amazingly, not a scratch on the disc. Must have come loose recently. I have a theory cold temps makes discs pop off the "press to release" style hubs in transit sometimes. Last time this happened, the disc was really scuffed up.
The picky completist in me is annoyed the "collectible booklet" is missing though. ;)
Interesting, I don't think I ever saw a car VHS deck in the states that wasn't mono.

Caroline Blakiston is still working according to the IMDB...

I'm sure there is some other role Dame Judi could be playing. Having her in the movie would echo Alec Guinness in the original.

Wait, VCRs are still made today?
This is fairly recent.

Believe it or not, it's not made in China, and has a lot of metal parts that went plastic in the last generation of VHS decks. Pity it's mono.

Kenneth Branagh as (young) Obi-Wan
All the joking aside, this would have been genuinely an amazing casting choice that could have been.
^ This is what he looked like at almost exactly the time TPM was being shot and at the time AOTC was being shot...
...he looks even more like a young Guinness. Bet he could do the voice too.
Branagh is also a capable movie director. (He even did the first Thor.) I wouldn't be very surprised if he gets offered one of the other sequels or spinoffs.
Only The Wild Life has a Dolby Stereo credit on the theatrical poster.
Video boxes often simply copied the poster text, so there's no way to know for sure about the music.
DuracellEnergizer said:
Then he would have been played by Mel Brooks ;-)
It would be so awesome if Mel, or any other Spaceballs cast member was in one of the sequels.
A quick perusal of Ebay reveals TWL was Hi-Fi on VHS, but has the dreaded "home video version" on the back, which used to mean some music on the soundtrack may have been replaced.
Private School only seems to have Dolby NR visible on the labels. (MCA Home Video) There is a later version with the MCA/Universal home video logo on the box that would be more likely to have Hi-Fi tracks.
Anything reissued on the Goodtimes video labels should be avoided. (Universal farmed out a lot of bargain bin titles to them.) The tapes I got from them usually were recorded in the six hour SLP speed, and had poor tracking and usually no Hi-Fi.
Beta Hi-Fi tapes would be in a lot better shape at this point, if copies could be found.
Kids. ;)
