They do.
They do.
Yet, most of the Marvel years have been ignored.
Anything happening with this lately? There's another adapted scope 16mm on Ebay with 16 hours left to go.
I don't know what is sadder, the tiny SW section at Toy R' Us these days, or the fact I had to explain to employees what a Viewmaster is.
When I finally did find them in the store, all they had were a couple gift sets. I was after the individual Star Wars reels that are a store exclusive. The 3D of ROTS that comes with the Vader styled viewer was very underwhelming.
Better than the fakey, cardboard cutout 3D that sometimes was released for a movie that never actually had stereoscopic photos shot on set, (E.T. was the worst offender) but not by much.
Can't the EU continue on it's merry way while the new films come out?
AFAIK, this isn't even an issue with Trek fans, and that particular EU has been around a lot longer.
Holy! We need a Ocean's 11 type plan, fast!
I hope someone can at least attend, and tell us if the extended SEN scene is in there. With our luck, this will be yet another version to drive us insane. ;)
On a related note, I finally had the floorspace to set up the projector last night, and screen that reel with the THX tv spot I won last month. I will try to post my cheap, nasty capture of it over the weekend.
There were lots of cool spots for other films, (which would be great for that grindhouse THX I keep thinking of) plus a rarely seen GP rating card. A nice bonus.

I'ts my suspicion that they will (unfortunately) include Chewie in the sequels. If this happened, however, it would only invalidate the EU back to and including the Yuuzhan Vong war, which is when I stopped reading the EU anyway. So it wouldn't be a deal breaker for me by any means to include Chewie, and it might make more sense (from their perspective) to leave the EU accuracy vague as to what was cannon before the Yuuzhan Vong.
Unfortunate?! No Wookiee no sale! ;)
I don't think Peter Mayhew would have undergone that painful back surgery, and intensive physical therapy, if Chewie's return wasn't on the table.

This thread jogged my memory of a cassette tape I had as a youngster that had (Slightly dodgy funky/disco but wonderful) re-recorded versions of many of the Sci-Fi themes a kid could need. Before the intrawebz this was a great cheap way to get all the space music you wanted without forking out for a dozen LPs (They were often sold at Motorway garage shops in the UK). Yay! :-D
I 'think' it was this (But a cassete tape)
But I don't think the cover looked like that.
This is more like what I remember.
But I'm sure my copy had more tracks than that ^. I'd swear down dead it had 'Star Beyond Time' at least. Maybe I had a double cassette version. Anybody remember these things?
I played that thing to death.... wish I still had it.
(Edit: Fixed image)
The bottom image works now.
^Broken images, Ryan.
Joel, if you search on Ebay for "Star Wars Disco", you'll get a good sampling of what came out back then. Saw some there that I've never heard of!

Thanks! I've made it to the part where you say you've spent 200k on this... WOW! That alone means no one here has the right to criticize your efforts, that's a serious sacrifice for the love of film and SW. I hope the powers that be recognize that when the time comes...
Other people around here have spent their own money to obtain film prints and the like. They simply choose not to discuss it.

Maybe Obi-wan and Vader's force ghosts can have a lightsaber battle.
Seriously, it would be a terrible idea. However, a new villain in a similar suit would be cool.
That thought has crossed my mind. Vader's suit had to have been modeled after something ancient sith lords must have worn.
Whoops!

Wasn't there a thread about TFN forums in off topic? Do we really need to stink up this one?
Isn't that also a domain name though?
Amazing we haven't had a Jar Jar returns rumor yet.
Not sure this warrants a new thread, and one of those "sources" publishes a lot of rubbish rumors anyway.
Having said all that, bringing Vader back from the dead is the biggest whizz Disney could possibly take on the OT. Anakin's a ghost, and the Vader armor was burned. (And hell no to someone putting on a spare set of armor and pretending to be Vader, Friday the 13th did that shtick already.) Create a new villain, and make him/her/it interesting. No Ani clones, no Emperor clones, and no Jar Jar secretly being a sith lord all along.
More Vader in Episode III would have been great, but that ship has sailed...

Blu-ray.com has deleted my account twice (I tried a second time), leaving no trace of it behind.
In both cases I didn't even have enough time to make a single post. I can't even try to recover my password because "You have not entered an email address that we recognize".
This is such bullshit.
Give the Home Theater Forum a try? It's a much nicer place. ;)

I think that with a competent director, with a decent script, Hayden can deliver an adequate performance. He's no great thespian, though, and probably never will be.
He was quite good in Awake, made right after ROTS. Frink can back me up on this. ;)
Can we take the Hayden stuff elsewhere now?

Original Chewbacca concepts:
I hate to be that "negative" guy again... but there is a reason why these (imo bad) designs did not make it past the drawing board.
There's nothing wrong with the design. It happens to be my second favorite concept figure behind the McQuarrie Vader. I actually wanted Kenner to make this when I was a kid. Only took three decades...

If Lucas had not seen the July 1975 issue of Analog magazine, it might have been a different story.

And yes, that cover is where my handsome visage comes from. ;)
Heh heh! Reminds me of this little ditty...
NSFW
P.S. Has Youtube been really buggy for anyone else lately? I got a blank green screen when I hit the replay button, and that's just the tip of the weirdness with them lately.
None of those thespians ever had to interact with a tennis ball on a stick though. ;)
It's a movie based on lurid 1960's trading cards, (Kids love 'em!) and in that respect it's spot on. And I think more highly of it than ID4. ;)
Anyone seeing a pattern in the outages?

And nice dig at the librarian. Have you thought about using the videogame cut scene where Anakin dispatches her?
Is it useable? I assume it looks like a video game.
How about a crunching sound when they first hug? ;)
And I just had the idea of Padme's hair brushing making a scraping noise or something...
Maybe on both counts.
JEDIT:Shouldn't you bring back the "dun dun dun!" music you used every time Padme mentioned her baby in TRM?
I actually had that music sting in there originally, but I changed it to the stupid song because I thought that was a little more fun (and made a little more sense, given how stupid he is to buy it).

Maybe you can just use a quick shot of it during Order 66?
There's also the cutscene where Nute Gunray flees before Anakin kills all the separatists. Keep him alive for the OT? ;)
