I knew he worked on The Dark Crystal, but I didn't realize he had worked with Kubrick. TDC was a good movie to go out on.

Ah, it's been a while since I've seen that one.
How do we know they didn't succeed? ;)

Instead of calling Chewie a walking carpet, Leia could express her love for him? (Inspired by the following:)

Leia and Chewie would make the best parents.
Carrie did express her regret she didn't have any love scenes with Chewie at the MTV movie awards. ;)
Let me rephrase that. Were they used to replace/impersonate important, like the Brigadier? With an Auton, the jig is up soon as they flip you off. ;)
I rewatched TSOD recently as well. Reminds me of a science fiction story I read ages ago where the world was totally dependent on such transmat type devices. Houses didn't even have doors anymore, which caused all sorts of problems when things inevitably go awry. I wonder if Who was inspired by that or the other way around?
I don't think Autons were ever used to impersonate real people? I really need to get my hands on some Tom Baker stories before they go out of print.
Green meat eating rabbits rock. And I'm not just saying that because I hang out with him. ;)
The Episode VII thread is that a way. ;)

Maybe in a slow news week that would have made it on the air.
It's sad how fast that crap propagates without anyone casting doubts on it.
Cast you mind a few pages back and you find it's not just hoaxers who confuse thing.
That was funny.
Always wondered how People magazine thought Abe Vigoda was dead in 1982. Still alive as of this posting of course.
Let us hope they tease us with some photos soon. Seeing the old gang in costume is going to be the thing that takes this from abstract to "This is really happening!" for me.
Anybody else notice the official site has shamelessly copied our browser tab icon? ;)
They owe you a refund for all the cumulative downtime. ;)

Well, we never got a non EU answer for that cave that really wasn't a cave on Dagobah, so J.J. will fit right in. ;)
Are you referring to that artificial-looking archway inside the cave? I don't think the EU's actually addressed that. Wookieepedia's article on the cave doesn't even bring it up.
The EU still gave us more than the prequels did. There were fan theories for years about what happened in there to make it saturated in the Dark Side, and an expectation we would see it in the the PT. Yoda initially referred to it as a place, not a cave.
I wonder if there are blueprints for that set somewhere that could give clues?

Straight out of Ralph McQuarrie's paintings! I knew some helmet replicas had been made, but it's the first time I've seen a complete concept costume. :)
So you haven't been following Rebels then I take it?
That's awesome! I hope somebody makes a fan film with those suits. :)
That poster is very retro, and reminds me of this as well...

There has unfortunately been a lot a drama behind the scenes on that project. I contributed materials to it ages ago myself.

Don't know if this has been posted before, but it made me laugh.

This is getting tiresome. :(
Okay, I got you. I thought you were talking about Disney taking over. ;)
Are you sure about that? Wookieepedia says the comic ended in 2005...

I remember he guest hosted The Tonight Show a lot, a concept that doesn't really exist in talk shows anymore.

If Disney releases the OUT, will they replace the 20th Century Fox fanfare/logo at the beginning? Even if the entire rest of the movie after that is the unaltered theatrical version, it still wouldn't be acceptable to me. I'm already having a hard enough time accepting the fact that every Star Wars movie from now on (starting with VII) will not open with the fox logo/fanfare... if Disney removes it from any of the previously released movies, I won't buy a copy.
They probably wouldn't. Warner Bros. didn't replace the MGM logo at the start of the original Tom & Jerry cartoons.
It could go either way. When Disney briefly had the video rights to The Dark Crystal in the 90's, they lopped off the Universal logo, along with the opening notes of the soundtrack! It's been intact on all Sony/Columbia versions.
They might have done something similar with the Muppet films, but I haven't watched my LD's in a while.
