Hand drawn animation seems to be thriving on television at least.
Hand drawn animation seems to be thriving on television at least.
Uncanny resemblance to the Fembots, who were recurring foes of The Six Million Dollar Man and The Bionic Woman from 1976 onwards...

Steve Austin battled an android or two prior to that though.
Didn't Terror of the Zygons also end with an unresolved invasion fleet on the way?
I thought Speilberg's involvement with the Transformers movies was more for marquee value? (Kind of like George's producer credit on Howard The Duck.) They seemed to have downplayed it for the sequels once the first one made truckloads of moolah anyway...

Wish there hadn't been two random black people in the background of one scene.
So Disney made another cracker-as-cracker movie, all white folks having a good time. But they insert two black people into the back of one crowd shot. This instantly makes me think two things.
- Cracker-ass-cracker Disney plainly knows this is a cracker-ass-cracker movie, and they think throwing in these two colored folks make it all ok.
- In this fictional world black people plainly exist, which just draws attention to the fact they don't even speak and all the characters who even get a close-up are more cracker-ass-crackers.
I wasn't aware the movie took place down South. ;)
This is hardly a new problem with most fairy tales, as the source material is largely old and European. And it's not like Disney didn't try doing something different a few years back.

Isn't it possible modern stop motion seems more fluid because they are shooting digital these days? (Which also allows instant playback classic animators like Ray Harryhausen could only have dreamed of.)
It all still boils down to an animator moving the figures slightly and clicking off a frame.

My wife and I watched the clip of Billy Dee on Dancing with the Stars. I'd never been more embarrassed, but then it cut to Ewoks in the audience cheering him on and I thought I'd die of shame.
I'm not sure this is the first ABC/Disney/Star Wars crossover, but it's not a good start. Those guys were too damned tall to be Ewoks. >_<
If Star Wars could feature tall Jawas, some silly reality TV show can feature tall Ewoks. =P
It's specifically mentioned in Classic Creatures when they were casting the Ewoks, they actually rejected some little people for being too tall. I've seen photos of shorter Ewoks in the theme parks.
Imagine if they had a Vader who was too short. Or a Chewie...
Those drunk horny Ewoks on the Today show a few years back were the right height. ;)
Lucasfilm has always been consistent about having the Star Wars characters look right in public appearances, and for Disney, this was a little sloppy.
Fascinating!
Lynch has probably had his fill of films set on arid desert planets though. ;)
It's unfortunate ILM pretty much abandoned Go Motion. With stop motion animation alive and kicking, I'm surprised nobody else has revived and refined the technique.

I'm well aware they made O'Brien's life miserable about twice a season.
Does that count all the times his boring wife showed up? ;-)
Ouch. I wonder if her first marriage when she was marooned on Earth in the early 1950's ever came up? ;)

what episode is that from?

Coincidentally, I think it was also the first time they did something awful to O'Brien. Sort of...
Christopher Walken, if nobody has suggested him yet...

He's a great dancer, which would be a plus with the lightsaber fights.

Original actors only in the lead spots, please. No generic 2000's actors, thank you. We don't need generation facebook dweebs like that Hayden Christiansen buttwipe ruining any other Star Wars films. OK? BTW, Leia is WAY sexier than that generic Padme'...Leia has more attitude and would be better in bed. But if you like cold fish..well, Padme' for you.
Stay classy San Diego.
Not to mention Hayden was cast almost four years before Facebook even existed. ;)
I had no idea there were so many cover versions of this old classic.
Of course, any new music might obscure Frink's planned offscreen death of a beloved character.

Anyone who thinks Geordi gets tortured an unfair amount doesn't know about O'Brien Must Suffer. Good thing Colm Meaney really excelled at the role.
I'm well aware they made O'Brien's life miserable about twice a season.
But you don't see anybody else on the Enterprise D get abused as much as Geordi. It would be too contrived to do it to Picard more than once, (Jean Luc going on a secret mission was a stretch to begin with) Worf would enjoy it too much, and ditto some fans if they stuffed Wesley in an agonizer booth. ;)

Is it just me, or does Geordi get captured and tortured a lot? Levar and Malcolm must have had some interesting conversations on the set...
The torture scene might have been a little too weird had they left it in, if you're familiar with Levar's other iconic tv role...
Farscape wins (this isn't even the worst bit):
Holy! How did I miss that episode? Between that and Harvey/Scorpious' farewell in Peacekeeper Wars, somebody was a Kubrick fan. :)
Really looking forward to Guardians of the Galaxy, because it looks like fun in the way Star Wars used to be. Also, pissed off raccoon with big guns...
There's a lot to be said for taking the high road.
However, unless the grave is on private property, and watched 24/7, it's likely someone will sneak in and personally water it.

Random idea time.
When Anakin sets off to Palpatine's office, the engine in his speeder initially refuses to turn over?
Anakin's trip could be set to this tv theme song, which has lyrics that could almost be about him. Or it could just be playing on the radio...
You clearly had him confused with that Bucky O' Hare chap. ;)
There are also all those photos of Leia making out with Chewie that might come in handy later on. ;)
