I do recall seeing mention of it in magazines of the day, but the actual source of the information was always obscure. (I doubt anyone involved was going to let pictures be taken back then.) As there seem to be other Atari items buried there, it would be interesting if some prototype games or hardware was found.

A similar story circulated a decade ago regarding Image Entertainment dumping their last remaining Laserdisc stock into a landfill.

I dunno, I think they should at least try to fit Episode 7 in the "old" continuity. I don't see any scenario as "too constraining" for the filmmakers. If anything, having parameters in which to work might actually breed creativity more than a blank slate would.

Chewie's dead in the old continuity. That's pretty constraining.

I don't get it. It's just a dead animal.

Star Wars: Episode VII to be directed by J.J. Abrams **NON SPOILER THREAD**

One big thing I'm curious about is whether Abrams and Mindel will be shooting some scenes in IMAX like on the last Star Trek movie. Brad Bird and Claudio Miranda are shooting some of Tomorrowland (also from Disney) in the format, just as Bird did with Robert Elswit on Ghost Protocol. I wanna say there was a story about JJ "wanting to," but no confirmation.

A Star Wars movie with scenes in native 15/70 is pretty much the only thing that would get me to see it anywhere other than the Uptown.

A Tomorrowland movie? Except for Pirates of the Caribbean,  Disney hasn't had much success turning their theme park attractions into films. An It's a Small World movie will likely bring about the apocalypse. ;)

Is that real or is it a satirical site? I mean, I know there are some really cuckoo religious people out there but these "Jesus is a pervert"-shirts? Come on!

Satirical, yet people keep falling for it. ;)
