Damn! unamochilla2 and Ricolie_2! You're fast! ;)
Damn! unamochilla2 and Ricolie_2! You're fast! ;)
I'm a tad suspicious of those pics, as a life size TIE and even a snowspeeder have been seen at one of the official cons. Unless J.J. borrowed them?
The Falcon cockpit might be legit, but I think a replica was made for that one educational traveling museum exhibit.
The last one is Sam Wessel's speeder from AOTC. Unless the prop is being reused?
Sci Fi used to send out VHS tapes of their original programming for review and promotional purposes, so there's always a chance a copy might exist and pop up on Ebay.
The number of these specials that have not been included on the season sets is maddening.
And who whizzed in the coffee of youtube comment #3? ;)
I take it that it's not the same footage as the featurettes on the DS9 season five DVD set?

Until two days ago I never realized just how much I hate the term "electric boogaloo".
Isn't that kind of the point? It was a silly subtitle for a sequel to a now mostly forgotten break dancing movie, and became a joke on MST3K mostly referring to sequels, nobody was really clamoring for.

Personally, I wish Vader had brought in a creepy Dr. Strangelove-type character armed with a giant needle instead of that clunky floating cue ball.
But I digress ...
Mien Emperor! I can walk!
Now that I think about it, a Strangelove type fellow who once served the Empire, but is too brilliant/valuable to the new Republic to imprison could be interesting.
And that's Dr. Ball, M.D. to you! ;)

And before the snark patrol goes into full effect, the OP is posting from somewhere inside Russia, and the nuances of language may be lost in translation.
It's amazing no spy pictures have emerged of Ford being whisked away to the hospital, or taken after he was there, well away from the web of studio security. I doubt they would have taken his costume off beforehand.
And unamochilla2 beat me to it. ;)
That is a doctored version of a reddit photo he posted in April.

This photo is more recent...

Sigourney wants to make another movie. I wonder if they would pretend Alien 3 and Resurrection never happened?

Any updates?
Also, a painting of interest...
At least the situation isn't as bad as it could have been.
The Trek influence on NASA's design is unmistakable.

The "ringship" was an early unused Matt Jeffries design for TOS, that has since become a canon ship since it's first brief appearance in TMP. It's most recently appeared in STID.
Gentlemen, and ladies, there are other threads for such weighty discussions not directly related to Ady's work. Please make use of them.

I saw a fresh 70mm print of 2001 in the Seattle Cinerama last month. Two observations:
-Smilebox looks nothing like what one sees in the cinema, simply due to the differences between having the curve in the center of one's vision vs. in the peripheral.
-The color was, to my memory, close to the blu-ray (though it's hard to judge as the gamut of film is somewhat larger than REC709).
The single camera films aren't going to look quite like the three panel films though. And 2001 apparently never had prints optically "rectified" for the Cinerama screen.

It's a Mad Mad Mad Mad World was rectified for Cinerama, and I think the optical distortion can be seen in some of the "lost" footage restored for the recent Criterion Blu Ray.
What's funny is the director didn't make the Star Wars connection until they were shooting. And I'm flashing back to that movie every time I see a shadow. ;)
With new Star Wars films coming out, the issue of spoilers has become relevant again. As a courtesy to those who want to go remain spoiler free, spoilers should be posted in the the appropriate thread.
As teasers and trailers can give away important plot details some would rather not know before seeing the film, discussion of those details are also restricted to spoiler threads ONLY.
Deliberately posting plot spoilers in thread titles for the purpose of ruining the movie for others, a.k.a “for the lulz” will not be tolerated.
Example: OMG!!! SO AND SO DIES IN EPISODE X!!!
This applies equally to the Off Topic section of the site, where people would not expect to see plot spoilers. This is a ban-able offense, no three strikes, no second chances.
Comments are allowed for now.
They should let Kevin Rubio make a Tag and Bink Are Dead movie. ;)
I like that idea! There are movie theaters in Second Life, or so I've heard.
If blueprints are still around, even some long gone venues could be recreated.
I had presumed it be a knockoff of Mad Monster Party. Guess I should take a peek at it now.
We have sleazy tabloids on this side of the pond too. Take all spoilers with a grain of salt, no matter the source.
It's been said elsewhere it was the Falcon's hatch. Whether it's made of wood or fiberglass, how heavy could it be?
I wish there was some way we could all sign and send Mr. Ford a get well soon card.
No worries!
And fixed?
Yeah, something weird is going on with Frink's post. I'll see if it's the twitter link...
