Harrison Ford's ankle is on Twitter

The 'ankle'-gate incident seems to have taken on a life of it's own.  Our best-selling national newspaper (the Sun) has the story taking up today's front page here in the U.K.

And I've just seen another update on the BBC news which showed clips of Harrison from the O.T., as well as words of comfort from a middle-aged U.K. 'star wars fan' named 'Luke Skywalker' (yes, seriously) who was seen playing about with his extensive figure/toy collection.  Lol.

Back in the 80's an aspiring lawyer legally changed his name to Luke Skywalker, which lead to jokes about Vader being prosecuted for his evil deeds.

I've heard of a Trek fan or two changing their name to James T. Kirk over the years. I'd be willing to bet a Gone With The Wind fan changed their names to Rhett or Scarlett way back when.

Does the media find these stereotypical fans, or do they seek out the media?

I would think video goggles would make more sense.

I've heard the next generation of "hologram" technology that allows Gorillaz to perform live, and Tupac and Michael Jackson to come back from the choir invisible will be a lot closer to the kind of thing science fiction has been showing us for decades.

It's kind of hilarious people found Star Wars' hologram more "real" than the real hologram Logan's Run used a year before.

Who should the villain(s) of the sequel trilogy be? (if the sequel trilogy has villains)

So if I got that right, we should avoid posting links to interesting TFN posts, no matter how civil we are about it? By "interesting" I mean the one that contain opinions that contrast general opinions here on OT.

TFN has a long history of forum posters having views contrary to those this site is all about. There are probably others. There was even a blogger who was openly critical of us, even though they professed to never actually visit here.

How many times can you beat the same dead Taun Taun? What value does it bring to a discussion here?

That bears an amazing resemblance to one of Matt Jeffries' early designs for the Enterprise. The "ring ship" has appeared onscreen in everything from TMP to STID.

Ahhhhhh, that's better now we can enjoy just the good parts of this photo ^.

So, care to bring me up to speed as to why you're cutting this person out of the picture? I didn't get the memo. The Soviets used to do a better job at this sort of thing. ;)

And nobody is kvetching about the green screen? :P

^The Marvel comics were very weird when it came to the characters' clothing at first. I don't think Luke or Leia changed out of their original movie outfits even once until some thirty-odd issues into the series.

Yeah, they got a couple letters about that, suggesting the clothes must smell really bad. The editor reassured them our heroes wash their clothes regularly. ;)

It's too bad that the TFN thread got locked because I wanted to post "that Plagueis is alive" in that thread.

We don't want nor need outside forum drama being dragged in here. With the renewed interest in Star Wars, we'll have enough shenanigans as it is.

I think it is quite arrogant to talk with "we" like that. Especially since that stuff did not break the four forum rules.

You want to get into flamewars with other sites? It's a great way to start. Kindly do it without this forum. Things weren't always so tranquil around here in the old days. You've been a member of this site a little over a year. If you want to pick a fight with the mods, be my guest.
