Episode VII: The Force Awakens - Discussion * SPOILER THREAD *
Time

They can probably easily shoot most of the cockpit scenes. Heck, they could even ship the cockpit set over to the states if they needed to.

Body doubles are used more than people realize, (eons before CGI existed) even when an actor hasn't been injured. Long shots, inserts, etc. They don't pay an actor to stand around for shots where their face isn't visible.

I'd be willing to bet a rig could be built to shoot Harrison from the waist up which could give the illusion he's walking. Necessity is the mother of invention. ;)

THX 1138 "preservations" + the 'THX 1138 Italian Cut' project (Released)

I know some of you have forgotten all about this, but I'm finally ready to share that 1970 Sunday newspaper magazine supplement about George and the movie. It's incredibly fragile, and too big for a scanner, so I decided the safest method was photographing it under natural lighting.

Can anyone recommend a less spammy free image host?

OT.com civil disobedience over the OT Blu-Rays
Time

Didn't someone here sneak around slapping stickers on the first DVD sets indicating the originals were not included way back when? I'm sure it was at least talked about.

In any case, it's a nice idea, but that ship has sailed. Fox would if they could, but George doesn't want to. And it remains to be seen what Disney will do.

And returning a Blu Ray you already know doesn't have the OT on it is not civil disobedience, it's just being a wise ass.

What the...?

Bidding started at $1000 but it looks like there was a buy it now price which has now finished since bidding started. I wonder what that price was? May have been wiser to to have clicked the 'Buy it now' button at the start ?

You're looking for logical thought processes from ebay bidders. That leads to isanity.

I wonder who just spent their kid's college fund on that. If it's not a punk bid...

If you need to B*tch about something... this is the place

I recall seeing Benny's tv show one summer in the late 70's. CBS dusted it off and ran it one summer. (It's currently airing on Antenna Tv these days.) I had seen the one Looney Tunes he did plenty of times by then.

My Dad turned me on to old radio shows around the same time, so I'm one of the few people alive who gets it when MST3K makes a Fibber McGee and Molly reference. ;)

In the 80's, somebody actually combined Jack Benny with Star Wars, believe it or not!

Working my way through it again right now but I believe my Marvel canon ends just before the ROTJ adaptation. That last stretch before it finally ended was just a disaster.

IIRC, they were probably handcuffed more than ever by Lucasfilm in terms of where they could take the story post ROTJ.

The fans that hate on Jaxxon seem totally unaware of any of these guys. Although I suspect most of the haters don't actually read the old comics. ;)
